Ghazi Release Date Confirmed

The much-awaited war drama film, Ghazi, is all set to hit the screens on February 24, 2017. The film unit has completed the shoot long back, but the makers are waiting for the right time to release it in the theaters. The film is made as a trilingual in three languages — Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The makers are planning to release the film in the three languages on the same date. The film stars Rana Daggubati and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles. The film is produced by PVP Cinema and directed by Sankalp Reddy.

Rana Daggubati plays a Navy officer in this film, which is based on true incidents that took place in the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has bagged the Hindi distribution rights. The post production activities are in progress. A lot of graphics work is to be included, and hence the team is working hard on that. Atul Kulkarni and Kay Kay Menon plays key roles in this film.

Karan Johar To Release Rana’s Ghazi

Along with acting in the film Baahubali, Rana Daggubati has simultaneously shot for the trilingual drama Ghazi.

Ghazi is India’s first Navy film which is based on the mysterious happenings that led to the sinking of the Pakistani war submarine during 1971. Prasad Potluri has produced the film under PVP Cinema banner. The film was made on a huge budget. The latest buzz is that the post-production works of the film are nearing completion. There is an update about the Hindi version release.

Going by the buzz, the Hindi version of the film will be released by popular Bollywood producer Karan Johar. Apparently, it was informed that Karan Johar had paid a hefty amount to acquire the Hindi rights of the film. Rana shares a good friendship with Karan, and it resulted in the deal taking place. Ghazi features Tapsee and Satya Dev in crucial roles.

Pakistani Actors in Rana’s ‘Ghazi.’

As per latest reports, few Pakistani actors have been roped in for Tollywood hunk Rana Daggubati‘s upcoming film ‘Ghazi’.

Post the success of ‘Baahubali’, Rana Daggubati has become a nationwide star. Hence, he has been roped in to play the lead in ‘Ghazi’, a film based on the story of submarine PNS Ghazi, which was cleverly submerged by naval officers in sea near Visakhapatnam during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.

PNS Ghazi was a Pakistan’s submarine targeted at Visakhapatnam but Indian naval officers submerged it in a sea. Since the film deals with Pakistan’s submarine, makers have roped in 10 Pakistani theatre actors and brought them to India to act in this movie.

Ghazi is being directed by Sankalp Reddy. Rana is playing a naval officer in the movie starring Taapsee Pannu as the female lead. Owing to the pan India appeal of Taapsee, she has been chosen to play female lead.

Huge budget for Rana’s Ghazi

Handsome and macho hero Rana Daggubati has planned his career with great perfection ever since he debuted with Sekhar Kammula’s Leader. He also made debut in Bollywood with impressive films like Dum Maaro Dum, Baby opposite biggies like Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, etc.

But the real breakthrough came when Rana played the role of Bhallala Deva in Rajamouli’s Baahubali. While Rana is busy with the second installment of Baahubali, he kept doing films like Bangalore Naatkal, etc and he has yet another interesting project in the pipeline titled Ghazi, which is India’s first submarine-based film war film.

As per the latest reports, the film is being made on a whopping 70 Crores budget. Due to underwater sequences and submarine sets, the budget for the film has increased. The makers are leaving no stone untruned to make the film a blockbuster in the history of Indian cinema.

The film is about the Pakistani submarine, PNS Ghazi, which sank off the coast of Vizag while going to the Bay of Bengal. This was during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The shooting of the film will be completed by the end of March and the makers are planning to release the film in May. Hope the hard work of Rana & Team Ghazi pays off.
