Talented director Mahi V Raghav made his debut in the industry with the film Paathashala. But it was horror comedy Aandho Brahma which brought him fame. Recently, he came up with his third directorial venture Yatra, which was based on the Padayatra of YS Rajashekhar Reddy.

Now, Mahi’s fourth film has been announced earlier this morning. Titled as Syndicate, it will be produced by one of the top production houses of Telugu film industry, PVP Cinemas. The production house has announced the news through their official Twitter handle. 

“Happy to announce our next project with director @MahiVraghav titled #SYNDICATE. An action-drama rolling soon… Stay tuned for more updates!#PVPCinema.” More details regarding this new project are expected to be announced soon.

Yatra director Mahi V Raghav made an interesting point to the media about the industry’s talk that the film did not deserve the right attention. Mahi V Raghav penned an open letter to the public and media where he mentioned his views on this issue. In his letter, Mahi said that he does not want to ask anyone for praise.

“Yatra will be a part of history. YSR Garu will be remembered and respected across generations for his compassion, humility, kindness, leadership, and generosity. It hurts to see his fans and admirers with all their good Intentions wanting celebrities to endorse or acknowledge Yatra. More than me it is YSR garu’s story and he doesn’t seek or ask for any praise. It is an insult to my work and my way of life. I tell a story for the joy of telling it. The moment we seek others acceptance or acknowledgment we become beggars. The only time I am a beggar is when I write. I beg the universe to whisper the story to me. I always have gratitude to the story, producers and the audience who gave me an opportunity to tell my story.” said Mahi V Raghav.

In a specially organized private screening of Yatra that was organized last evening at Prasad Film Laboratories in Hyderabad, YS Vijayamma, the wife of legendary politician YS Rajasekhar Reddy watched the movie and expressed her happiness over the depiction of several incidents that took place in her husband’s life.

During the interaction with the media post the screening, YS Vijayamma is seen with all happiness and showered appreciation on the film’s director and producers.

“I appreciate director Mahi, producers Vijay, Shashi, and Shiva for making this movie. I also thank them for coming up with this project. I liked the film and it is very real. YSR is our favorite leader who worked hard for the betterment of the public. He introduced various welfare schemes for the public. It is time that people should think about it once again.” said Vijayamma.

It is very common to see biopics landing in troubles over many issues, just as the release date nears. The latest entrant of the list is Yatra, which is based on the life of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajashekhar Reddy. Directed by Mahi V Raghav, this film has Mammootty as the lead reprising the role of YSR.

Now, the film has landed in legal trouble as M Murugan of Sri Saai Lakshmi Pictures filed a case on the film over the title row. Murugan claimed that he registered the title and the script long back in Film and Television Guild of South India. The court will hear the case on 6th February in Chennai.

Murugan also added that his film is gearing for the release by this month’s end. The shoot of Yatra has been wrapped up and the film is slated to release worldwide on February 8.

When asked about the role of Chandrababu Naidu in the film, Mahi said that he didn’t require Babu’s role for the story he has in mind and hence, the film will not feature Babu’s part. Noted actors like Jagapathi Babu and Anasuya played pivotal roles in this much-anticipated film.

Directed by Mahi Raghav, the shooting of the movie has begun. The fresh schedule of the shooting of YATRA began in Hyderabad today and Mammootty joins the set.
