There is a controversy regarding the title of Telugu version of Vijay’s latest release Theri in Tollywood. The makers have initially titled it as Policeodu which was actually decided by Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu. But after doing promotions in Telugu and completing censor formalities, the title was now changed. As we all knew that Police Organisations met the producer Dil Raju and explained their reservations about the title. Dil Raju who accepted their demands instantly discussed with the original makers and immediately changed the title to Police to avoid any unnecessary controversies in future.

The movie will now be titled ‘Police’ in Telugu and will be hitting the theaters tomorrow without any change. The movie has completed its censor formalities, and it has been given a U certificate by the board. Talking about the same, the producer Dil Raju said that his team respected the sentiments of Police organizations and after having proper communication with the production unit, he fixed the title as Police. Sri Venkateswara Creations and Kalaipuli S Thanu will be releasing the Telugu version of the film. Atlee Kumar of Raja Rani fame is the director. Vijay, Samantha, Amy Jackson, Prabhu, Radhika, Mahendran and other senior actors are playing important roles in this movie.

Tamil star hero Vijay’s ‘Theri’, which is slated to release in the two Telugu states as ‘Policeodu’, is now experiencing a last minute glitch.

Dil Raju is releasing Policeodu in the two Telugu states tomorrow while the Tamil version has hit screens today. Given the buzz for the film among Telugu audiences, Dil Raju has planned for a massive release across the Telugu states.

He might not have expected that the Telangana Police Officer’s Welfare Association would launch a protest against Policeodu alleging that the film’s title is disrespecting the police department. They have even sent a legal notice to the senior producer. The protesting policemen have demanded the film’s title to be changed.

The policemen’s protests look highly unreasonable since they didn’t have to be silent until the last minute to launch a protest as the title was announced some ten days ago.

Tamil star hero Vijay’s 60th untitled film was launched on Monday in Chennai.

The film’s launch event was attended by Vijay and lead heroine Keerthy Suresh. Bharathan is directing this film while Vijaya Productions has taken the responsibility of production. Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu has been roped in to essay the negative role. Daniel Bajali, Thambi Ramaiah, etc are playing pivotal roles.

After two days of shooting, the film’s shooting will resume in May and will continue without any break. Malayalam actress Keerthy Suresh is very much excited to sign the big film of her career.

Vijay is currently waiting for the release of his most awaited film ‘Theri’. Pegged to be an action entertainer, Theri will hit screens on April 14, on the eve of Tamil New Year. Samantha and Amy Jackson have played lead roles in this Atlee directorial.

With just few hours to go for the release of the film Theri, there is a dilemma for the fans in some areas whether the film releases or not.

This is because of the disputes between the exhibitors and distributors. The exhibitors of Chennai, Chengalpattu along with the single and double theatres managements are stepping back denying the screening of the film. The High Court of Madras recently gave a strong decision on hike of ticket prices and this made exhibitors angry. As a result, they are now showing no interest in exhibiting the film. They wanted the issue to be solved and are expecting the discussions with distributors regarding the already made agreement about the ticket prices.

This is not the first time that Vijay is facing problems before release. In the past, he encountered the same for the films like Thalaiva and Puli. Meanwhile, some of the exhibitors kept a vigilance on theatres who are going over board by selling the tickets for hiked prices. The government also set a telephone line for receiving the complaints from common men on the same. The only fear for exhibitors is that they may fell into losses if they sell tickets without hikes.

On the other side, the multiplexes have started advance bookings but the issues is with single screen theatres alone. Already producers are looking into this aspect and let us hope that the problem gets resolved soon.

Super Star Mahesh Babu is currently busy with the shoot of his upcoming film Brahmotsavam. The actor is eyeing for a release in the month of May. He also signed another film in the direction of talented AR Muragadoss. The film is yet to get a title and the pre production work of the film started long back. Tamil star hero Vijay committed a grave mistake during the audio launch of his new film Theri by referring to Chinese greatest Communist leader Mao Zedong as a former Russian president.

YouTube has given a rude shock to Tamil star hero Vijay just like it did to Telugu super star Mahesh Babu a couple of years ago.

The teaser of Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Theri’ was released yesterday and it created sensation on youtube in just few hours. Much to shock of everyone, Youtube has now removed the teaser after its launch owing to copyright violations.

This development took place when the teaser was set to create new records for most number of views and likes for the teaser of a south Indian film on YouTube. Earlier, Ajith’s Vedalam teaser set record with 140K views in just 12 hours whereas Vijay’s Theri teaser managed 120K before being removed by Youtube.

Makers of ‘Theri’ are said to be sorting out the issue with Youtube to restore the teaser as fast as they can.

Few years ago, the teaser of Mahesh’s ‘Nenokkadine’ was also removed by Youtube citing same copyrights violation reason.

Tamil star Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s new film referred as “Vijay 60” was officially launched yesterday with a formal pooja in Chennai.

The launch event happened without much fanfare, and surprisingly, even Vijay didn’t attend the launch event. Vijaya Productions is bankrolling this high budget movie also starring Malayalam Superstar Mammootty.

After pairing with Mohanlal in ‘Jilla’, Vijay will unite with Mammootty in this action entertainer to be directed by Bharatan. However, an official announcement is awaited in this regard. Rumor is that few big names are being considered to essay the leading lady.

Two superstars of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Vijay came forward to offer shelter for the victims of Tamil Nadu floods. Since many people have lost homes due to rains, Rajini and Vijay offered their respective Kalyana Mandapams as a temporary stay.

Rajinikanth’s Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Kodambakkam and Shoba Kalyana Mandapam in Saligramam of Vijay, have been offered by the two superstars for people. Rajnikanth has already donated Rs 10 Lakh for the relief of the victims.

Now Vijay is eyeing for Ram Charan’s another movie title “Merupu”, which has been halted for unknown reasons.

The first look and title of Tamil actor Vijay’s upcoming film in the direction of Atlee were revealed recently. With ‘Theri’ as Tamil title, the film will have Vijay playing a police officer.

As per reports, makers of the film are considering ‘Merupu’ as the title for the Telugu version of the stylish action entertainer.

It is well known that Ram Charan had few years back started a film with ‘Merupu’ as the title. Although the project was scrapped for an indefinite period, makers continue to claim now and then that the flick will be back on track.
