Veteran comedic actor turned politician Innocent, who just won the Lok Sabha elections from Chalakkudy for the Left wing, has declared to the world that he supports Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister for various reasons and would support his policies for the betterment of the country.

He strongly feels that Modi would not play the communal card and he also thinks it wise to give the Modi government a year before passing judgment on it. Innocent says he has different stands on various issues from the Left side, and if the party opposes them, he would make them understand his reasons and hope for their support.

The Left is yet to respond to Innocent’s comments.

The actor won the seat in the elections this year in a massive victory over his opponents with a majority of more than 14,000 votes from his constituency. He ran a hard campaign and faced various allegations boldly band calmly before claiming victory.

His opposition had raised questions regarding his ‘undue’ influence over the voters because of his popularity as an actor and now it looks like, we will finally see how much the veteran comedian’s popularity will carry him through the cut throat world of politics.

Well, in any case, it’s not like he is going in unprepared for the responsibilities that would follow, as he has spent many years as the President of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) – a post which gained him much controversy but also deep respect from his peers and colleagues in the film fraternity who supported him in the political campaign.

Yeah. That’s what the industry people have been feeling these days. Tollywood’s Prince Mahesh Babu is also being addressed as a ‘Gujarati’ by the cast and crew of his next film.

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s next flick ‘Aagadu’ is fast nearing completion. The penultimate schedule of the film is currently being shot in Hyderabad.

And now, the entire cast and crew will be heading to Gujarat to shoot for the final schedule of the film.

A major schedule has been planned in Gujarat, where the entire team will shoot for a few weeks.

The highlight of this schedule will be a romantic song that will be shot in Gujarat. The song features Mahesh babu and Tamannaah who will be depicting ultra-romantic emotions in the flick.

Only time will tell if the shooting of the film in Narendra Modi’s bastion brings any accolades to the film.

‘Aagadu’ is directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by 14 Reels Entertainment.

Mahesh Babu and Tamannaah will be essaying the lead characters in the film. Sonu Sood plays a small cameo in the film.

Mahesh Babu’s son Goutham is also rumoured to play a pivotal role in the film.

After making a friendly meeting overtly politicised, there is a new twist to the NarendraModi – Rajini camaraderie. The southern superstar will now organise a special screening for BJP’s star Prime Ministerial candidate in Ahmedabad. While Modi recently met Rajini on a personal level, looks like the star attraction and celeb friendship is going places.

As per the sources, the screening at Ahmedabad will be attended by Soundarya Rajinikanth, the youngest daughter of Thalaivar who also made the film. NaMo was all praise for Rajini when they met at his residence in Chennai for ‘Chai’. Rajini stated that the duo share an old friendship that just got into the limelight because of Modi’s credentials fast rising.

Rajinikanth never confirmed to supporting either Modi or BJP loud enough, but looks like the NaMo fever is actively trending with the celebrities of the country.

There is a massive Bollywood fever gripping this year’s Lok Sabha’s election. Bhagat took to tweeting the picture once again, feeling elated about the fact that someone like Narendra Modi wished him for his birthday. “When the front running PM candidate of the world’s biggest democracy remembers your birthday and posts a selfie, have to say, it feels nice” the author tweeted.

Modi is one of the few tech savvy politicians who actively use the social networking forum to connect with both the masses and the stars. He is also one of the personalities with maximum number of followers in the virtual world!

Have to say, this is an interesting mix of politicians and stars before the results of election 2014. Modi is known to have interacted with stars like Nagarjuna, Rajinikanth and Pawan Kalyan before. Narendra Modi, the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate, has been running a strong campaign, especially in Tamil Nadu where the party doesn’t have a strong base. It was recently that he met with the superstar himself, Rajnikanth at his residence for a non-political meet. The warm and cordial meeting is sure to have helped Modi secure votes form Rajni’s immense fan base.

Now, Modi ji is set to repeat the same by meeting with Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay during his campaign in Coimbatore. Vijay, who is shooting the A R Murgadoss movie Kaththi nearby, is said to be taking time from the shoot to meet Modi today, the 16th.

Vijay’s rather dramatic trysts with the political machine in Tamil Nadu are well known. He had been publicly against the DMK and was in a two year relationship with the AIADMK which went south. Both falling outs cost him in the movie industry, as his movie Kaavalan and Thalaivaa faced problems upon release with Thalaivaa even getting bomb threats in theatres due to its caption – ‘Time to Lead’.

The actor had briefly even announced his own entry in to politics though he pulled out of that later. Whatever the case, his huge popularity cannot be questioned and Modi seems to be making the right call again by meeting with him – on or off stage.

Other stars in the south have also shown their support for Modi including Tollywood’s Pawan Kalyan, Mohan Babu to name a few.

It has to be seen whether BJP’s tactic of reaching the masses in the south by shaking hands with their stars will yield results when election day arrives.

We interviewed some at the venue and this is what they had to say. “We already have so many parties vying to get our votes. Atleast we’ll vote for someone who looks promising enough”,said a young lad.

“Pawan Kalyan is not only an entertainer. He’s a star. And a true crowd-puller. We are going to vote only for Jana Sena in the next elections.”, said Bilal, leader of a local student wing.

Backing Modi, Pawan Kalyan had said that the Gujarat CM was the right man for the job.

Akkineni Nagarjuna was the last Tollywood actor looking to hop on the NaMo bandwagon. The star is also likely to seek a Lok Sabha ticket for his wife Amla. For last few days, political and film circles were abuzz with speculations that the actress-turned-activist is keen to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Vijayawada.

Specualtions are rife that Brahmanandam too is intending to join BJP and use his popularity to fulfill his political ambitions.

Rumour has it that Mohan Babu would be meeting Narendra Modi soon to discuss various political avenues.

With large number of Tollywood personalities chanting the NaMo mantra, it has to be seen how far this fever takes the country ahead!

The Lok Sabha polls are scheduled to be held in April and May and the results are to be announced on May 16.
