Vijay and AR Rahman together have worked in three back to back chartbuster hit movies. It includes Udhaya, Azhagiya Tamizh Magan and last year release Mersal. All these albums have delivered evergreen hits.

But then, Vijay fans have been slightly disappointed that none of these albums featured their Thalapathy as a playback singer. Now it looks like it’s all going to happen with their upcoming film Vijay 62.

If the latest reports are to be believed, Vijay will be crooning a song for this film. Keerthy Suresh is playing a female lead role in this film, which is directed by AR Murugadoss.

As per reports, Mozart of Madras AR Rahman has officially signed for the project. This is his second successive film with Vijay after last year’s record-breaking blockbuster Mersal. Keerthy Suresh, Rakul Preet and Sonakshi Sinha are some of the names that have been doing the rounds for the female lead. But an official word regarding the same has not yet been given. Vijay 62 has a strong technical crew. Malayali cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, multiple National Award-winning editor Sreekar Prasad, and art director T Santhanam have already been confirmed. AR Rahman’s addition is another major booster for the movie.

Reportedly, the makers are planning to start shooting by the end of this month or from the first week of February.

Adhirindhi is the 100th film to be made under Thenandal Studios Ltd banner and it has been produced by Murali Ramasamy & Hema Rukmani. The Telugu version is going to be released through Northstar Entertainment’s Sharrath Marar, who is the strategical partner of the film.

The Telugu version, titled as ‘Adhirindhi’, will have a wide release in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and the film has already raised a lot of curiosity among the audiences. The film focuses on the corruption in the medical industry and Atlee has weaved an excellent story around this concept.

Directed by Atlee, the film stars Vijay in triple roles – a doctor, a magician, and another as a village panchayat president. Among many other highlights including Vijay’s performance as a magician and spectacular action sequences, the flashback sequence is said to be the major highlight of the film. Apart from Vijay, Adhirindhi also features SJ Suryah in a stunning new avatar and he’s going to make a huge impression as a villain in this action entertainer.

Vijayendra Prasad and S Ramana Girivasan have worked on the screenplay, along with Atlee. AR Rahman has scored the music. G.K.Vishnu is the cinematographer, Ruban is the editor and Anal Arasu has composed the action sequences. Atlee has written the story, screenplay, dialogues, apart from directing it.

Mersal is the latest Tamil film that is surrounded by too many controversies now. The film has been in a controversy from the time the title was announced. Later, the film ran into a controversy during the release and then the film is now in a controversy again over a politically-loaded dialogue in Tamil superstar Vijay’s new film, Mersal, on GST, or Goods and Services Tax.

The BJP leaders of Tamilnadu are demanding cuts in the movie.Narayanan Thirupathy, the official spokesperson of the BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit said that the content in the film was intolerant and calls the criticism in the film was about the country. The leaders are feeling that certain dialogues in the film are “mistakenly or intentionally” was “misguiding and defaming” the country. In the film, Vijay says, about the government’s inability to provide free healthcare for all in India despite high GST rates in India, saying Singapore is able to fund a free health scheme despite a much lower GST rate.

“Don’t silence critics. India will shine when it speaks. Mersal was certified. Don’t re-censor it. Counter criticism with logical response,” Kamal Haasan tweeted in support to the film unit.

Vijay starrer Adhirindhi is gearing up for a huge release as a Diwali special on October 18 in the two Telugu speaking states. The pre-release buzz surrounding the film is extremely positive and it’s going to be the biggest ever release for a Vijay’s film in Telugu.

All the three magicians were quite impressed with Vijay’s dedication to learn the tricks and termed him as a perfectionist. Talking about his experience, Gogo Requiem said, “I had my reservations over teaching someone things that usually take years to perfect. But I was quite astonished when Vijay got everything at one go. He’s a very good observer and a quick learner. Not just that, he’s also an incredible actor and an awesome magician too. I wasn’t the only one; there were two other guys too, Donney Bennet and Raman Sharma. They were also involved in the process along with 70-80 people from India who were all helping in the making of the movie in Macedonia in May, 2017.” On the other hand, Raman Sharma complimented Vijay saying, “If Vijay decides to become a magician, he’ll be one of the best in the world.”

Mersal means to be stunned by a beauty of something or someone, and we have to say that after watching the teaser of Vijay’s upcoming film, well the title is most appropriate. He plays three different roles, and the teaser highlights two of them with stark differences in looks, attitude, and landscape. From international opera house, where one of the magician performs for a crowd to the rural stage with people crowding to see their local hero perform, the teaser is accentuated with differences.

Talking about the decision to cast Sai Pallavi, Vijay said that he really liked her performance in Premam and added that she has done a lovely job in Karu.

He said that, “Right from the beginning, I was very confident that Sai would be able to pull it off. I watched Premam as well as Kali. I loved her performance in both. She was very impressive in the latter. She has done a wonderful job in Karu.It is an intense subject and focuses on the bond between a mother and her four-year-old daughter. Sai Pallavi essays the mother. I was very happy when she came forward to dub. This will enhance her role multiple times.”

The director went on to add that he asked Sai Pallavi to dub her voice and not rely on a dubbing artiste as it is going to up the recall value of her performance in a big way.

Vijay’s most awaited film Mersal directed by Atlee has three heroines – Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen. It is heard that the hero is doing three roles in the film and they are a magician, a Panchayat chief and a doctor.
