The actress who was shot to fame with some popular films down South also shined in a couple of Hindi films. Post her wedding, she chose to stay away from acting and restricted herself to reality shows.

Currently, she is a judge for a big reality dance show on a popular TV channel. The buzz is that she is all set to make her comeback to the acting. If the buzz is believed to be true, she might be seen in a crucial role for the upcoming film starring Kalyan Dhev in the lead role.

Puli Vasu is the director of the film. Rizwan Entertainments is the production house bankrolling the project.

After the walk out of Priyamani, the movie unit has roped in another heroine and completed the film. Surprisingly, the film unit has used her images in the film’s teaser and Priyamani has complained the same to MAA association.

The actress is now demanding for compensation and asked MAA to take necessary actions against the movie team. The actress’ manager Harinath also confirmed the same, and he handed over the complaint to MAA association.

Now for the first time the Forbes India Magazine has decided to cover the top paid actors in Kollywood. In this, Kannada Super Star ‘Kichcha’ Sudeep, Puneeth Rajkumar and actress Priyamani have been the first time entries from Kollywood into Forbes.

It is the first time that Forbes Magazine has included the names of any Kollywood personality. Actors from Tamil and Telugu were listed many times in this magazine, but no Kannada actor is ever listed.

Along with these three, another popular figure Vijaya Prakashala is also listed in this Magazine.

Kollywood getting a place in Forbes is making the Kannada audience feel happy.

South actress Priyamani has been reported of being roped into Upendra’s super hit Kannada film ‘Kalpana’ sequel Kalpana-2.

Priyamani, who is lying low on films past some time, is filled with excitement after this movie was offered.

Kalpana-2 will once again star Kannada Super Star Upendra in the lead role. Kalpana-2 will be a Tamil remake of Kanchana-2. Raghava Lawrence directed Kanchana-2 in Tamil.

Kanchana-2 was later dubbed in Telugu and was released as ‘Ganga.’

The first part that was directed by Anirudh Bolt was released in 2012. This film saw Lakshmi Rai in the female lead.

Kalpana-2 will be directed by Yograj Bhat and is produced by Rajesh. Earlier heroines like Radhika Pandit, Avantika Shetty, were considered for the lead role, but the director and producer finally chose Priyamani.

Getting this offer was lucky and necessary for Priyamni’s career, because in Kalpana-2 the female lead has more crucial role than the first part. The entire plot revolves around the heroine in this film.

Priyamani is hoping that this remake will bring back her lost charm and boost her acting career.

This beauty recently posted a photo of her with a cute small dog. She said in her tweet that puppies are one of her weaknesses.

She, who was staying at a hotel, saw a small puppy in the garbage on the back of the hotel and rushed towards it in her night dress and picked it up from the roadside. Later she clicked a photo along with it and posted in her Twitter account.

Now, the gossip has that Priyamani has accepted to do another item song. This time, it is opposite Stylish Star Allu Arjun. Yes, you heard it right. The makers have recently approached Priyamani to do an item song in Allu Arjun’s next film, to which she gave a green signal, says sources.

Allu Arjun is currently shooting for Boyapati Sreenu’s directorial movie. This movie is named as ‘Sarainodu’ and is being produced by Allu Arvind under Geetha Arts banner. Rakul Preet Singh will play the love interest in this film while Hero Aadi is rumoured of playing the negative role.

Veteran director Sibi Malayil was recently in news when he was ‘banned’ by the Film Exhibitors Federation for some alleged remarks he made against them in an interview with a popular television channel. This was of course the second ban on a director – the first being on B Unnikrishnan – by the FEF in a matter of weeks.

But like Unnikrishnan, the ban seemed to have had no impact on Malayil, in fact one might say it has sprung him in to action as he has announced a new project with actor Jayaram in the lead.

The film maker, who has delivered many classics in the past, has not been very prolific as of late and his last movie Unnam which came out in 2012 was a commercial and critical failure.

Malayil looks to change all that with the new Jayaram starrer. The duo have worked together in memorable hits like Kaliveedu and Summer in Bethlehem in the past, and this one just might recreate the magic..

The script of the movie has been penned by K Gireesh Kumar who wrote yet another Jayaram hit Swapnasanchari. As per the latest reports, the director is busy with the scouting of locations for the flick.

Sources say that Priyamani maybe the heroine in this one though the other cast and crew haven’t been chosen yet.

It will have to be seen how the movie fares commercially – when it does come out that is – given that the Exhibitor’s have banned the director. This means the movie will have very little theatre space available for screening. Will some sort of a truce be made between the two parties?

And where does FEFKA stand in all of this?

Well, all one can say is – as is often with the industry, and especially with Mollywood these days, whatever happens – it’s sure to be cinematic..

Priyamani, who started off humbly in Malayalam in Sathyam opposite Prithviraj, soon turned in to one of the most sensuous and talented actresses in the south, with her choice of roles ranging from the glamorous to the controversial to the unconventional. Who can forget her acclaimed performance in Paruthiveeran, for example?

The actress says she got the chance to play almost all kinds of characters – except villainous ones. Yes, the sexy starlet says it’s her artistic dream to portray a baddie opposite a strong male character. That’s right, so she isn’t talking about the typical ‘bad girl’ in popular cinema or television with conniving mean girl stuff and clichéd backstabbing or emotional catfights; she’s talking about going head to head with the hero like any bad guy worth his salt would!

Priyamani is currently a permanent judge along with Prasanna Master and Neil Bavleja, on the hit reality dance show, D for Dance, which airs on Mazhavil Manorama. She says she decided to turn to television because directors, especially Telugu directors (with the exception of S S Rajamouli), refused to utilise or channel her true potential as an actor.

She, however, does have a few projects lined up in Mollywood, the upcoming one being Painting Life opposite Prithviraj again.
