Baahubali star Rana Daggubati who was last seen essaying the role of Nara Chandrababu Naidu in NTR biopic is currently busy with a bunch of projects at this moment.

The Daggubati young hero has been in talks for a high budget mythological movie titled as ‘Hiranyakashyapa’ from some time. His father Suresh Babu is currently looking after the pre-production works. Gunasekar is helming this project and the pre-production works are going on from the past two years. Touted to be a bilingual movie, the movie which is being made on a massive budget of 180 crores will get released in Hindi and Telugu languages. The movie is based on the story of demon king Hiranyakashyapa who got killed by Lord Narasimha. The makers have reportedly erected massive sets for this film.

Interestingly 16 to 17 International Studios are currently will work for the VFX works of ‘Hiranyakashyapa’. The regular shoot will go on sets from June this year. Rana will be seen in a bulky look again. The makers are finalizing the cast and crew members of the film.

After the success of Rudhramadevi, the director Gunasekhar has immediately announced a sequel for the movie with the title Prathaparudrudu but the director has kept the work aside to concentrate on another exciting project Hiranyakasipa. Rana Daggubati was approached for the project and he has given his nod for the same. Gunasekhar is very much involved in R & D of the subject and is currently ready with the complete script.

Gunasekhar wanted to produce the film in association with Suresh Productions and another Bollywood production house with high technical standards and a grand scale. Right now, the approximate estimation is that the film will be made on a budget of Rs 200 crores.

The official announcement on the project will be made soon. The makers wanted to begin the film’s shoot in the first half of 2019.

Gunasekhar is very angry! His film Rudhramadevi was treated badly where Nandi awards are concerned. He has written a letter to Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu with his concerns.

The director has asked why his film was snubbed. Earlier when he asked for tax exemption, nothing of that sort happened. But Naidu’s brother in law, Balayya’s film ‘Gauthamiputra Satakarni’ was exempted.

In his earlier letter, the director has questioned the CM’s decision of not granting an exemption to his film. Why was Rudhramadevi not considered for awards in the category of best films are another question that he has raised now? Gunasekhar also said that CBN’s decision gives a feel that we are not living independent India but some autocratic country.

He believes that the movie was snubbed totally because he raised questions about tax exemption in 2015. He sees witch-hunting by Naidu’s government.

Gunasekhar is one among the most talented directors of Telugu cinema. After an impressive career, the director failed to stand stable after which he has been badly impacted. After a huge break, he tested his luck with Rudhramadevi and the movie ended up as a decent film.

Gunasekhar produced the movie on his own and he has been working on his next project from sometime. The ace director has been spotted in Tirumala along with his family and he revealed that he wrapped up the script work of his next film Bhakta Prahlada Charitra. Gunasekhar said that he visited the temple ahead of starting the pre-production work.

The title of the film will be announced soon and will be based on the life story of Bhakta Prahlada. Gunasekhar is busy finalizing the cast, crew of the movie, which will start rolling early next year. His home banner Guna Team Works will bankroll the project.

The magnum opus Baahubali-2 has shown its grandeur, and all the celebrities are heaping praises on the movie. A famous Telugu director has now landed in trouble despite applauding the movie.

The maker Gunasekhar who scored a decent hit with historical drama like Rudramadevi has added into the list of Baahubali admirers. He has written a congratulations note to Keeravani with his own writing. The very next day, he took his Facebook to appreciate the director Rajamouli for his outstanding direction and vision. Guna said that Rajamouli has taken the Telugu cinema to another level and he made a wonder out of a simple story like Baahubali. This has invited an unwanted controversy among the fans of Prabhas, Rajamouli. They ask Guna that how can someone in a place of a director can say Baahubali as a simple story. The fact that he never mentioned the name of Prabhas is adding more fuel to the flame.

Any person in this nation of India has the freedom to express their feelings but they have to check twice whether their comments are controversial or normal.

Noted filmmaker Gunasekhar, who has made the historical biopic of ‘Rudramadevi’ in his previous attempt, has earlier announced that he would direct the story of Rudramadevi’s grandson Prathaparudrudu is his next project. However, Guna seems to have changed his mind now.

Instead of a historical film, he has decided to make a mythological film. The director is reportedly planning to direct a film ‘Hiranyakashipa’, based on the story of Bhakta Prahlada. Interestingly, instead of naming the film after Prahlada, he chose to title the project after Prahlada’s father ‘Hiranyakashipa’.

Reliable sources have divulged that the title was recently registered at Film Chamber on Gunaa Team Works banner. He is currently in talks with a big Tamil star to play the role of Hiranyakashipa. His keenness to rope in a Tamil hero is to make the film saleable in Telugu as well as Tamil states.

The role of Prahlada will be essayed by a child artiste.

It is already a known fact that the grandeur director Gunasekhar planned to carve out a sequel to Rudhramadevi to make it even more interesting. In fact, Gunasekhar made it very clear in the end title card of Rudhramadevi and it gave an idea that Pratapa Rudhrudu is the sequel of Rudramadevi. And the sequel will focus on King Pratap Rudra, the last Kakatiya king who ruled the empire of Kakatiya.

Earlier many star heroes names such as Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun made headlines. But, the makers have not confirmed the lead hero. If the latest reports are to be believed, Gunasekhar is making plans to rope in Young Rebel Star Prabhas to play the titular role in the film.

As Prabhas has huge craze internationally, Gunasekhar is keen to cast Prabhas to cash in his popularity, and it is also learnt that he recently met Krishnam Raju in this regard. If Prabhas accepts to do the role, then the sequel of Rudramadevi would become the talk of the town.

Meanwhile, Prabhas is busy with the second installment of Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 and he will be next seen in Sujith’s romantic entertainer. Well, let us see whether Prabahs will be seen as Prathapa Rudrudu or not.

Top director Gunasekhar has been missing from limelight ever since the release of his high-budget historical 3D film ‘Rudramadevi’.

He did not make any announcement over the collections of the movie or his future projects. After few months of sabbatical, Guna is back with a call for assistants. He called for experienced and apprentice assistant directors for his future films.

There have been rumors that he will make a film on either the story of Prathapa Rudhrudu as shown at the end of ‘Rudramadevi’ film or ‘Gona Ganna Reddy’ who was responsible for the success of his film in the first place.

Considering the result of Rudramadevi, it is uncertain whether he can find producers for his ambitious venture, though.

Tollywood Director Gunasekhar will be awarded the KV Reddy Award 2015 for his contribution towards Telugu Cinema here in Prasad’s Labs on 13th December at 6 PM.

Dasari Narayana Rao, Akkineni Ramesh Prasad, Ashwini Dutt, Manisharma, Paruchuri Brothers and Tanikella Bharani will attend the function as chief guests.

Gunasekhar, who made ‘Rudhramadevi’ possible, directed the film only because of his interest and initiative towards the history. This film was made on a huge budget of 80Cr and was produced by Gunasekhar himself.

After having a successful debut film with ‘Laati’ in 1992, Guna went on to make super hits like Sogasu Chooda Tharama, Bala Ramayanam, Choodalani Vundi, Manoharam, Okkadu and Arjun. Since 2004 to 2015, whatever films did Guna made, were rejected by the Telugu audience.

He, who thought of changing his style of film-making, did the first 3D Stereoscopic Historical Film ‘Rudhramadevi.’ This film was received well all across the south and earned him much fame than any of his previous films gave.

For his immense contribution towards Telugu Cinema, Gunasekhar will receive the 2015 KV Reddy Award along with his family.

Gunashekar, who bagged a decent hit with his latest historical flick ‘Rudhramadevi,’ is now gearing up for his next film. Though what could be his next film is still a question mark to many including him, talk has that Guna might bring the character Gona Ganna Reddy and do a full-length film over this character.

Gona Ganna Reddy’s character was first seen in ‘Rudhramadevi’ portrayed by Allu Arjun. This was the first time picturise that character. Post ‘Rudhramadevi’ release, Gona Ganna Reddy character was received well across the globe for his slang and characterization.

Now, sources say that producer Dil Raju is keen on producing ‘Gona Ganna Reddy’ if Gunashekar completed the script work. On the other hand, Guna is keen upon filming ‘Prathaparudrudu.’ Struck with a dilemma whether to make Prathaparudrudu or Gona Ganna Reddy first Gunashekar has no clarity over these films.

What matter’s here the most is if any of the two films that first get’s picturised, who could be the hero. In the past rumours broke that Jr.NTR could be the hero for Gunashekar’s next. If ‘Prathaparudrudu’ is first, then NTR could likely be the hero in it, if Guna directs Gona Ganna Reddy for his next film, then Allu Arjun might once again do the character.

Director Gunasekhar recently registered a title “Veerabhimanyu” and now the latest buzz is that young tiger Jr NTR is the hero in that movie.

“Rudhramadevi,” that was produced and directed by Gunasekhar turned out to become a super hit after its release. Guna received applause and appreciation all across for his commitment towards the film and enthusiasm for picturing the lost history.

Now, post Rudhramadevi as we all know Gunasekhar announced that he is drawn towards the mythological character Veerabhimanyu and has decided to recreate the character.

For this film, Guna has already started the ground work and will formally launch the post production work. He has also registered the title “Veerabhimanyu.”

What matters the most is, who will portray the character of Veerabhimanyu in this film? The grape wine has that Jr.NTR might be the hero who will carry this character on screen.

Gunashekar is keen on roping in Junior as he is confident that only such a hero can be his Veerabhimanyu. Several considerations were positive towards Allu Arjun, as his character of Gona Ganna Reddy in Rudhramadevi was performed, directed and received well.

Although Allu Arjun was a good choice, Guna chose NTR because for his experience in handling mythological characters. Guna directed NTR in Ramayana. NTR was also seen as young Yama in Yamadonga. In these two films, NTR performed outstandingly which is the reason behind Guna opting for Jr.NTR.

While these are still gossips, but the matter this gossip has become the talk of the town.

Allu Arjun as Gona Ganna Reddy hogged all the limelight in the much awaited historical film ‘Rudhramadevi’. Anushka Shetty, who played the warrior queen Rudramadevi in the film, was too praised for her performance.

Despite Rana Daggubati has essayed the role of Prince Chalukya Veerabhadra, his screen presence was limited to few scenes only. Rana was originally promised big screen presence but after roping in Bunny as Gona Ganna Reddy, much importance was given to that role, and Rana’s role was trimmed down.

As per sources, Rana is miffed with director cum producer Gunasekhar, and he is heard to be exhibiting his disappointment at his closed ones.

Rana Daggubati got the good appreciation for his role in the movie “Baahubali” as Bhallala Deva. In Rudhramadevi, Rana’s role is limited and Allu Arjun got the appreciation.

After so many struggles, Gunasekhar’s epic film ‘Rudramadevi’ starring Anushka, Allu Arjun, Rana in lead role was released on 9th of this month. Barely three days after the release, now the piracy CDs of this film, are already going viral.

Today, Cyberabad police have arrested three persons linking with the piracy mafia. Since huge investment is riding on the film, every penny is important for the makers. However with this kind of piracy mafia, film industry has already lost hundreds of crores and now it seems that Rudramadevi will too lose if the makers don’t take proper actions.

Rudramadevi is running successfully in most of the theaters and it received mixed response from the audience.

“Rudramadevi” Director Gunasekhar shed tears while speaking to media yesterday. The press meet was conducted yesterday evening for thanking Telangana Chief Minister KCR for exempting entertainment tax for “Rudramadevi.”

Speaking to the media, Gunasekhar said,“It was a kind and noble gesture from KCR. Such support is what makes such films.

Chief Minister said to me that ‘You are making a historical film. As the government, we are also responsible for supporting such film. Filmmakers like you and films like such are necessary to our society. Considering this film as a special case Telangana government is exempting “Rudramadevi” from entertainment tax.

We know that KCR has a good knowledge of the history of Telangana. He shared some history that he knew about Kakatiya dynasty with me. I was astonished by his knowledge towards history” said Gunasekhar.

Gunasekhar further added that “KCR garu has promised me that he along with his family will watch ‘Rudramadevi’ on Sunday.”

‘Rudramadevi’ that released today after many postponements, is gaining a mild positive talk.

Gunasekhar’s Historical film ‘Rudramadevi’ has a good to offer. This film is exempted from all tax bearings in Telangana State. Since Rudramadevi was the queen from Warangal and an iconic personality for the state, the government came up with this decision.

‘Rudramadevi’ stars Anushka Shetty, Allu Arjun and Rana Daggubati in the lead roles

Gunasekhar’s 3D Historical Stereoscopic “Rudramadevi” is all set to release tomorrow. This film was made on a huge budget scale of 80 cr and stars Allu Arjun, Daggubati Rana, Krishnam Raju, Prakash and of course Anushka Shetty in the title role.

With this film becoming the talk of the town for its making efforts, the whole team are expecting a positive result out of this one. Let’s read into the experiences of main players of this historic film.

Gunasekhar (Director): With his film releasing tomorrow after a long wait of three years, Gunasekhar is expecting a positive result, in his words ‘normal delivery’.

 

Guansekhar says “I am quite confident about Rudramadevi’s result. Though many have tried to do sezieren, failed to do so. I want a normal delivery.

I had to go through a lot while producing such film. Brought everything I sold everything I had, but I didn’t stop trying to make this film rich and magnificent. I wasn’t satisfied with a small budget to such historic genre, had plans of making it in 3D so as to reach the audience more effectively. During the initial stages, I didn’t get any producers for this film. With having no option, I jumped into the production of my film. The reason behind me producing and spending such money is that I believed in the story, as I believed the story my whole team believed in me which made me do Rudramadevi.

India isn’t a market for 3D, especially ours is a regional market. But Rudrmadevi made me to take such decision. My plan of making this film was in 2004, as the technology wasn’t much supportive at that time, I dropped the attempt. After “Avatar” the technology that I intended was available. Since 2010, I started the script work and finalised it in 2012. I had no choice than Anushka for Rudrmadevi and first approached her with this script. She agreed immediately and laid the first stone for fulfilling my dream.

Not just in the recent times but from past four to five years had many sleepless nights. Studying about the character of Rudramadevi, Gonaganna Reddy, Chalukya Veera Bhadra made me enthusiastic. All these characters have a unique identity during their times. I even lost sleep thinking about the film, characterisation, budget, VFX effects. At last quite happy that I made what I dreamt of.

I have to thank Allu Arjun especially. Rudramadevi made Allu Arjun to do Gonaganna Reddy. It was his call to do this ‘Robin Hood’ kind of character. His addition to the film had boosted my confidence. He didn’t take any remuneration and did this character knowing its value. With his face value, I was able to bring some money from financiers and put it in the film. If I fail with this one, once again I’ll try to make a better film, but won’t stop trying.

Allu Arjun:

Stylish Star Allu Arjun has a unique character called “Gona Ganna Reddy” in this film. The character is rumoured of a Robin Hood kind of character. He says that “Rudramadevi is once in a lifetime opportunity.

Anushka is a normal heroine, but in Rudhramadevi she is the hero. Can’t imagine Rudramadevi without Anushka. It was my honour to work with great technicians like Padma Shri Thota Tharani, Editor and National Award Winner Sreekar Prasad, Musical Maestro Ilayaraja, lyricist Sri Vennla Sita Ram Shastry and Camera Men Ajay Vincent.

The reasons for me doing this film are three 1.)I love Telugu Cinema. I am a fan of my Telugu Cinema. I always appreciate every time Telugu Cinema climbs a step.

2.) I respect Woman: It’s very hard to be a Woman. I did this film knowing that I am not the hero, but a character. I did this film knowing that it is female oriented film and strongly support that.

3.) For my Director Gunashekar: I know what’s Gunashekar is all about. He is a man born only for cinema. I have done a film with, it didn’t work at the box-office, but given a chance I will once again work for him.”

Rana: Daggubati Rana is playing the character of Chalukya Veerabhadra. His experience on Rudramadevi “They are many actors like Krishnam Raju, Allu Arjun and myself, but the hero of Rudhramadevi is Anushka. If anyone asks me who Rama is, my answer would be NTR. Ask me who Alluri Sita Ram Raju is, my answer is Super Star Krishna. And ask me who is Rudramadevi, my answer will be Anushka.

Rudramadevi is the character that can be justified only by her (Anushka). It is a tailor-made character for Anushka.

I know Gunashekar since seven years. He and no one can only make such film. I thank Guna garu for such opportunity. I am fortunate to do this film for which Maestro Ilayaraja has composed music.

Anushka: Anushka Shetty plays the title role of Rudramadevi. In her words “I have to thank Gunashekar for doing Rudramadevi with me. Can’t imagine better film than this with such technicians working for it.

Gunasekhar has worked hard and made this film with blood and bones. This film should be a success at least for his sake. My co-stars Rana and Allu Arjun are close friends in real life, but played something quite opposite in this film.

One mustn’t watch this film only for entertainment purpose. This film has a slot of history that most of us don’t know.
