Oscar is the prestigious award that is given to the best craftsmen in the film industry. Every year, the event will take place in a grand manner in the presence of the film stars all over the world. Many times in the past, Indian actors also walked on the red carpet at Oscars. Now, the latest buzz is that the Academy sent invitations to some of the Bollywood actors to attend the awards event for the upcoming edition.

Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Deekshith, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Anil Kapoor and others have received the invitations. Some other actors and cinematographers from the other countries also received the invitations. Last year, Academy gave the membership to Amitabh, Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan, Irfan Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Deepika Padukone.

Going more into the details, Bollywood model and actor Kushal Tandon enjoys a huge fan base. Every now and then, the fans try to catch his attention by different activities. Kushal recently came to know about a fan from Saudi Arabia who cut her hand to meet the actor. The actor has finally come to know about this and has showered his anger.

“Many times, fans try to do this to catch our attention but some people go overboard by performing such activities like how this fan has cut her hand. I knew who she is but I did not expect this from her, and I will never tolerate such things. I request everyone not to do the same in the future.” Said the actor.

Legendary actor Shashi Kapoor, who appeared in over 100 feature films, passed away yesterday evening at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital. He was 79. A prolific actor, Kapoor was known for his versatility as an artist as he managed to strike a balance between the arthouse and the more mainstream fare. He was also known for his work in theatre as he helped found the iconic Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai.

Some of the most notable films Kapoor acted in include Deewar, Kabhie Kabhie, Silsila, Shaan, Trishul, Namak Halaal, besides several others. Kapoor collaborated frequently with Amitabh Bachchan.

His nephew, actor Randhir Kapoor, said that Shashi Kapoor, who was wheelchair-bound for years, had been suffering from a kidney ailment and was undergoing dialysis. “Yes, he has passed away. He had kidney problem since several years. He was on dialysis for several years.”

After running into trouble with Central Board of Film Certification, Balaji honcho Ekta Kapoor is planning to turn towards the web, in order to put out more adult content. This comes on the back of Ken Ghosh’s movie XXX, which she was producing, getting into trouble with the CBFC.

A source close to Balaji films said, “After no help from the certification board, Ekta has planned to launch a new web channel to produce adult content. Ekta seems to have cracked the code to putting out good ‘adult’ content using the web. Previously, Ken, who claimed he was trying to level up explicit content in Bollywood was left shocked at the board’s reaction to it.

While, the board had asked the makers to re-edit the film and reapply for certification, there doesn’t seem to be a ray of hope for the movie so far. It’s to be seen if Ekta, taking XXX as the starting point, can capture the web market for adult content as well.

However, with no limitations from Censor board, Ekta decided to show the bold erotic content and this made many heroes falling into personal troubles with their real time life partners.

The Prabhas – Sujith untitled trilingual film is creating a lot of waves for many reasons. This will be the first outing for Prabhas after the globally – acclaimed Baahubali franchise, and everyone is eager to see how Sujith showcases him in this film. UV Creations, the production house behind this project, is going pool an extravagant budget for this filmmaking it one of the costliest films down South.

In terms of its casting, the makers are pulling all stops. Earlier, it was reported that Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukhesh will be seen as an antagonist in this film. Now, it is speculated that popular actor Vivek Oberai has been approached for an important role in the film. It is learnt that the director has met Vivek and narrated the role.

However, it is yet to be known whether Vivek has agreed to come on board for this film or not. As per the updates, makers have roped in yet another Bollywood actor to play the villain role in the film. It looks like the makers prefer to cast Bollywood actors to garner hype in the Northern avenues. Sources say that they are in plans to rope a Bollywood diva as the film’s leading lady. All these speculations are likely to end very soon.

If you take someone new, then you won’t get the budget as the film won’t get proper satellite or music rights, or proper release overseas. If you make a small film, then you can take a chance. The moment I think small, I get worried and scared. I am best when I think large or big”.

The ace filmmaker added, “I need to have the saleable face at the end of the day, as I am a producer and not a studio. When I made ‘Student of the Year’ I took a chance. Fortunately it worked. But it doesn’t work out always.I would request all to launch new faces and then leverage them as I did with Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, and Alia Bhatt as I went on to do several films with them. I think that is what we need to do.”

More than 34 people were killed and hundreds got injured as three blasts rocked the airport and a metro stop in central Brussel. This incident took place merely four months after the brutal Paris attacks. And, people around the globe are in a state of deep shock over these inhuman acts.

The Delhi government has requested the Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgan, Govinda and actress Sunny Leone not to advertise Pan Masala products citing the reason of Oral cancers.

As per the government, even if the pan masala products don’t contain tobacco and nicotine, they contain addictive areca nuts (as addictive as tobacco and alcohol) which cause cancer.The government urged the celebrities not to advertise pan masala products as youth take them as role models and consume those products.

Following the appeal of the Delhi government, Sunny Leone promised not to endorse any product related to pan masala in the future. The government also asked the actors to join the anti-tobacco campaign to bring awareness about the lakhs of deaths due to oral cancer every year.

Mumbai Police have today announced to have reducing or completely withdrawing the security of 40 Bollywood celebs including Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

Police officials claimed it as a routine procedure and added that the step was taken after the latest review that revealed that the celebs don’t need security now. They also pointed out that the move was taken to trim unwanted security cover for celebrities and use the man power for the better purpose.

After the recent assessment, Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan will only get two armed constables for their cover. Only 15 Bollywood celebs will get security including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Mahesh Bhatt, Lata Mangeshkar, Dilip Kumar etc. Security has been completely withdrawn for celebs including Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, Karim Morani etc.
