Rowdy Star Vijay Devarakonda had to apologize to traffic police the other day, on behalf of his fans. If we get into the story, a bike rider was caught and fined by Hyderabad traffic police the other day, for not having the registration number on the number plate, instead it as the word ‘Rowdy’ etched on it.

The cops have shared the pic on social media as well. Taking the blame on himself, Vijay commented, “I apologize on behalf of the boys, will immediately reach out to all and make them aware.” Soon after that, the Geeta Govindam actor shared a long post on his social media feed, asking fans to stop showering love through such acts.

He tweeted, “When I see you sport Rowdy, I immediately feel we are family. And like I would tell any from my family, do not get into trouble. Show your love to anyone on any other part of the bike, but keep the number plate only for numbers.” Vijay should be commended for taking the blame on himself and hope his fans also follow his advice and stop doing such acts.

Strangely some movies seem to be made for totally different reasons than to tell a story. Say, an awful actor wants to participate in an acting workshop conducted by a big shot director and improve his acting abilities. Or say, the director has some free time, or may be a senior actor who has never come on the screen without his wig wants to try out how it feels without a wig. Thanda Thanda cool cool?

Rowdy directed by the maverick RGV is probably one such example. Not sure if it’s called obsession with the Godfather or being shiftless, but RGV unsurprisingly packs Sarkar again and offers it as a Rowdy.

Anna garu (Mohan Babu) is a people’s man and runs his own parallel government. He is a man of principles and is respected by the junta. Every settlement he does is justified but the methods are violent. A group of bigwigs are keen to execute a multi-crore project which will make some people of the area homeless. Anna garu is a roadblock for them. The rest of the movie is about how the antagonists try to assassin Anna and how Anna and his younger son Krishna (Vishnu) retaliate.

Those who watched Sarkar feel continuous déjà vu moments from the beginning to the end. Except the setting every things look like an irritating imitation of RGV’s own work. Even as a standalone, the movie fails to grip. The film doesn’t maintain a seriousness that it deserves. The introduction scene of Anna garu doing a settlement and his mannerisms is promising. And that’s one of the very few scenes that work in the movie. Later the film becomes very bland.

To make it worse, unnecessary high pitched background score is played at inappropriate places making the effect at the appropriate places void. The love-track is way undercooked, and it’s only a burden.

The culmination lacks any power. There are two typical RGV style characters in the movie- one of them has nothing to do but keep eating pastries and a character keeps drinking water in a Kinley bottle throughout.

Mohan Babu’s look and adopting a different style of performance is the only positive point of the film. Jayasudha is very effective. This is Vishnu’s most bearable performance till date. Kishore gets an important role but the effect is very minimal.

This shoddy Rowdy is an old wine in a new cheap liquor bottle.

Rowdy is a political drama directed by well known director Ram Gopal Varma who with “Rowdy” will be looking to turn around the poor run of his recent movies at the box office. The movie features Mohan Babu, the Telugu cinema legend in a negative role while his elder son Vishnu Manchu will play the role of lead protagonist. Jayasudha, Shanvi Srivastav, Kishore and Tanikella Bharani feature in supporting roles. Sai Kartik has composed the music for this film while Satish Mutyala has handled the cinematography. The trailers are looking very promising and RGV seems to have handled Mohan Babu’s dexterity and intensity in acting very well .

This film also marks the return of Dr. Mohan Babu and Jayasudha to the big screen after more than a decade. The immensely talented, super hit movie Jodi having appeared in a large number of high-grossing films in the past few years will be looking to keep their track record rock-solid with this movie!

The music for the film scored by Sai Karthik is tuned to be a sure fire rocker. The music seems to be in sync with its storyline which will be an added USP of the film.

Director Ramgopal Varma’s upcoming film “Rowdy” has completed its censor formalities and the movie received “A” certificate from the censor board. Now, the movie is all set to hit the big screens on April 4th.The audio of the movie is already out.

As per the latest update, RGV’s directorial starring Dr Mohan Babu, Rowdy will release on April 4th. The film was earlier planned to release on 28th this month, but has been pushed further on. A.V Pictures, the production house stated that the movie will hit the theaters worldwide on 4th.
