Tamil actor Vikram is directing a video song titled ‘Spirit of Chennai’ to pay tribute to the volunteers who gave everything they can to help the victims during the Chennai floods that rocked the capital city of Tamil Nadu few days back.

A 6-minute video showcasing visuals of the devastating flood was already released, and the full version featuring several stars is expected to be unveiled on January 26, the eve of Republic Day. We hear that from Tollywood, Prabhas will be gracing the song. Puneet Rajkumar from sandalwood and Nivin Pauly from Mollywood will join a slew of celebs from Kollywood including Vijay and Suriya.

The shooting of the song already started at Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha in Chennai, and it will be ending by 10th of January.

Actress Rambha donates Rs 5 Lakh to flood victims

Yester year actress Rambha is reported of donating a sum of Rs 5 Lakh to the Chennai Flood victims. Rambha, who married Indhran Pathmanathan in 2010 and settled in Canada, got to know some serious news about the floods and the impact that left upon the Chennaities. Moved by the troubles that the Chennaities are facing, Rambha and her husband have decided to donate money to the flood affected victims.

Rambha, though begun her career as a heroine in Telugu Cinema has also did films that turned out to become super hits in Tamil. As a thankful gesture for the people of Tamil and Chennai, Rambha has donated this money. This money was sent to the Nadigar Sangam by a close relative of the heroine.

On the other hand, fans of her are eagerly waiting for her comeback into films.

Though, Rambha is far away from Chennai she still managed to show her love and affection towards Chennai. Great full gesture.

Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma had stunned everyone when he tweeted that Pawan has donated Rs 2 Crore for the relief of Chennai victims. Media people immediately crosschecked with their sources to find out that RGV was just trolling Pawan for his no response.

Homeless Hero Siddharth Goes Emotional

Tamil Hero Siddharth has been one celebrity who has been continuously posting about the updates and mobilizing the people across Chennai during the time of floods. He, who called upon the flood victims to come and stay in his home, is now homeless.

Siddharth whose residence is in Chennai was filled with water past one week. While Siddharth got back from his relief measures, he was shocked to see such scenario. “I freaked out that I had lost my house for the first time… three studios, three cars… And then I felt bad for the middle class who lost so much in just one day,” said the actor.

He permitted that the use of social media during the time of calamity was positive as well as contradictory. “When there was this time of calamity, it wasn’t as bad as the social media saw it,” said Siddharth.

The actor further admitted that ‘This was the first time where the volunteers outnumbered the victims and happy to see that.”

When asked about the Tamil Nadu government’s relief measures in handling the floods, Siddharth said, “We can’t blame anyone for the natural calamity. I don’t think any state government can bring the state to an alright situation within five days.”

Shah Rukh Khan Donates Rs 1 cr for Chennai

Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan is reported of donating a sum of Rs 1 Cr to the flood victims of Chennai. Shah Rukh, who was touched by the pain of Chennaities, has donated this amount on behalf of his production company Red Chilies Entertainment.

Shah Rukh hoped that the God might help the people of Chennai through nature’s fury which was strong upon them, let’s face and fight it.

Chennai city that was struck with heavy rains resulted in floods and leaving the city drown in the flood water. The Chennaities daily life was hit so badly that their routine was affected and left them in immediate crisis. Basic needs such as electricity, food, petrol and other such necessities were obstructed from reach.

Reacting to what happened in Chennai actors across the Tamil Industry and Telugu Industry donated money, food and other basic needs.

Tamil heroes Rajnikanth, Suriya, Karthi, Vishal, Vijay and Siddharth contributed their hand with giving money and other needs.

Telugu Heroes Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, Jr.NTR, Prabhas donated money to Tamil Nadu CM relief fund. Recently, a group of Tollywood actors visited few malls across Hyderabad and collected money, water bottles, food and sent those to Chennai.

Chennai Flood victims get more support from Tollywood

Heavy rains that resulted in Chennai city with huge floods left people starving for food and other necessary food supplies. People across the nation along with The South actors are contributing their part to help the needy who are affected because of these floods.

As part of it Tollywood heroes Allu Arjun, Jr.NTR, Kalyan Ram, Mahesh Babu and few others donated money in favour Chennaities. Additional to this, younger generation actors Nani and Rakul Preet Singh are doing their best in favour of the victims.

Nani, who is currently shooting for Hanu Raghavapudi’s next film, has taken out some time to bring in some donations and send them to Chennai. In his Twitter, Nani tweeted saying that he along with nine other stars will be present at Inorbit Mall, Manjeera Mall and Kukatpally Forum Malls on Sunday, December 6th from 4-7Pm to collect money and send it to Chennai. #manamadraskosam has been his Twitter hashtag.

Supporting him, young actress Rakul Preet Singh tweeted saying, “A Small initiative from a group of TFI actors to help the victims of Chennai Floods. Trucks will leave from Ramanaidu studio. Please send whatever you feel like to Ramanaidu Studios Film Nagar, we will ensure that it is sent to Chennai.”

Music Maestro Ilayaraja has distributed food packets in the Little Flower School and it has been badly affected due to the flood water.

Ilayaraja, who is 72, has got to know about the worst condition that the children are going through via Facebook and Radio messages. Touched by this, Ilayaraja decided to visit the school. Though he was cautioned about the risk factor of visiting there, Raja took the decision of distributing food and water to the children.

After reaching to school in a boat, Ilayaraja met the children and spoke to them politely. He assured them that God is always with them, and they need not worry about anything.

In the meeting with the children, Ilayaraja sang a devotional song and filled the pupil with some confidence. Children who were deeply moved by the Maestro’s act touched his hands and feet in tears.

Chennai-that has been hit by a severe flood, has been suffering from lack of food, power and other necessaries. Film dignitaries across Tamil Nadu and Telugu Industry have been making few donations and helping the flood-affected people.

As a part of it, Ilayaraja too contributed his hand and helped the blind children.

The initial scene of the Baahubali shows a child being saved by Sivagami. Now, someone has edited it with Jayalalitha’s, making it look like as she is saving people from floods. Interestingly, the posters are placed it in the flood-hit regions.

Now, social media is fuming over these posters. Many believe that Jayalalitha, known for craving for promotion herself, has done this silly and nonsense act.

Rajinikanth and Vijay’s Shelter for Flood Victims

Two superstars of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Vijay came forward to offer shelter for the victims of Tamil Nadu floods. Since many people have lost homes due to rains, Rajini and Vijay offered their respective Kalyana Mandapams as a temporary stay.

Rajinikanth’s Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Kodambakkam and Shoba Kalyana Mandapam in Saligramam of Vijay, have been offered by the two superstars for people. Rajnikanth has already donated Rs 10 Lakh for the relief of the victims.

We have already reported that Tollywood stars have donated big amounts towards the relief works.

Rajinikanth canceled the shooting of his forthcoming film Kabali and Vijay also canceled the shooting of Theri to help the flood victims of Tamilnadu people. Recently Vijay’s 59th film Theri first look posters released and it is said to be a actin revenge drama entertainer.

Controversial King Ram Gopal Varma has once again shown his anger over the celebrities who donated lakh of rupees to the flood affected victims in Chennai. RGV responded in his style over God for not showing mercy over Chennaites.

In his Twitter, RGV asked few questions, lashed over few donations and made some suggestions to the Chennaities for simply believing in God and treating film stars as gods. He asked whether all the people of Chennai are sins. If they aren’t then why is God punishing them?

Comparing the heavy floods in Chennai as an act of terrorism, RGV said that he is feeling angry over the god’s act of doing so. No act of any Terrorist in the world can create more tragedy than what the act of God created in Chennai, said Ram Gopal Varma.

Giving his sympathy to the Chennaities, Ram Gopal felt sad for them. He felt angry over the god and has no harsh words to address him for his disastrous act.

After showing his anger over God, RGV chose few celebs who are praying to God of the recovery of Chennai. He said that he is condemning all the celebs who are praying to God for Chennai.

He targeted Telugu heroes who donated few Lakhs to Chennaities. He tweeted those in Telugu so that those stars can be addressed correctly.

Finally, he has a simple question “Why Rajnikanth didn’t do anything to stop the rain?”
