A miracle happened last year when an absolutely unconventionally looking actor became an overnight star. He is ‘Burning Star’ Sampoornesh Babu. This Sam Anderson of Tollywood was purely a creation of the director of Hrudaya Kaleyam , Steven Shankar (aka Sai Rajesh). Hrudaya Kalayem was indeed a path breaking movie. However, if one chooses to follow this path, lot of talent is needed to write the script to make it uniquely entertaining.

“Pathetic Parody”

Singham 123 tries to take this path and utterly fails to create humor. Without any innovation, the writer Manchu Vishnu takes an easy path by inserting direct references to movies along with the background scores. Parodying was done exploiting all the cop films right from Pokiri to Vikramarkudu to Singham to Gabbar Singh to Race Gurram. All the top stars were parodied too. Ok, fair enough, when you are making a parody-based cop movie. However, a question to ponder is if plainly picking up a scene and making a spoof out of it enough to generate laughter?

Singham 123 (Sampoornesh Babu) is a super seductive cop with a swaggering personality. He is called by the Home Minister to stop the atrocities done by Lingam in a town called Singarayakonda. Singham 123 comes to know from his mother that he has a very old connect with that town. He is on a revenge mission to thwart Lingam who killed his father Jangam. The rest of the film is the war between Singham and Lingam.

The movie overflows with PJs. Yes, the trailer of the movie definitely was amusing and promising. If they had named it as a spoof video without making a movie out of it, it would have been great. But the makers have scaled it to 2 hour insipid long film.

Sampoornesh definitely has gained some confidence. Thanks to all the special roles, he’s been getting these days that improved his confidence on screen. Truly speaking, he is in fact like clay. And it’s in the hands of the sculptor (i.e writer), how to generate humor (that works) out of him. It would be imprudent to think that the movie will work by just making Sampoornesh look funny.

Director Akshat Sharma and writer Vishnu have ended up giving a film that totally falters. A handful of dialogues by Ratnababu were good. Thankfully, the songs were short and crisp and the movie duration was less too.

Coming to the technical aspects, there is nothing significant enough to talk about.

All in all, this was a pathetic parody!

Sampoornesh Babu, the Burning Star of Tollywood, supported Jabardasth Venu in the recent tiff. It is known that the comedian Venu who is famous for his skits in Jabardasth, was attacked by people of a particular caste.

Seeing the video footage, Nagababu came into the episode take charge on the attackers. He mentioned that the attack was intentional. Soon after Naga Babu, entire Jabardasth team supported Venu and they all together raised their voice on this attack.

Kabaddi match in yesterday’s Memu Saitham event turned out to be a highlight one. Brahmi was seen in furious state and he is firing on Mohan Babu for the fines he is imposing on Brahmi’s team. Of course, everything was in a comedy way and the actors just entertained audience with their gestures.

On the other hand, main competition was seen between Brahmi and Sampu in the Kabaddi match. Fans were thrilled seeing Sampoornesh Babu and they raised their voice in support of this star. On the other hand, Brahmi was quite hilarious in the team and he was seen doing comedy throughout the Kabaddi match.

Finally, Manchu Manoj’s team won over Vishnu’s team by 4 points and Brahmi was in Manoj’s team. It was entertaining to see Kabaddi and Cricket at one go in Memu Saitham event.

This guy needs no introduction. In the past few months you’ve probably read more about his guy more than any other celebrity. And yeah,he’s worth it.

Sampoornesh Babu will be playing an important role in Allari Naresh’s next film titled “Bandipotu”.
Allari Naresh will be seen romancing Eesha in the film.

Having proved already that ‘acting’ is what takes a person a long way in the industry, Sampoornesh Babu landed this coveted role on his merit. And yes, he’s definitely a favourite with the masses.

The movie was launched recently and the film’s music recording sessions have started in Rajahmundry.

While Sampoo has sung for this film, rumours are rife that the actor will also be seen in Manchu Manoj’s “Current Theega”, where Sampoo will play the character of Sunny Leone’s husband. Manoj, meanwhile, tweeted that he hasn’t been cast in the film. Confusion,confusion and confusion!

“Bandipotu” features Naresh romancing Eesha. Karthika plays the role of Naresh’s sister in the film.

This movie marks the debut of The Burning Star Sampoornesh Babu. This social media sensation, became a star, even before the release of this début film Hrudaya Kaaleyam. Directed by Stephen Shankar, this film has released amidst huge craze and public frenzy.

Sampoornesh Babu,undoubtedly, is the biggest and the only asset of this film. Sampoo does not disappoint the viewers. He dances, fights and even invents a computer by his name- ‘Samputer’. Such hilarious incidents with punch dialogues build up the excitement in the audience.The crowds go crazy the very moment Sampoo lands on screen. His dialogues and expressions are hilarious.

The way certain satirical sequences have been shot look good on screen. First half of the film is high on comedy-quotient and so is the climax. Lead Actresses of the film, Kavya Kumar and Ishika Singh, up the glamour quotient of the film and slip into their roles with ease.

Having entertained the audiences to a large extent, this movie certainly scores low on the Logic-Meter. There is no reasoning whatsoever in most of the scenes. Sampoornesh Babu is therefore the only ‘holding’ force of the film which goes on to become drab once he’s off-screen.

The curse of Second half strikes this movie too,with a good 15-20 minutes wasted there.

Songs are about average and do not hamper the flow of the film. Dialogues need a special mention here. The one liners written for Sampoo are hilarious and will be remembered for a long time. The credit of which goes to the Director.

Director Stephen Shankar has done a good job with a decent execution of this flick. His amalgamation of stories from blockbuster films moulded into a satire is cleverly done. The director is also the man behind the story and screenplay of the movie.

The movie is effctively laden on Sampoornesh Babu’s shoulders. However,it fails to answer some very basic questions such as – “Why is Sampoo’s character the way he is?” “What drives him to do what he does?”

All in all, People who are not in awe of Sampoornesh Babu and cannot handle typical over the top comedies, are advised to be at distance from this one!
