Even small movies will be released in 300 to 400 theatres in Tollywood. They will be giving an around 700 to 800 theatres for a medium release. For a big film, it will be a minimum of 1000 theatres. The movies of stars like ‘Pawan Kalyan’ and ‘Mahesh Babu’ will be released in more than 1500 theatres. This is not the case in our neighbouring states Kerala and Tamil Nadu. There the big films will be released in 500 to 600 theatres. In Kerala, if a film releases in 300-400 theatres it will be touted as the biggest release.
Last year ‘Sarainodu’s’ Malayalee version ‘Yodhavu’ was released in 80 theatres in Kerala. Kerala people have wondered to see these many theatres for a dubbing film. But the film ‘Baahubali-The Conclusion’ which is going to be released at the end of this month will have a huge release in 300 theatres. It will be four times the release of ‘Bunny’s’ movie for ‘Baahubali’. ‘Baahubali-2’ is releasing on a large scale in Tamil Nadu too. This is going to be released on the same level as of ‘Rajnikanth’s’ ‘Kabali’. ‘Baahubali-2’ is going to be released in approximately 800 theatres. There is no other film releasing in these two states on 28th of this month. They are treating ‘Baahubali’ as their movie as the expectations were huge there.
