There has been a great buzz about the relationship between Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor in the media. It is now almost confirmed that actor Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora are all set to tie a knot together. Meanwhile, a web based newspaper recently posted a report on Janvi Kapoor’s dress to which Arjun reacted strongly. The newspaper report came up with a story about the short dress of Janvi.

Boney Kapoor and daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor went for dinner to Arjun Kapoor’s house. Arjun Kapoor returned to Mumabi from Amritsar where he was shooting ‘Namaste England’ with Parineeti Chopra.

It is learnt that Arjun wanted to be with his father and step-sisters during their moment of grievance after the untimely death of Sridevi. Speculations are rife about Arjun and sister Anshula shifting back in their family home, to be closer to Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.

A source said, “So far, Arjun and his sister Anshula Kapoor have led pretty much independent lives, away from their father’s family. But now Arjun feels his father and his stepsisters Janhvi and Khushi need him. He has begun to feel as protective towards his stepsister as he does towards his own sister Anshula.”

A driver from Chamoli in Uttarakhand was arrested for assaulting Arjun Kapoor, who is shooting for his film ‘Sandeep Aur Pinki Farar’ in Pithoragarh district.

Police sources said, Kamal Kumar managed to approach Kapoor in his vanity van and insisted on shaking hands with him. Kumar was allegedly drunk. When Kapoor complied, Kumar allegedly tried to twist his hand and manhandled him. Police and other security personnel rushed to the spot and arrested Kumar and booked him for an attempt to assault.

Police also seized Kumar’s car under the Motor Vehicle Act and slapped a fine of Rs 500 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Police have asked the assistant regional transport officer to cancel his license for driving drunk.

Goa beauty Ileana pinned high hopes on her latest release ‘Mubarkaan’, a film starring Arjun Kapoor playing the dual role. But the film disappointed her.

A picture of Ileana with her best buddy surfaced on social media and she is seen being consoled (not serious though) by her ‘Mubarkaan’ co-star Athiya Shetty.

Regardless of the reason, the pic has gone viral due to the tight hug shared by the two hot ladies. The younger of the two, Athiya Shetty is seen sitting on Ileana’s lap, a visual enough for her fans to go crazy.

Good or bad, Anees Bazmee definitely falls in the list of popular comedy directors in the last decade and half. Unlike David Dhawan in 90s, there has been no one really emerged with that much success rate in out and out comedy entertainers. Priyadarshan and Anees Bazmee tried their bit. Among them Anees Bazmee dealt with bigger budgets and costly sets. He continues his template in Mubarakaan with the 2nd Kapoors family of Bollywood .

Mubarakaan is a confusion comedy set in Punjab and London. Karan and Charan are twins played by Arjun Kapoor. They are orphans and raised in Punjab and London respectively by their uncle ( Pavan Malhotra) and aunt (Ratna Pathak). Karan and Charan have their respective love of their lives, but the guardians have some other plans. Kartar Singh (Anil Kapoor) tries to come to their rescue , but instead creates more chaos unkowngly. In due course how the marriage problem becomes more complex and how its resolved forms the rest of the film.

The movies basis is age old. Confusion due to twins has been beaten to death after its usage for decades together. So, there is lot of predictablity in the film and unoriginal at many levels. Also, the dialogues overtly rely on Sardar jokes which gets on to the nerves. The movie also has too many songs for its genre and they aren’t great either, making the film unnecessarily a long film longer.
Overall, some scenes pack their punch, and some fail in an attempt to do so. Some slapstick comedy is good in parts, but the one liners were awful. The second half sometimes has a snail’s pace.

The movie has been shot with rich visuals and high production values, making it appealing for the eyes.

This is the first comedy film for Arjun Kapoor and he carries it off well, in dual role. However its his uncle Anil Kapoor as Kartar Singh who steals the show. His energy transforms well into comedy. He takes the limelight from his real life nephew. Pavan Malhotra and Ratna being stalwarts essayed their roles well. Athiya Shetty has a long way to go and Illleana and Neha Sharma were usual. The purposr of having them on board is glamour and needs no explanation. Otherwise, Illeana has been supporting well in comedy genres so far like Main Tera Hero, Happy Ending and now Mubarakaan.

Overall, the no-brainer does succeed in evoking some laughter but not sufficient enough. High time Anees Bazmee disassociates himself with the Sikh protagonist/ marriage / family setting obsession and comes up with something new.

The names Mohit Suri and Chetan Bhagat more or less assure a minimum guarantee movie seeing the pattern of their success rate. The product of their combination is Half Girfriend and provides bare minimum entertainment and nothing more. Entertainment, not in conventional terms but the hard core love story it talks about touches the hearts only bare minimum.

Adapted from Chetan Bhagat’s novel is Half Girlfriend, which is not so novel, but however ready-made to be made into a film. The story is about an unrequited love of MadhavJha (Arjun Kapoor) who hails from Bihar from a royal family but struggles to speak English. He comes for his graduation in B.A (Sociology) to Delhi and falls in love at first sight with Riya (Shraddha Kapoor). Riya’s primary language of speech is English owing to come from a family of opulence. They slowly fall for each other, but Riya wants to take it slow. But an incident drifts them apart and the rest of the movie of is Madhav’s quest for Riya and thirst for Riya’s love.

The major drawback of the movie is its lack of depth. The movie travels on a very thin story line without any layers for the characters. It tries to bank on some cheesy punch lines by the characters which get annoying as they repeat. Some scenes desperately try to get whistles but fail. Sometimes it gets too naively manipulative. There is a scene where Bill Gates appears as a vfx and its ridiculous. However, some scenes in the film are heart touching, especially during Madhav’s internship in New York. The girl whom Madhav’s friend try to hook him up was amazing. Her 10 minutes of screen presence put Sharddha’s performance to shame. Shraddha was lifeless in the film. After writing, she contributes to the minuses of the film. When playing the Half Girlfriend, she hardly made an impact. Neither her problems evoke empathy, nor does her smile bring a glow. She ended up being a piece of wood.

Arjun Kapoor scored well, if not outstanding. His Bihari English was artificial to the core, but he tries his best to be Madhav. He could pull off the role. Especially the never give up attitude and the soft heart. Seema Biswas makes a cameo and was good as usual, and Vikrant Massey was top-class.

AS major plus point of the film is its soundtrack. The movie is filed with touching numbers. Mohit Suri has a wonderful taste in music right from his Kalyug days. Every album of his films hots the bulls eye and so does Half Girlfriend. Thoidi Der Aurrukja song is used as a theme and doesn’t get boring though it appears 5 times in the film.

On the whole Half Girlfriend is average. Half-gripping and half-boring.

Goan beauty Ileana, who is currently having an itsy bitsy career in Bollywood, will soon be seen romancing young hero Arjun Kapoor in an upcoming film titled ‘Mubarkaan’.

Ileana revealed that as this was her first pairing with Arjun, she was a bit worried about how they will bond. She added that a common quality, their love for Punjabi food, made them connect instantly and that resulted in a great on-screen chemistry. The first look of Mubarkaan was released the other day.

Before migrating to Bollywood, Ileana was at the top of her game in the south. Her irreplaceable Hour Glass figure has what her most wanted actress and the darling of youth. She added that she strictly follows diet to maintain that sleek figure but that she can’t resist herself when it comes to Punjabi food.

From the trailers and the movies Bollywood had fed, Ki and Ka might appear as a rom-com followed by a tiff and then a reconciliation. Fortunately Ki and Ka is not like that. It is neither a rom-com, nor there is a big fight nor there a dramatic reconciliation. Ki and Ka is much more beyond that. If rightly said then this is in an educative movie. The movie defines a MARD to both men and women.

Kia (Kareena Kapoor) is an ambitious, successful, hard-working corporate woman. She dreams big and consistently works towards it. A purely independent person who doesn’t want to end up being just a support system to a successful husband. At the same time, she is no feminist nor intentionally wants to be ahead of men. She just wants to give her best in the career. Destiny makes her meet Kabir (Arjun Kapoor) who is an IIM topper and son of multi-millionaire. Kabir however has an aversion to career, ambition and goals. His mother is role model for him as she had been the biggest support system by being a dutiful and sincere housewife. With such views, both of them feel that they are a perfect match where Kia has no obstructions in reaching greater heights of career and Kabir gets to do what he likes, i.e ‘Ghar ka dekh bal’. The rest of the movie is about how they lead their married life. No twists and No nonsense.

Director Balki can be trusted blindly for coming up with unconventional scripts especially the progressiveness factor in them. Right from the first scene of the film you can feel that. For instance, in a wedding party, Kia asked to join for a dance by a guy. She politely refuses. When the guy insists, she says she cannot join because its periods time. The concept of the film is as progressive. The movie doesn’t waste much time in spending the time on rom-com during the love-story phase. It quickly passes that phase and enters the main content. It delves into their life i.e how would the overall picture look like when the girl is totally focused on work and the guy is totally focused on the ‘ghar’.

The conversations between the lead pair are so well written with simple lines. They were delivered so naturally too. The age difference is clearly seen, but however Balki upfront establishes Kabir three years younger to Kia. Arjun Kapoor gives a matured performance. Would rate it probably the best of his so far. It’s a tough role which needs so much balance he absolutely nailed it without over-doing it anywhere. Kareena gets a relatively easy role though, and she was decent enough. Swaroop Sampat , who acted as Kareena’s mother has a good screen presence and so was Rajit Kapur who played a typical MCP (Male Chavunistic Pig).

The only drawback was on the sound part. It didn’t really have a great music and background score. However, it is totally compensated by the amazing conversations and scenes happening on the video side.

What makes the movie apart is the message it tries to give by not being dramatic or formulaic, but at its own pace and required moments. The beautiful message is that it’s not about Ki or Ka but it’s about Ki+Ka. This statement is vague but what exactly goes into making a good Ki+Ka, one should watch the movie.

Young actor Arjun Kapoor recently slapped a Radio Jockey (RJ) for asking a disgusting question. Arjun not only slapped RJ, he even threw a camera on the ground.

But, hold on guys. This is not so serious. It was apparently just a prank to promote his upcoming film Ki and Ka starring Arjun and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film is slated to release April 1, which happens to be April Fools’ Day, and thus, the Radio Mirchi team and Arjun collaborated to play the prank on its viewers.

In the video, the RJ is seen asking Arjun whether he has run out of characters to play, and that is why he is playing a girly character in Ki and Ka. Arjun instantly slaps the RJ, asking what kind of a disgusting question that is. Although it was just a prank, the team made it look quite real.

Directed by R Balki, Ki and Ka will present Arjun as a house-husband and Kareena will play the role of a working wife. On the other side, Kareena is an ambitious woman, who runs the house financially. Ki and Ka is a romantic comedy drama that challenges the orthodox gender roles in Indian society.

The recently launched party song `High Heels` from ‘Ki and Ka’ starring Bollywood actors Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor has garnered more than 30 lakhs views on YouTube.

The energetic dance number shows Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor showing their dance skills on dance floor. The most eye-catching part of this track was seeing Arjun Kapoor dancing in a pair of high heels.

The forthcoming romantic comedy ‘Ki and Ka’ revolves around a married couple, whose relationship challenges the rules imposed on married couple in the Indian society. Arjun plays a house husband while Kareena plays a career oriented woman in this film directed by R. Balki.

It also stars real-life couple Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan in special roles. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on 1st April.
