The 63rd National Film Awards have just been announced and two of the most talented actors have been bestowed with top awards.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been awarded the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in ‘Piku’. The cult film also had excellent performances from leggy lass Deepika Padukone and acclaimed actor Irrfan Khan.

This is 4th National film award for Bachchan. In the past, Big B was awarded in the same category for Agneepath, Black and Paa.

Queen Kangana Ranaut was awarded the Best Actress for her natural performance in commercial blockbuster film ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. The movie cemented Kangana’s position as queen of Bollywood.

This is her 3rd National Film Award as in the past Kangana Ranaut has won the National Awards for ‘Queen’ and ‘Fashion’ in Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress Categories respectively.

Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif went down on her knees to greet legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan at the just concluded HT Style Awards.

Amitabh Bachchan was seated along with wife Jaya Bachchan in the front row. Katrina Kaif didn’t want Amitabh Bachchan to stand up to greet her, so she decided to go down on her knees to shake hands with the megastar. Katrina knows where to give due respect, and she gave it to Amitabh Bachchan.

Legendary Telugu singer S P Balasubramanyam has come out in support of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan over the controversy related to his rendition of the National Anthem ahead of the India vs Pakistan WT20 cricket clash.

It is known that a Delhi-based lawyer has lodged a police complaint against Big Bachchan claiming that he sang the national anthem in 1 minute 22 seconds and violated the guidelines of Indian government restricting the time to 52 seconds.

“I was really moved by the way Sri Amitabh Bachchan ji rendered our National Anthem in Kolkata the other day. It was dignified, in perfect pitch and perfect pronunciation,” posted Balasubramanyam on Facebook.

“Somebody filed a PLC against him saying that his singing was a few seconds more than the prescribed duration for singing the National Anthem. Is there a law like that? Surprise!!!.How could nobody mention anything about the duration of the National Anthem sung by Lathaji, BhimSenJoshiji, Balamuraliji and lots of others in which I too participated,” wondered Balasubramanyam?

“Sir, the judges are struggling to find time to dispose off pending cases. Is it necessary that one would add another pain in their neck? There are plenty of issues in the country. If possible let us help to solve them. Let us not find petty ways to seek publicity. Let us be magnanimous.I really feel proud when AB sir sang the Anthem. Hats off to you, Sir,” posted Balasubramanyam, who won the National Award for best male playback singer six times.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has revealed that he is a TB survivor.

The superstar revealed that he was diagnosed with TB on the day he started shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) in 2000. He recalled it was a time of immense pain and he was on strong medication to relieve from pain.

“In 2000, I was detected with TB and went through a very rigorous treatment for almost a year. I contracted TB on the day I was going to start TV show KBC. It was a TB of spine. It’s very uncomfortable. You cannot sit or lie down. Most of the time, I was on 8-10 pain killers a day just to survive the period when I was anchoring the game show,” the megastar said ahead of World Tuberculosis Day on March 24.

“Many people ask me why I contribute my services to the medical cause. I have had a complicated medical history. One of the reasons I took up TB is because I am a TB survivor,” Big B said.

“The reason I disclosed is that I felt that the word survivor is somehow is a very powerful word. When I say I am TB survivor, it seems like I survived a plane crash or boat sinking. If you survive that, it lends a lot of power and strength to what you are saying deeper. It’s like saying that I have survived it because I went through a process,” he said.

It was commendable from the actor to create awareness among people about the disease.

Amitabh Bachchan said that he lucky left the venue of the Make in India event just before massive fire broke out on Sunday evening.

Amitabh thanked all his fans for sending prayers and asking for his well-being soon after the fire incident. Amitabh walked off to get into his car to leave the place after performing on the stagebut the production team of event asked him to return to meet Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. He politely denied and later made a lengthy post on his blog to explain how it happened.

“I ask to be excused. It would be a breach of protocol, from my side… I would meet up with him later… and leave… Ansms comes to me soon after… ‘Are you safe?’

“I am puzzled, I respond with a yes but why and then come to know of the fire that had immediately after my departure from the stage burst in and has engulfed the entire surrounding… The stage is gutted, it was massive in size, and anxious calls begin to come in, from all those that were seeing the programme on TV live.”

“Thank you all that have inquired from me of my well-being and for all the prayers,” wrote the 73-year-old legend.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and internationally famous actress Priyanka Chopra will be replacing superstar Aamir Khan as the new ambassadors of the Incredible India campaign. An official announcement regarding this will be made on or after January 26.

It is known that Aamir Khan was stripped of his role for his alleged remarks on intolerance in India.It may be noted that Aamir Khan had been the face of the government’s campaign to promote the tourism for over ten years.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has recently got surprised by a minute earthquake. The star was in Kolkata for shooting of one of his films when he observed a table in front of him shaking.

Although he first thought some maintenance work is in progress in the hotel, he was later informed by the staff that it was a minor earthquake. He added that no damage was done. Big B took to twitter to share this info.

“Sitting on my table in Kolkata and its been shaking for a while .. thinking its some machine work going on .. NO ..Earthquake !!

Hotel staff just confirms and it is an EARTHQUAKE .. !! No damage here .. all well so far .. Hope all else is well elsewhere too !!”, tweeted Bachchan.

Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has donated his favorite ‘Silsila’ jacket to the needy as a part of cloth donating initiative on Friday.

As a part of ‘Clothes Box’ programme held by Delhi students, Amitabh Bachchan was approached to join this programme that donates old clothes to the needy and poor. Big B, who was impressed with this idea, immediately joined hands with the youngsters and visited an ongoing construction site in Mumbai.

Big B gave away many clothes of his that were lying in his home. While donating the clothes Amitabh, randomly picked by a jacket that was very close to his heart. This was from the 1981 film ‘Siisila’ which Amitabh preserved it as the film remembrance. This jacket is donated to an old construction worker. While giving away this jacket, Amitabh reminded the worker about this jacket.

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar’s much awaited thriller movie Wazir official theatrical trailer is out now. Actors like Aditi Rao Hydari, Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham played the other lead roles in the movie. It is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Amitabh plays the role of Omkarnath in the movie and Neil Nitin Mukesh will be seen in a negative role.

The movie is all set to rock the big screens worldwide on January 8, 2016.

It is well known that Superstar Rajinikanth will start working on ‘Robot 2’ after completing his current flick ‘Kabali.’ Sensational director Shankar has been working hard to rope in well-known actors to make the film a humongous one.

As per latest reports, Amitabh Bachchan has the huge scope of sharing the screen with Rajni in this film as Shankar has recently narrated the script to him. Rajni and Amitabh shared the screen in few Hindi movies in the past. But this will be the first Tamil film to have the iconic actors together.

Shankar also is in discussions with Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, and Amy Jackson to play leading ladies. Regular shooting of this graphic extravaganza will start in January 2016.

Shankar is also trying to rope Hollywood actor Arnold for Robot 2. There was a news that he allotted 36 days for the shooting of Robot 2.

Bollywood versatile actors Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Vidya Balan, will be seen together in a film titled “TE3N”.

Ribhu Dasgupta has roped these three actors for his suspense thriller. In this flick, Vidya Balan will play a crucial role that will receive applause from everyone, said producer Sujoy Ghosh.

Speaking more about this film, Sujoy revealed that once he along with director Ribhu met Amitabh Bachchan in Kolkata for some event. These three gathered together and discussed films. In between of their conversation Ribhu spoke about a true incident that happened be chilling and many of us were not aware of it. Inspired by what Ribhu said, Big B encouraged him to develop a story around this and assured Ribhu that he will act in the film.

After developing the story, Ribhu immediately narrated the script to Amitabh, who got impressed and signed to do the film. Convinced by the story and screenplay Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan too agreed to do this film.

Titled as “Teen,” this thriller revolves around three main characters.

This film will commence its regular shooting from November and will conclude in January 2016. Though Vidya Balan has a very limited character in the film, it will surely stun the audience, said Ribhu.

“Dhoom” series is always fascinating while watching. Even before a sequel of this series starts, gossips run through media with speculations and expectations.

Following “Dhoom” was “Dhoom 2,” which started Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai as the male and female lead. The interesting part of the series is that the negative role of the film has more importance than any other. Hence, heroes opt for such negative character in this series.

It is been eleven years since the first part came. In the first part, it was John Abraham who was the negative lead. Starting from this two more films followed in series.

In the 3rd part, i.e., “Dhoom 3,” it was Aamir Khan who stole the show. The film is taken to another level by Aamir’s performance. Additional to this was Katrina’s glamour. Though the film couldn’t do well from critic’s point of view, collections were huge for this film. It grossed around 500+cr worldwide and stood as one of the highest collectors in Indian Cinema.

With earning such name and fame the producer’s of Dhoom- Yash Raj Films are planning another part of these thriller series. “Dhoom 4” has begun its pre-production work and will go on to the sets from next year.

Hrithik Roshan, who played the lead in “Dhoom 2,” will once again appear in the negative character for “Dhoom 4.” Interestingly rumours also have that “Big B” Amitabh Bachchan is also doing a role in this film. His role is whether a positive one or a negative one is yet to be confirmed.
