Veteran actress Sridevi, who played the role of the queen in Vijay’s ‘Puli’, had recently filed a complaint that the producers of “Puli” owe her Rs 50 lakh remuneration. Makers of “Puli” now released a four-page statement and claimed that Sridevi owes them Rs 20 lakh, but they don’t owe her anything.

Producers of ‘Puli’ said that they agreed to pay Rs 2.7 Crore remuneration along with Rs 30 lakh service tax to Sridevi at the time of signing. However, Sridevi’s husband, Boney Kapoor later demanded the makers that she would participate in the shoot only if she was paid extra for releasing the film in other languages.

Then makers decided to pay her 20 percent of the Hindi satellite rights, Rs 55 lakh and Rs 15 lakh for the Telugu version. Later, Boney Kapoor convinced the makers to release the flick in Hindi by promising that Sridevi has a good market in Hindi. Despite the makers spent Crores just for publicity, the actress didn’t even attend the audio launch.

Veteran actress Sridevi, who made her comeback to the south cinema with Vijay starrer fantasy movie ‘Puli’, during the promotions of the film, claimed that she was treated like a Queen, by the makers, during the shooting time.

After the disaster result of the film, the same Sridevi is involved in a war with the makers over remuneration issue. Sridevi lodged a complaint with Producer’s Council accusing ‘Puli’ makers of not paying her the signing amount.

Sridevi alleged that despite reaching out to them a couple of times, the makers didn’t give her any assurance, so she lodged a complaint. Post the disaster result, this complaint by Sridevi will hurt the makers a lot.

For Puli movie Sridevi also rejected prestigious project Baahubali movie.

Tamil star Hero Vijay’s latest film ‘Puli’ was supposed to hit screens today, all over the world, in Tamil, Telugu ad Hindi. However, as per latest reports, the premiere shows and early morning shows of the socio fantasy are heard to be cancelled.

Although, the exact reason for this is not known yet, an exhibitor said that they have not got permission from Qube, which screens films digitally, to screen the film. Once they get the nod, they will screen the film probably from noon shows.

An insider revealed that since the IT raids happened yesterday on the residences of the makers of ‘Puli’, they could not move funds and pay the dues to Qube and hence they did not get permission from Qube.

It is expected that the film will have release by noon if the dues are cleared. For now, even Telugu ad Hindi versions are stopped.

Veteran Actress Sridevi, who had recently acted in Vijay’s Puli, is aiming high with her comeback film. Much to her disappointment, the producers of the Puli have decided to cut short her role in the film.

In detail: Sridevi, who was approached with the script of Puli by the Director and producer, had heard the script. She was much impressed with her character and gave a nod to act in it. In the process, she allotted the huge number of dates to the director. The film was shot in eight months, and editing of it started last month.

Sridevi was called upon to dub her character, to which she agreed and started giving her voice. After dubbing her character, she realized that some of her scenes were chopped. She approached the unit regarding the same. The unit replied that the length of the film was too long and had no choice to cut short some of her scenes. Couldn’t digest the stumble, Sridevi forayed against producers claiming that all her dates were wasted.

Sridevi, who thought of making a big come back in South Cinema with Puli, is surely disappointed by the producer’s decision.
