Actors Karthi and Kajal Agarwal bagged the title hit pair after acting in the film Naa Peru Shiva. Telling about the memorable Moments with each other, Karthi recalled the shooting of Naa Peru Shiva and recollected his fun time with Kajal Aggarwal. Also, the actors revealed the names of the celebrities with whom they are interested to go on for a coffee date. While Karthi prefers Bollywood Actor-cum-Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, Kajal Aggarwal prefers Akkineni Nagarjuna. Tamil hero Karthi is reportedly taking a pilot crash course. The actor will portray the role of a pilot in veteran director Mani Ratnam’s new film. To get his basics right, Karthi has enrolled himself in a 15 days crash course program. After finishing the course, he will join the shooting from June month.

Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari, a Hyderabadi girl, who is known for her sensational and sensuous photo shoots, has been roped in by Mani Ratnam to play the leading lady. She will be essaying a doctor in this drama. Karthi will be playing a NRI pilot.

Aditi was signed by the film unit after many actresses like Keerthy Suresh, Sai Pallavi etc. walked out of the project. A R Rahman will score music for this film set for release towards the end of this year.

Story

Seenu (Karthi) is a guy released from jail on parole. He is thrown out of his house by his mother (Jayasudha) about his behaviour putting his siblings career in his her mind. He attends an interview just to pass time and to get shelter. He then appointed as a care taker to Vikram Adithya (Nagarjuna Akkineni), chairman of Vikram Adithyaa group of companies. He is a quadriplegic patient, whose body is more like paralysed leaving his body parts immovable. How he takes care of Vikram?? What is the real reason behind Seenu getting job?? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Cast and Performance

Nagarjuna Akkineni as Vikram Adithya, a quadriplegic patient is a lot more than fantastic. Their is no enough words to match his acting capabilities or his performance in Oopiri. As he was saying in interviews it is definitely a life changing movie for him. Karthi as Seenu is super good and is terrific in his role. He complimented Nagarjuna very well in performance like a brother. Thamanna Bhatia is fantabulous and super beautiful. Jayasudha is superb as a middle class mother. Late Kalpana garu is nice. Prakash Raj did a superb job. Ali is hilarious in his role. Thanikella Bharani is good in his limited role. Other actors did according to their given role. Cameos have been used well.

Writing Department

Story is so simple with a lot of emotions. Screenplay is so engaging and so convincing that audience watch it with a happy emotion on their face and wet eyes. Dialogues are situational and are well written.

Technical Departments

Songs are fresh and breezing to ears. They are well composed putting situations in mind by Gopi Sundar. His background score is what it makes movie more emotional and more engaging. It is spell bounding. Cinematography by P S Vinodh is fantastic. He visuals are added advantage to this fantastic movie. Editing by Madhu is crisp. It is perfect. Race sequence is composed well. Production values are so rich.

As the audience are suffocating with lot of so much routine and content less movies, here comes Nagarjuna Akkineni who is striving in his 50’s to do something to Telugu cinema and take it to a next level. He backed up the vision and dream of Vamsi Paidipally to make our audience experience different kind of movies. This movie is so rich in breathtaking emotions and eye moisturizing scenes. When a right script is backed up by a fantastic work by all the cast and crew a film like Oopiri happens. Generally, audience doesn’t accept a star hero having immense charm to be in the shoes of Vikram Adithya, character played by Nagarjuna, but he made it with ease and audience accept him the way he is seen. Definitely, the credit should be given to Vamsi Paidipally for attempting a life changing, daring and unconventional novel script. It is a must watch movie to have some entertaining as well as making your eyes teary sequences and emotions. To sum up, Oopiri is a breath of fresh air into Telugu cinema.

First teaser of Nagarjuna Akkineni and Karthi starrer upcoming film ‘Oopiri’ is slated for release tomorrow. The film is a bilingual, and it is simultaneously releasing in Tamil as ‘Thola’.

The film is directed by Vamsi Paidipally and produced by PVP Cinema. The first look has already got good applause, and the teaser is much awaited now. Gopi Sunder is scoring music.

Nagarjuna is playing a quadriplegic while Karthi is playing his caretaker. The film tells the story between a patient and his caretaker, the moments they enjoy and the conflicts they overcome with the help of each other. Tamanna is playing the secretary of Nagarjuna and love interest of Karthi.

Versatile director Maniratnam found his form back with the flick Ok Kanmani. The film has shown how a vintage Mani Ratnam flick would look like. He is now set to work with Karthi as his next.

Premam fame Sai Pallavi is the female lead in this flick and the latest update suggests that movie will roll on from March. Much earlier to this project, Maniratnam tried to rope in Mahesh, Nagarjuna, Aishwarya Rai in a flick to be directed by him but somehow project didn’t get materialized.

Of all of Karthi’s films in the past, none have had so many delays and problems, as far as we know. The flick’s release apparently has been delayed yet again – this time to October!

Madras is a gangster story but with a refreshing and unique take. It is set in northern Chennai and the backdrop of the communities there as well as the criminal element provide a rich template for storytelling.

The makers of the film had announced early on that Madras will not be a one man show featuring just the hero and his antics but the story of a people living a very dramatic and colourful life, with equal importance given to all.

Karthi desperately needs a hit with this one as his previous few films have been box office disasters. There are only so many failures one can afford as a leading man, before losing that coveted star status in Kollywood.

Madras has been directed by Ranjith and is being produced by Studio Green. It stars Catherine Tresa in the female lead.

The film was originally supposed to release at the end of July but it got postponed as the film’s team did not want in the mad Ramzan rush of big block busters. The release date was then, for all intents and purposes, pushed to August and then September.

Now comes the reports that Ranjith and crew are aiming for an October 2nd release. This means the film would be one of the box office contenders in the four day Gandhi Jayanti weekend this year. However, this would also put in direct competition with Kamal Haasan’s much awaited epic film Uttaama Villain.

Sigh.. it seems Karthi’s Madras cannot catch a break.

This is the hottest rumour fresh out of the rumour mills, folks! Sources say that Karthi’s next project might see him romancing the lovely Shruti Haasan for the very first time. In addition, veteran comedian Vadivelu might be in this untitled project as well!

According to reports, both Vadivelu and Shruti are in talks right now regarding this yet untitled flick.

The movie will be directed by Rowthiram and Idarkkuthanae Aasaipattai Baalakumara fame Gokul, and it will be the first time the three actors work together.

Vadivelu made a comeback recently with his flick Thenaliraman, after being unofficially banned from the industry for some political comments he made back in 2011. So this will be an important step for him too.

Meanwhile, Karthi is currently recuperating from a health crisis he suffered due to food poisoning yesterday at the sets of his movie Komban. He has been ordered by the doctors, after a short stint at the hospital, to take complete rest for the next few days.

So Komban production has been ceased to give Karthi some much needed rest. Komban stars Karthi and Lakshmi Menon in the lead and is being directed by Muthaiah. It is being produced by Studio Green.

Karthi’s other film, which is to be released this August, is Madras directed by Ranjith.

So these are very eventful days indeed for the actor, who really and truly needs a hit release soon. His previous few films under performing at the box office have put his Kollywood career in a rather precarious position.
