Sayyesha Saigal is one of the happening heroines in Kollywood film industry now. She got married recently and is all set to get back to the work mode now. After dating Arya for some time, Sayyesha tied the knot with the actor and their wedding took place on the 10th of last month.

Naga Chaitanya said that the film is not just an action film, but a very youth-centric thriller where he plays a college dropout who makes drones. The actor is seriously trying to explore the Tamil cinema industry as well. He was supposed to make his Tamil debut sometime back in the film directed by Karthik Naren which did not happen.

Sundeep Kishan is doing the film right now. But Naga Chaitanya seriously wanted to take his next film to Tamil films and says that there are no plans of Bollywood right now.

Actress Simran Bagga, who ruled the south film industry for over a decade before marrying her boyfriend Deepak, has now turned her husband a villain.

Post the marriage, Simran made her comeback and acted in a couple of films as character artist, but none worked out for her. Even her plans to produce movies and TV serials didn’t work out. She, in fact, wanted to use her influence and cast her husband as a hero in movies. With all these efforts turning futile, the couple seems to have decided to attempt villainy.

Reportedly, Deepak has been roped in as a villain in a new Tamil film titled ‘Odu Raja Odu’. ‘Joker’ fame Guru Somasundaram is the hero. Deepak hopes to impress the filmmakers with his villainy and grab big films. Simran is heard to be helping her husband in this villain act.

Three reputed directors Gautam Menon, SJ Surya, and Selva Raghavan are coming together to make a horror film.All three are not directing this one but they are sharing the responsibilities.

While Gautam Menon will take of production responsibility, Selva Raghavan will direct SJ Surya in lead role. Each of the three directors created their own brand with their respective films. When these three creative minds come together, the result is expected to be out of the box.

After his ‘Kaan’ with Simbu was halted for indefinite period, Selva Raghavan prepared this horror subject and formed the awesome combination. Currently, the casting process is in progress and the film will go on floors early next year.

Chennai hottie Trisha Krishnan has signed a new film opposite National Award winning actor Dhanush. Touted to be a political thriller, the film will have Trisha essaying a character with negative shades.

To be directed by Durai Senthil Kumar, Vidya Balan was first approached for the role. Though she liked it, she couldn’t sign the film due to undisclosed reasons and hence Trisha stepped in. It is heard that the negative role attracted Trisha to sign the film.

Although Trisha and Dhanush were to pair twice in the past, the films didn’t materialize so Trisha is pairing with him for the first time. Dhanush will be playing dual roles with Shamili as the leading lady in this thriller.

Meanwhile, Trisha’s new movie Thoongavanam is getting ready for release and will hit the theaters for Diwali. She paired with Kamal Hassan in the movie. The movie also releasing in Telugu as Cheekati Rajyam.

Tamil Nadu high court recently passed an order that not only made Tamil filmmakers upset but also confused.

The High Court of Tamil Nadu in the past made a law giving tax exemption to movies to Tamil movies that are titled in local language Tamil.

Taking advantage of this, many Tamil filmmakers made films with Tamil titles and gained the tax exemption. Many claimed that filmmakers are titling their films in Tamil, just to gain the exemption, defending this the producers and directors said that such titles were chosen because to show their respect towards mother tongue.

While this controversy was going on a petition was filed by a local lawyer regarding this issue in the Tamil Nadu High Court.

High Court, after receiving this petition came up with a committee to look into this issue. After the committee studied this issue deeply, made a report and submitted it to the High Court.

As per the reports proceedings few filmmakers really to a good lot of advantage by tilting their films in Tamil. Agreeing with the Committee, High Court gave a serious warning to the filmmakers over the misuse of law.

Further, High Court ordered that from now onwards no Tamil Film shall get any tax exemption even though it is titled in Tamil. Film’s that gained a clean U certificate are only eligible for tax exemption, said High Court.

The bubbly babe of south Indian cinema, Hansika Motwani, must be doing something, or maybe all the things right because the she is landing one project after another in fierce succession. Reports indicate her next project will be with none other than Udayanidhi Stalin!

Now, it is to be noted here that Hansika was paired with Udayanidhi in his debut film as a hero, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, directed by M Rajesh. The film was quite a success critically and commercially, so the duo’s onscreen chemistry is a tested and proven one.

Hansika has been a lot in the news of recent and for sure, she is someone you could call a media darling, for all her press coverage seems to show her in an adoring light. It was only a few weeks ago that the gorgeous girl Lakshmi Rai emerged in a new avatar after rechristening herself Raai Lakshmi. The actress’s replies to curious folks everywhere about her name changing was that her original name never suited her – it didn’t have quite the pizzazz to match her personality and now that she was doing more action and stylish roles, the transformation was called for.

And it seems Raai’s luck has changed indeed because now she has back to back releases in Tamil coming soon and a big one in Malayalam too, opposite Mammootty, named Rajadhi Raja.

But it is her Tamil releases, specifically Aranmanai, directed by Sundar C, which has caused a bit of grief for the diva.

Rumours began spreading that all of her scenes from the multi star studded flick had been cut out. The film, after all, had a number of other leading ladies in it, they said. The rumours, as they often do, then began growing and mutating to the point that it became the talk of Kollywood – that Raai and Sundar C now shared bad blood.

But name changed or not, our darling starlet is not one to sit silently by and watch gossip mongers wreak havoc with her professional life, so she gave a solid, unambiguous statement to the press clarifying matters.

Rumors are all they are and baseless ones at that she exclaimed.

“I have seen the finished version of the movie and all my scenes are there. There is absolutely no bad blood between Sundar sir and me, and I wish the crew of the movie all the best with its release.” Raai concluded.

Now that leaves little room for any more speculation. It seems this new incarnation of the beloved diva is not one that puts up with any non sense and is willing to step up and take the mic if necessary.

When asked about it at the sets of Kaththi, Samantha replied decisively, “I cannot wait to get back to the sets of 10 Endrathukkulla. I love my role in the movie.”

So clearly, the actress has a favourite among the three. While her Anjaan avatar has stunned the fans with her glamorous new looks, one wonders how amazing must be her role in the Vijay Milton movie for the actress to be so thrilled about it.

10 Endrathukkulla is an action flick with high octane road scenes and a race against time plot of some sort, it has been rumoured. Some even compared it to the Hollywood franchise of Transporter films starring Jason Statham.

The film’s next schedule is set in Pune and it is aiming for a release sometime around Pongal 2015.

Meanwhile, Samantha still has a few days of the Kaththi shoot to finish up in Chennai.

Trisha Krishnan, the elegant beauty with her cutesy features, is not a pleasure to work with? Well, maybe she is and maybe she isn’t. But Vijay Sethupathi denies having said that she is!

The whole thing looks like a misunderstanding. Recently rumours surfaced that Vijay had said in his Facebook page that Trisha is a pleasure to work with and that he is “looking forward to working with her.”

Sounds like an innocent enough statement, yes?

But the Soodhu Kavvum actor has come forth stating outright that the whole thing is false and he never said those words. Why? Because he doesn’t have any social media accounts, it seems!

So it is less about Trisha and more about statements being made in his name that the actor is worried about. He clarified that he has not signed up to do any film with the actress either.

Ever since making it big in the industry, and earning the respect of the fans with a string of successful films the actor is very concerned about what the public perceives him to be. It was quite recently that another incident of this type happened, which caused the actor to become vocal in his protests.

A Kannada movie he had played a minor role in a few years back, named Akhaada, was being dubbed in to Tamil as Edakku. But the movie’s producers made the decision to market the flick as a ‘Vijay Sethupathi film’ now that he had a fan following in Tamil Nadu.

Vijay said the producers were trying to cheat the public as he was just a minor character in the film and he did not even dub for the movie.

So, a cautious and very straightforward man he is…

Vijay Sethupathi is currently busy with multiple projects like SP Jananathan’s Purampokku in which he stars along with Arya, Biju Viswanath’s Orange Mittai and Vasantha Kumaran by Anand Kumaresan among others.

Yes, we have confirmation that it was Thala Ajith himself who recommended Vijay for a role in his upcoming mega flick Thala 55! And Vijay is now on board the project and has begun shooting his portions, according to sources. But hold on… we are not talking about Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay here of course!

No – we are talking about the veteran actor Thalaivasal Vijay, who is playing a pivotal role in the Ajithkumar starrer.

Ajith and Thalaivasal Vijay have been friends for over a decade and half, ever since the star’s hit romantic movie Kadhal Kottai. And so, when Gautham Menon was casting for the movie and a suitable role presented itself, Ajith took the chance to personally recommend his friend, say the sources.

Thala has been known to do this all the time and it is no wonder he has no shortage of friends and well wishers within the industry. Generosity and loyalty goes a long way in earning respect!

Ajith’s giving nature though is not just limited to his peers in the movie industry but also extends to his staff and his fans. Though he likes to keep his charitable side out of the public eye as he believes in charity for charity’s sake and not for recognition, some things do tend to slip out.

For example, it was only a few weeks ago that the world learned that the actor had built free, fully furnished homes for his household staff who have been with him a long time!

Perhaps it is true that ‘as you sow , so you reap’ because the actor’s personal and professional life is at an all time high. Not only is Thala 55 one of the most talked about movies in town, but his family too will be growing soon as he just announced that his beautiful wife, former actress Shalini, is pregnant with their second child.

In essence, yeah… that’s what they are saying! Let us get in to it shall we? Arya’s and Nayantara’s friendship is a known thing in industry circles and to an extent even among the fans who adore the duo.

Some time back though, certain rumours had surfaced that the pair had a falling out but it turned out to be nothing in the end and the matter was laid to rest. But recent events are forcing the industry watchers and other interested parties to poke at that bit of news again.

Here’s what happened…

It was reported a while back that Arya was one of the leading contenders and quite possibly a confirmed candidate to play one of the lead roles in the remake of the smash hit Malayalam movie Bangalore Days. Well, at least in the Tamil remake. Supposedly, there is a Telugu remake in the works too.

Now, Nayantara was being considered to play one of the female leads in the huge cast of characters the movie has, and it looks like she has been rejected now or so say the reports.

The reason though is where it gets interesting. Sources say the film’s makers let Nayan go because – get this – Arya expressed some discomfort in working with her or did not want her in the project!

This one has everyone stymied. What happened between the duo and why wouldn’t he want to work with her? After all, it was only recently that he was recommending her for a part in the upcoming movie of his close friend Vishal.

Not that Nayan needs personal recommendations to get projects of course! She remains the queen of the movie industry in the south with the fattest paycheques rolling in.

But this whole affair is rather disconcerting to say the least.

Anyway, ‘Bommarilu’ Bhaskar will be donning the role of the director for the remakes of Bangalore Days and eager fans wait for further details to be revealed soon!

Yes she did indeed, folks – not in a manner of speaking but in a very real sense as the lovelier than ever Trisha Krishnan just took a job that Kajal was being considered for! Yeah, now that must sting a little bit…

Recently we reported that Kajal Agarwal, for unknown reasons, was acting a bit too ‘pricey’ for her own good. The producers of Suraaj’s upcoming Jayam Ravi starrer had approached the diva with an offer but she demanded a paycheque of Rs 1.5 crores which left them reeling!

It was a bit unexpected as sources indicate that right now Kajal lacks any real project in the south.

Instead of maybe cutting back on her demands, this seems to have spurred the starlet in to making more. In a highly competitive industry, this is obviously a gutsy or perhaps a tad short sighted call Kajal made, and now within a matter of days, she has paid the price.

The producers of the flick in question approached Trish Krishnan for the part and she has given her official green light to go ahead. Keep in mind, the movie has two leading ladies – the other part being played by Anjali.

Anjali’s character is more of a country girl and the other female character is more of a modern one, which is what prompted the producers to consider Kajal in the first place.

Well, Kajal’s loss has become Trisha’s gain… end of story.

Trish has worked with Jayam Ravi before in Unakkum Enakkum almost a decade ago and recently completed the flick Bhoologam with the actor as well. So clearly their on screen pairing is quite a successful one and let’s hope the Suraaj one follows suit.

This is the hottest rumour fresh out of the rumour mills, folks! Sources say that Karthi’s next project might see him romancing the lovely Shruti Haasan for the very first time. In addition, veteran comedian Vadivelu might be in this untitled project as well!

According to reports, both Vadivelu and Shruti are in talks right now regarding this yet untitled flick.

The movie will be directed by Rowthiram and Idarkkuthanae Aasaipattai Baalakumara fame Gokul, and it will be the first time the three actors work together.

Vadivelu made a comeback recently with his flick Thenaliraman, after being unofficially banned from the industry for some political comments he made back in 2011. So this will be an important step for him too.

Meanwhile, Karthi is currently recuperating from a health crisis he suffered due to food poisoning yesterday at the sets of his movie Komban. He has been ordered by the doctors, after a short stint at the hospital, to take complete rest for the next few days.

So Komban production has been ceased to give Karthi some much needed rest. Komban stars Karthi and Lakshmi Menon in the lead and is being directed by Muthaiah. It is being produced by Studio Green.

Karthi’s other film, which is to be released this August, is Madras directed by Ranjith.

So these are very eventful days indeed for the actor, who really and truly needs a hit release soon. His previous few films under performing at the box office have put his Kollywood career in a rather precarious position.

Nayantara is the highest paid actress in the south and for good reason, but even she can ‘lose projects’ it seems. And not just to anybody, but the bubbly and glamorous Hansika Motwani, who is currently the third highest earner after Nayan and Kajal Aggarwal.

Wondering what exactly we’re talking about?

Here’s the scoop.. Director Sunder C’s next flick with Vishal is titled Aambala and has slowly been building up hype since news about it began getting out. The lead actress in the film, as it has been announced now, is Hansika.

But it was also reported earlier on that actor Arya, who is a close personal friend of Vishal, was recommending Nayantara for that particular role. So most people felt the deal was a lock, given the friendship of the two actors and the successful prior working history of Nayan and Vishal in movies like Sathyam.

However, the wild card in the situation who popped up out of nowhere was Hansika. See, Hansika just so happens to be a close friend of director Sunder C’s wife – the actress Khushboo – and it is through this relationship that she convinced the film maker and managed to sign the dotted lines on this project.

And it is not like he needed much convincing, as he had just worked with her in the yet to release Aranmanai.

Meanwhile, it’s not like Nayan’s sitting at her home, killing time and looking for work or anything.. she’s quite busy with multiple projects including Idhu Namm Aalu, directed by Pandiraj and starring Simbu, which has for some reason stalled for now in the final stages of production.

Sigh. The business and the industry behind the screens that runs these well oiled machines which bring us such entertainment can be frustrating and perplexing things indeed.
