The main reason behind the differences between the couple is said to be that Amala Paul’s next movie, which will take almost two years to complete, opposite Dhanush. Vijay doesn’t want to sign the film as it would take two years. But, Amla Paul signs on the dotted lines without the approval of Vijay. This leads to many differences between them.

But, later some of the fans fight each other and nearly eight persons severely injured in the clash. The residents of the area went off to a police station to file a case against 100 members. But the police rejected to file a case on the fan clubs. With this, the women protested against Police in the Tiruverumbur police station. Later police gave counseling to women and brought the situation into normal condition.

As we all know that actor Vijay’s upcoming film is tentatively called Vijay 60 since it marks the sixtieth film of Ilaiyathalapathy. Ilayathalapathy Vijay, whose ‘Theri’ was released last week, has opened with hit talk in Tamil film industry. The film has been doing a record breaking business at Box Office, across the world. But the only disappointment that the fans and the makers of the film had is Chengalpet distributors not screening the film in their area theatres which really disturbed the business. Hence, the film producer S.Thanu recently held a press conference to clarify further regarding the entire happenings surrounding the issue. He also detailed about the current trade status of the super hit film. The producer said that all the distributors are extremely happy with the way the film has been received, and they are enjoying profits.

A Mumbai based company had actually brought the rights for the film from him and he sold it to respective distributors such as SPI Cinemas. Then the distributors and exhibitors in that particular area are not ready to pay the MG (Minimum Guarantee) and they are doing it having mislead by a person with a personal motive to spoil the fortunes of a Vijay film. Thanu was disappointed with this. He revealed that the theatre owners of the area were regretting now about their decision of not bringing the film to the theatres. He finally clarified that it is the distributors who have not released the film in that area.

The film is doing well in all areas. The producer is currently busy with the production of Rajinikanth’s Kabali.

Tamil Satellite Channel Polimer is up to face legal troubles now for illegally recording newly released Vijay starrer movie Theri inside a theater complex in Coimbatore. The distributor of the film has filed a complaint against the channel and in his complaint, he revealed that the cameraman who works for the channel entered the theatre showing his Press ID card and recorded the film for more than half an hour. The person was later handed over to the police officials. Not only this, but some anti-fans of Vijay also tried capturing videos and uploaded on Twitter.

Upon asking the TV cameraman said that he was doing so as per the instruction of his bosses. This answer has really disappointed the local distributor but when the distributor contacted the local TV channel, he did not get proper answer, and they seemed to remain silent on the issue. The distributor has forwarded the complaint to Tamil Film Producers Council also. After discussions, the council has decided not to extend their support to the TV channel anymore in the future.

Story

Joseph Kurivilla (Ilayathalapathy Vijay) is a baker who runs a bakery in Kerala lives with his only daughter Nivi (Baby Nainika) and Rajendra (Rajendran). Joseph is very much attached to Nivi. He cares and loves her so much as she is the only one she have. Annie (Amy Jackson), teacher of Nivi becomes close to them over course of time and has crush for Jospeh in the corner of her heart. One day while she is taking Nivi to school, they get hit by a car and rescue with minor injuries. She files a complaint on them in the local police station. Joseph goes with her to police station to withdraw case where she develops a feel of doubt on him and his name. At night of the same day, goons on whom they file case attacks Jospeh in his home and at the same time Annie comes to know about Jospeh. Who is Joseph Kurivilla?? What is his real name and his past?? forms the rest of the story.

Cast and Performance

Ilayathalapathy Vijay is at his usual best. He did a fantastic job in his three variants with a convincing cut out. Samantha Ruth Prabhu as a doctor did superb job. It can be said as one of the best roles she ever played. Amy Jackson is good in her teacher role. Baby Nainika, daughter of Meena is so adorable and cute on screen. She shines well in scenes with Vijay. Raadhika Sarath Kumar is fine. Rajendra generate laughs at places. Prabhu is impressive. Director Mahendran debuted as an actor with this movie and he is terrific in his role.

Writing Department

Basic plot of the story is simple and good. It has so many shades of Atlee’s guru’s A R Murugadoss and Shankar. Screenplay is the saving part of the film. Atlee had done a superb job in this aspect. Dialogues by Sahithi are good and are in good sync.

Technical Departments

Tunes composed by GV Prakash Kumar for his 50th album are superb. But lyrics written in Telugu doesn’t sync well. His background music is fantastic. Cinematography by George C Williams is pretty good. He added richness to the visuals with his lighting. Editing by Ruben is fine and impressive. Stunts and action sequences are well composed and will be well received mass audience. Productions Values are superb.

Verdict

This movie begins with the showcase scene of Joseph as a innocent and a guy who don’t encourage violence and his love for his daughter Nivi. Screenplay is good and engages audience but songs with non-sync lyrics act as hindrances. When the original character of Joseph is revealed movie picks momentum and heroism starts. It ends on a very interesting way which is enough for audience to create their own stories for second half. Second half starts with a slow pace. Atlee failed to handle this half. Atlee, who did a fantastic job as director with his debut film “Raja Rani” did an average job in handling a big star in this revenge action drama. To sum up, Policeodu is a mass police drama.

We have already reported that Telangana Police Welfare Association has forced senior producer Dil Raju to change the title of Vijay’s today released film from ‘Policeodu’ to ‘Police’.

The Association heads have conducted a media meeting to inform and warn film makers that they will not tolerate if police officers, who command respect and dignity in public, are degraded in the movies. They asked filmmakers not to use objectionable titles, dialogues and scenes in the film.

It was strongly conveyed by the association members that they will not hesitate to take legal action against film stars and producers if the police officers are shown in bad light. They even took the example of Srikanth’s latest film ‘Mental Police’ and said that they will soon move to court against the makers.
