The upcoming biopic which has been grabbing the attention of the audience these days is ‘George Reddy’. Sandeep Kumar of ‘Vangaveeti’ fame is essaying the role of George Reddy in the film.

It is known that George Reddy was one of the most popular student leaders who played a crucial role in the student movements in Osmania University from 1962 to 1972. He was assassinated at Osmania University hostel in 1972. Directed by Jeevan Reddy, the biopic on George Reddy has been making the right noises on social media. Today, the makers have come up with the official first look poster of the movie which features Sandeep Kumar in George Reddy’s Avatar. Sandeep Kumar is looking exactly like George Reddy and we can say that he is going to do 100 percent justice to his role in the film.

Satya Dev, Shatru and Naveen Bethiganti are playing crucial roles in this film. Appi Reddy under Mic Movies banner is funding this project. Suresh Bobbili is composing tunes for this bilingual movie which will hit the screens in Telugu and Tamil languages.

Maverick Ram Gopal Varma planned a grand pre-release event of the film Vangaveeti yesterday in Hyderabad. Many directors have made their presence at the event and wished for the success of the movie. The film is releasing on 23rd of this month. The film is made on Rama Dutha Creations banner. Dasari Kiran Kumar is the producer of the movie. The event was named Shiva to Vangaveeti.

After organizing a grand audio release function in Vijayawada, now Varma is planning to hold a massive pre-release function in Hyderabad. Guess who is attending this event as chief guests? Its Akkineni Nagarjuna and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Varma himself has divulged this info and also announced the date, 20th December, two days ahead of the film’s release date, 23rd Dec.

Varma has already met the Vangaveeti family members and later he admitted that he was cautioned against having controversial content in the film.

Although Varma had allegedly received several threats, he didn’t deter and finished the shooting. The ‘Kamma Kapu’ song from the movie, which was already released, however turned controversial with the lyrics looking potentially demeaning.

After a few members of those respective castes lodged a petition against the film I the High Court, Varma and film’s producer Dasari Kiran Kumar have released a joint statement saying they had decided to remove the ‘Kamma Kapu’ song. After the voluntary decision of the makers ahead of the hearing, the High Court on Friday wrote off the case.

The film’s audio launch event is scheduled to be held in Vijayawada on 3rd December. The film’s theatrical release date will be announced soon.

The project has attracted controversies ever since it was announced. Varma created a storm in the Telugu states by visiting Vijayawada to gather information about the real-life story of the two powerful families or communities in the city to portray it on the silver screen. In spite of the threats, Varma went ahead to cast and introduce the characters via Twitter.

After that, Varma shifted his base to Mumbai and got busy with the Hindi version of ‘Killing Veerappan’, leading people to believe that ‘Vangaveeti’ was shelved. But, latest reports suggest that the last schedule is being filmed, and shoot will be wrapped up soon.

With a budget of over 30 crores, the film is going to be the highest budget movie ever in Sandalwood. Star hero of sandalwood, Sudeep will play the title role and inside news is that a top Bollywood heroine will be roped in to play the role of his wife. Rai will hit floors once RGV is finished with Vangaveeti.

Despite being a star hero in Kannada, Sudeep did villainy in Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’ and later played a cameo in ‘Baahubali’.
