Sarkar is undoubtedly one of the best works of Rag Gopal Varma. The thought of a figure like Raj Thakrey being enacted by a figure like Amitabh Bachan is worth a million. The way Big B carried out such a role was splendid. Then comes its sequel after 3 years starring Aishwarya Rai and somewhat managed to hold the attention if not as much as original. The third one in the installment releases today. Does it worsen like the second or regains the glory of the first part?

Sarkar 3 continues to show Subash Nagre (Amitabh Bachan) as the lord of the people. However, like every time there are problems internally and externally. Internally, when his grandson Shivaji (Amit Sadh) shows his interest to join his grandfather. Shivaji is the son of Vishnu (played brilliantly bu Kay Kay Menon), who was killed in part1. This triggers a cold feet among the internals, creating a fear of hwat their future would be. The chances of them turning vulnerable to the external rivals arises. On the other hand there is Yami Gautam who plays Amit Sadh’s girlfriend, and she herself is shown to have ulterior motives. There are also other characters like Manoj Bajpayee and Jackie Shroff who play roles in the whole drama. The rest of the film is about the motives, the clashes and the twists.

Merely having Amitabh Bachan and highlighting his histrionics as Shubash Nagre won’t fetch any brownie points. Even a legend like BigB needs a good script. The first half of the film somewhat garners some interest creating who is up to what. However, as the film progresses, all you will be bugged about is by the theme track of Sarkar. The writing is boring. The interest gradually falls after the interval and as we approach the end, we pray that let this be the last of series and not spoil the brand anymore.

On top of that, there are characters which are half baked. They are brought in with a curiousness but suddenly cut off. Manoj Bajpayee, for instance is given a very crucial space, and his whereabouts disappear and we wonder why. Yami Gautam is also given a hype, but restricted to an extension of her fairness ad. Amit Sadh has been very choosy about his projects and hasn’t seen any real success yet. In Sarkar3, he was good but not good enough to stand out and take any accolades. Accolades are obviously taken by Bachaan though. He is consistent as Nagre, but it was so clear that he has trusted RGV blindly and agreed to do this film. Ronit Roy was OK.

Sarkar 3 falls into one of those n misses by RGV. His last good film (though a box office disaster) was 26/11. The recent interview of RGV with Bachaan was much better and entertaining than the film itself.

Writer cum lyricist cum author Sirasri who is well known as the right hand of controversial maker RGV has got a golden chance in Bollywood.

We know that RGV has made the third part Sarkar-3 in the franchise of Sarkar with Megastar Amitabh Bachchan Ji in Bollywood. With his friendship with RGV, Sirasri writes songs for RGV’s songs in Telugu. But his friendship has made him grab a chance to write a song for Amitabh in Hindi. Probably this is the first time a lyricist in South is writing a Hindi song in the history of Indian Cinema. This song written by Sirasri will be sung by Amitabh himself about Lord Ganesha. Talking to the media, Sirasri claims that he was so excited to write a song for the living Legend of Indian Cinema and he shall be thankful for Varma in his life for this chance.

The movie Sarkar-3 has completed all the pre-release formalities and is waiting to get released soon in Hindi and also in Telugu in some parts of the Telugu states.

If you were looking forward to the third installment of Sarkar, you might have to wait a little longer. The release date of Amitabh Bachchan’s next Sarkar 3 is postponed. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Sarkar 3 which was initially supposed to release on April 7, is now scheduled to release on May 12.

Eros International issued an official statement regarding the release date being postponed. “We, at Eros along with @SrBachchan, @RGVzoomin and Wave took a mutual decision to postpone the release of Sarkar 3 to 12th May 2017!,” reads the tweet on the official Twitter handle of Eros Now. Citing issues related to production, they tweeted further saying, “This delay is due to delay in post production work! #Sarkar3.”

The trailer of Sarkar 3 was out a couple of weeks ago, and it received a great response from viewers. For those who have been ardent followers of the Sarkar, franchise loved every bit of the trailer. Sarkar 3 also features Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpai, Ronit Roy, Rohini Hattangadi, Amit Sadh and Yami Gautam in lead roles.

According to latest reports, in order to ensure the movie gets its due in North Circuit, popular filmmakers are reportedly planning to remake the film with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. The film was also dubbed in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Malay languages. But it seems like, to gain the attention of Bollywood audience, a Kabali remake in Hindi is on its way. Amitabh Bachchan might get into the skin of Rajinikanth’s role in the remake. However, an official confirmation about the same is still awaited.

A source close to Big B said, “Bachchan will star in the remake of Kabali. The reason Rajini’s Tamil films don’t do well when dubbed in Hindi is that they are very culture-specific. Kabali is set in the Tamil community in Malaysia. The flavor, culture and dialogues are all peculiar to the Tamil community.”

Rajinikanth and Big B have worked together in movies like Andha Kanoon, Geraftaar, and Hum. They share a great camaraderie and have huge respect for each other. In fact, many Hindi films starring Big B were remade in Tamil with Rajinikanth.

The latest buzz is that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will produce Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar’s ‘Thala 58’ under his home banner Amitabh Bachchan Corporation.

If everything goes as per plan, the 73-year-old legendary actor will be producing his second Tamil film. This will also be his second collaboration with Ajith. Amitabh had earlier produced Ajith and Vikram starrer Ullaasam in 1997. It is now speculated that Big B is set to make a comeback as Tamil film producer with ‘Thala 58.’

Atlee and Vishnuvardhan are the two directors in the race to helm this project. Thanks to the box office success of Vijay’s Theri, which had minted over Rs100 Crore worldwide, Atlee is one of the frontrunners to helm this project. Vishnuvardhan, who directed Ajith in ‘Billa’ and ‘Arambham,’ is also in the news to direct ‘Thala 58,’ a historical project about a Chola King.

An official confirmation on this is yet to be made.
