The team of Dear Comrade flew to Mumbai a couple of days before the release of the film and screened it for Bollywood’s ace director-producer Karan Johar. After watching the film, Karan immediately tweeted that he is going to remake the film in Hindi and bought the rights of it.
Cut to the next few days, Dear Comrade received a divided talk from the audience and performed below par the expectations across South India. Finally, the film ended up as a loss venture though it got good openings during the first weekend. On the flip side, Karan has been trying to approach many actors for this remake.
At first, he contacted Shahid Kapoor but the Kabir Singh actor didn’t show any interest. Later, he also spoke with the likes of Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh but both of them are busy with few projects in hand. Thus, Karan has kept the remake idea aside as of now and we don’t know when will he reconsider it again.
