The long awaited Suriya and Amala Paul’s comedy-drama movie “Memu” is finally set to release on July 1st.

Earlier, it was officially declared that the film will be released on November 27th, but due to many reasons the movie was postponed. Since then the movie was expected to release soon but many times the movie got postponed and now finally after six months of silence, the makers have finally locked the release date.

Memu is the dubbed version of Pasanga-2, the Tamil film directed by Pandiraj. The film focuses on the issue of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) amongst children. The predominantly children’s film stars Suriya, Amala Paul, Ramdoss, Vidya Pradeep, Karthik Kumar, and Bindu Madhavi. To be jointly presented by Studio Green Gnanavel Raja and Suriya’s own 2D Entertainment, the film is produced by Madhusudhan Reddy. The producer says, “This is a film every parent should watch with his/her kid. The Tamil version was praised unanimously by both the Tamil and English-language media. We are planning to release the movie in as many theaters as possible on July 1.”

A football player lodged a police complaint claiming that he was slapped by Tamil Superstar Suriya in Adyar on Monday evening. According to the police, U. Premkumar, a first division football player and his friend Lenin were heading from Broadway to a football ground in Adyar. Lenin on the bike and Praveen riding pillon hit a car going in front of them when it stopped suddenly, which made them lose control and slam into the rear end of the car and fly into the air upon impact.

The driver of the car, who was a woman, came out and began scolding them for rash driving, following which some people also reportedly came in support of the youth. Suriya, who was driving by, reportedly stopped by and intervened in the argument which further heated up the situation and resulted in the actor allegedly slapping the youth, asking why was he fighting with the women.

However, Suriya denied attacking the boys and had claimed that he saw the boys manhandling the women, which is when he tried to rescue her and intervened. The two boys lodged a complaint at Shastri Nagar police station.

‘24’ was released simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil on May 6. The out of the box concept and the intelligent screenplay were lapped up by the audiences and made the film a super hit. The film is still running successfully in most of the theaters it was released. It has seen great success in overseas especially.

The entire unit of ‘24’ is delighted with the success of ‘24’. This is the first Rs 100 Cr grosser for Suriya. Directed by Vikram Kumar, 24 has Samantha and Nithya Menon as female leads. Suriya was in three different roles with one being the villain, Athreya.

Tamil star hero Suriya has apologized for not being able to cast his vote as he is abroad shooting for his upcoming action entertainer ‘S3’.

Suriya has earlier obliged the request of Election Commission to participate in the short video to appeal to the people of Tamil Nadu to cast their vote without a miss to achieve 100 percent polling. Suriya then apologized for missing the polling as he was in foreign, shooting for ‘S3’.

Meanwhile, the polling has been progressing peacefully in Tamil Nadu. Stars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith, Vishal, Arya, Siva Karthikeyan and many others have cast their votes very early to set an example for the people of the state.

Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, who is known to be an avid movie buff, has recently taken his family to the acclaimed sci-fi thriller ’24’ starring Suriya.

Tamil star hero Surya has announced that he will act for free in the film to be produced by Nadigar Sangam to raise funds.

Sangam members like Karthi and Vishal have already stated that they will act for free in this film, which is being made to raise funds for the construction of the office building. Tamil star hero Suriya, who also enjoys the huge market in the Telugu states, has reportedly showed his humanitarian side by saving the life of an elderly woman, who happened to be an accident victim in Chittoor District.

Suriya starrer “Singham 3” shooting was in progress at Edigapalle Village of Madanapally Mandal in Chittoor district. The other night, the shooting of ‘S3’ was completed the late night. On his return journey, Suriya spotted a woman lying on the road after getting severely injured in an accident.

The kind Suriya rushed the woman to a nearby private hospital in Tirupathi in his own car. The woman is out of danger, and she couldn’t thank enough for Suriya’s timely help.

South Indian star hero Suriya has reportedly paused the shooting of his current production venture ‘Singham 3’ so that he can allot time for the promotions of his upcoming release ‘24’.

The unit of ‘S3’ has recently returned to Chennai after finishing a small schedule in Romania. Director Hari has now planned a major schedule in Malaysia but the shooting will only commence after considerable break. Suriya applied these breaks to shooting as he has decided to get busy with the promotions of ‘24’.

Directed by Vikram Kumar of ‘Manam’ fame, ‘24’ has Samantha and NityaMenen playing leading ladies of Suriya. The film is said to be a science fiction thriller and has music by maestro AR Rahman. The released teaser has already received a rousing response. Audio is expected on March 28 and film might release on April 29.

We have seen rare occasions when a Telugu hero has two of his films releasing on the same date.

It happened in the past for Balakrishna Nandamuri and Nani in the recent times when his ‘Aha Kalyanam’ and ‘Paisa’ released on the same date. The same is now happening for a director.

Tamil director Pandiraj’s two Tamil films are now being dubbed into Telugu and releasing on the same date, 18th March. ‘Memu’ starring Suriya, Amala Paul and Bindu Madhavi is one hand while ‘Kathakali’ starring Vishal and Catherine Theresa is on the other hand. In fact, both these dubbed flicks have been postponed numerous times to have a release at Tollywood box office.

Pandiraj holds a rare record now. We have to if he can strike with both the films as it may be noted that both were hits in Tamil.

Meanwhile, the teaser was screened to a select group of audiences, who are now raving about visuals, CG work and scintillating background music of AR Rahman. As per reports, Suriya will appear in as many as five get ups in the teaser itself. One can only imagine what he will do in the entire film.

’24’ is produced by Suriya under 2D Entertainments banner. Beautiful actresses Samantha and Nithya Menen played female leads. As per sources, the film will hit screens on 16th April. The release date can be pushed back in the wake of upcoming assembly polls in Tamil Nadu.

The first look posters of Suriya’s ‘Singam 3’ have been released with the new title. The film is titled S3 with Universal Cop as tag line. It is heard that the title has been changed as per numerology.

The first look posters are rocking with Suriya looking menacing as a powerful cop. As the first two films in ‘Singam’ series have been huge hits, expectations are sky high on the third film. Hari, who directed the first two films, will be directing this one as well. Anushka Shetty, who remained the lover of Suriya in the first two parts, will be his wife in this film.
