Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 60th birthday bash was held grandly at Park Hayatt Hotel in Hyderabad, the other day. Most of the bigwigs of Tollywood have attended the event, including Bala Krishna Nandamuri and Power Star PawanKalyan. But superstar Mahesh Babu, Prabhas and Rajamouli were missing.
Reason for Mahesh Babu skipping the event is that the actor is on family vacation in Thailand. He had been busy for 4 months with Srimanthudu shooting, post production, promotional events etc and he could not postpone this trip as he will not get time once he starts shooting of Brahmotsavam.
On the other hand, Prabhas is also on Europe holiday trip along with his friends but he posted on his FB page, “Wishing the undisputed Megastar of Tollywood and undoubtedly one of my favourite actors, Chiranjeevigaru, a very Happy Birthday!!!.”
Coming to Rajamouli, he was the chief guest for convocation of LV Prasad film & TV Academy in Chennai. He attended that event so he could not make it.
Rajamouli’s father and acclaimed script writer Vijayendra Prasad, whose name is ringing in every other news paper and television channel for creating two 500 Crore grosser, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ’Baahubali’ has revealed in a recent interview that Rajamouli has asked him to prepare a realistic script with social message so that he can cast Tamil star hero Ajith and stylish star Allu Arjun in this film.
He also conveyed that discussions were already held with the stars for this project and who could deny an offer from Rajamouli at his point of time when he has just delivered a masterpiece called ‘Baahubali’. Ajith and Allu Arjun can expand their market to Telugu States and Tamil Nadu respectively with his film and Rajanmouli can lay strong foundation for his name in Tamil Nadu.
So, before taking up his dream project ‘Mahabharata’, Rajamouli has three projects in the pipeline: Eega 2, a film with Mahesh Babu and this multi-starrer.
Hope everyone watched the SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali and it is getting good applause from all the corners and also creating new records in the film industry but a Telugu girl blasted on Rajamouli for a scene in the movie.
Annapurna Sunkara, a Telugu NRI who had earlier also created social media storm by posting a video explaining her views on Delhi rape, etc., has struck once again and this time she has targeted Tollywood filmmakers. She seems to be very much disturbed by the way women are getting portrayed in Telugu films.
She started with the romantic track between Prabhas and Tamannaah in Rajamouli’s epic film ‘Baahubali’ and called it very obscene. She also pointed out actors like Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan etc, hitting 60-year old comedians like MS Narayana, Brahmanandam in the name of generating fun, etc. as very immature. She also requested the filmmakers to show some responsibility when dealing with issues like rape, s*x, caste, etc.

Even though she has raised few valid points, she seems to have over analysed the whole thing.
The sensual song “Pachcha bottesina” from ace director Rajamouli’s blockbuster film “Baahubali” has not been only liked by majority of audience but also was criticized by a section of audience for the kind of romantic sequence showcased on screen. A journalist went on to the extent of publishing a story with the title of “The Rape of Avanthika” and criticized Rajamouli for sending wrong message to youth about how they can forcibly make a girl fall in love with them.

Rajamouli has now responded on the issue and said that he does not think of logics while filming a scene but only considers if the audience will enjoy it or not.
Being the director of commercial films, Rajamouli’s thinking is correct as he has to think of major section of audience but not of the minor naysayers.

Implementing a ‘Suspension of Disbelief’ correctly is quite a difficult task. However, for the taskmaster S.S.Rajamouli it doesn’t seem to be difficult. With Bahubali, he achieves it 100%. In the two and half hours of the Bahubali – The Beginning, he marvelously transports you through time and space.
You find yourself amidst spectacular waterfalls, chilling mountains and badass battlefields.

The story of the film (including the second part) was pretty evident and transparent from the trailers. All it matters for the movie of this kind is whether the story has been narrated and demonstrated in captivating manner. Fortunately, this extremely anticipated film does hit the bull’s eye right at the centre.
The story unfolds with Sivagami (Ramya Krishna), a Rajamatha trying to save a baby. The tribals find the baby in a river, adopt and name him as Sivudu (Prabhas) . Destiny introduces him to Avantika (Tamanna) which eventually leads him to connect back to the kingdom he is the successor of. First half is about how destiny makes Sivudu enter the palace. He is surprised that everyone there recognize him and address him as ‘Bahubali’ . The second half goes back 25 years narrating how the saga actually began.
Right from the first frame, there is grandeur in the visuals. Some frames were paintings. The VFX were way ahead of the Indian standards if not international. If we want to talk in terms of numbers, then 80% of the places the graphics were impeccable. And achieving this number is no joke. It needs a tremendous vision, which Rajamouli and his team seems to have in abundance. Their passion got transformed beautifully on the screen. Sabu Cyril’s work is beyond description. The minute details leave you stunned.
The first scene of the film is promising as Ramya Krishna’s screen presence was outstanding. She resembled royalty with a great élan. She disappears after that scene and re-enters in the second half. The body language is simply cracking when she sits on the throne with two infants on her laps. Her role is as powerful (or even a step more) as Neelambari. She was flawless would be an understatement.
Its not a visual wonder, It’s a visual THUNDER.
Prabhas looks inconsistent in terms of looks and sometimes exhausted too. To be honest he was disappointing in bunch of scenes and covered it up well in some vital scenes. The love-track between Sivudu and Avantika was good having a Raghavendra Rao mark style. There is not much footage of Rana, but the movie sets the stage for a probably mind-blowing performance in the second part of Bahubali. However, his introduction scene was something special. Satyaraj also excelled as Kattappa.
Great background score by Keeravani is also an asset to Bahubali bringing out the right elevations and emotions at right time.
The only drawbacks of the film seem to be excess drama in a couple of scenes and a sense of incompleteness the viewer has because the film stops abruptly. Yes, it is known that there is second part (‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’ which will release in 2016) but the much required trigger to watch the second part was lacking.
To describe the experience of watching Bahubali – It’s not a visual wonder. It is a visual THUNDER!

Ace film maker Rajamouli stated that he will no more take heavy projects like “Bahubali” in future. He stated that “Bahubali” will be his last flick in this genre. It is a fact that Rajamouli has a habit of getting refreshed with a family entertainer soon after a heavy blockbuster.
After “Magadheera”, he came up with “Maryada Ramanna”, which turned out to be a refreshing venture for Rajamouli with less effort and it even bagged decent hit. Now, after “Bahubali”, sources are saying that Rajamouli is planning to direct Akhil’s second flick.
The first venture of Akhil will come with Vinayak’s tag and the second venture is stated to be a romantic entertainer under Rajamouli’s direction. Nagarjuna and Rajamouli are stated to be in discussion on this topic. If everything goes well, we can expect Akhil to work in Rajamouli’s direction.
Tamanna Bhatia is a busy bee in Tollywood. She has been signing lot of films in the recent times. Few of them got average talk while majority of the expected blockbusters turned out to be duds at the box office. With this, Tamanna is stated to be under upset stage.
Adding to this, “Bahubali” shooting is in full pace and she needs to be with 100% energy to give the best in this flick. It seems that Rajamouli gave her some break to spend time with her family and friends. There is a buzz in the media that Rajamouli gave this break to Tamanna to make sure that she acts with full energy soon after that span.
Tamanna too decided to use this break strategically. It seems that she is planning to do commercial ads in this break apart from spending time with her family.
Rajamouli’s most prestigious film “Bahubali” is increasing on its budget. As per the details, this flick crossed 150 Crores budget and is now moving towards 200 Crores. With this kind of investment, producers need to search for several ways to get back their invested money.
In Tollywood, it is tough to get 100 Crores at the box office. Hence, the remaining 100 Crores needs to be raised through other film industries. In this aspect, only Bollywood can help Rajamouli and his producers. Bollywood has the capacity to exude 100 Crores easily at the box office.
If Rajamouli plans the promos and the trailers effectively in Bollywood, he may get back those 100 Crores at that box office. But, there is twist in this aspect. Rajamouli will include high quotient sentiment scenes in “Bahubali” which are according to Tollywood’s taste. Bollywood audience are action lovers and they are not much into sentiments. This may shoot back at the film makers during collections time!
Directing a debut flick is an art and V V Vinayak is specialist in that aspect. He came up with few debut ventures for few heroes in Tollywood. In the past, Raghavendra Rao and Dasari Narayana Rao are considered to be the pioneers in launching heroes to Tollywood.
At present, V V Vinayak is coming up with the flick “Alludu Seenu”. This venture is pushing Bellamkonda Sreenivas into the heroes list. Previously, Akkineni Akhil is stated to get debuted through Rajamouli’s flick. But, this legendary present generation director stated that he will direct the second flick but not the debut venture.
In case of taking this kind of risk, Vinayak passed in Tollywood while Rajamouli backed himself from the race. If “Alludu Seenu” achieves grand success in Tollywood, Vinayak will get lots of offers from top level film producers to launch their sons. Rajamouli failed to get that craze while Vinayak succeeded in this attempt.
