The show saw Ranbir stepping out of his comfort zone, going out and selling Vada Pavs to raise the money. Ranbir-Deepika To Romance Again

You heard it! Ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone create magic on screen despite the personal break up. This was evident in Ayan Mukherji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, a film that went on to become a box office hit all thanks to the duo’s impeccably strong chemistry. Both the stars of Bollywood continue to be good friends, proving that a bad breakup need not spoil things for good.

Deepika Ranbir

And now, both Deepika and Ranbir are set to recreate magic in Imtiaz Ali’s next film, Tamasha. The couple seem to have a great work factor with the director, who had cast them in the films Bachna Ae Haseeno and YJHD so far.
Tamasha, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is all about self-discovery. The project will go live in June this year.
Another highlight of the project is that the music will be composed by none other than the Mozart of Madras, A R Rahman. The whole film sounds like a visual and music delight.

Ranbir has recently wrapped shooting for Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet, while Deepika is all set to reprise a magical role opposite Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next project, Ram Leela. Both Ranveer and Deepika are rumoured to be dating in real life while same is being said about Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.
The crowd sure loves the two stars on screen – there is a definitive success element in the pairing of Ranbir – Deepika, which is far less evident with the pairing of Ranveer – Deepika.

Is Ranbir scared of Aamir?

These are the very thoughts that come to minds looking at the recent developments with the release of Bombay Velvet. The movie that was supposed to hit the theatres the same time as Aamir Khan’s PK will now release on November 28th. PK on the other hand, will release as planned on December 19th.

Ranbir-Scared-Aamir

Ranbir, not sounding too obvious made a statement last night at the wrap up party of Bombay Velvet – “I think it is correct release date as we will get more theatres. We don’t want to clash with another film as it affects the business of a film. It is the best film. And we hope the audience will like the film” he said.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film captures the old charm of Bombay and how the city emerged to be one of the biggest metropolises of India.

“Anurag has made this film with lot of hard work and love. It has been a dream of Anurag for nine years. We hope wider audience sees this film as it is an entertaining and engaging film” Ranbir added.

With all due respect to the efforts, the media now wonders if Aamir Khan indeed holds a fear factor in the hearts of other actors. Mr Perfectionist who signs a film a year, Aamir’s presence at the ticket counters unanimously gathers more response than all the other films put together. While PK team has not promoted the movie much, it sure looks like another winner, with a single factor called Aamir agreeing to play the central protagonist.

The picture shows the star wearing a Khakee colour double pleat pants, the fashion of the 50’s with a matching waist coat and an electric blue shirt. There is a spiky hairdo seen, probably trying to imitate the buff look of the old period with effect.

Ranbir-Kapoor-Bombay-Velvet

Ranbir looks all engrossed as he walks in this outfit. The star had been working very hard to play the male protagonist of the movie with an intense characterization.

The film is based on popular historian Gyan Prakash’s book, Mumbai Fables and is a story about an ordinary man who fights against all the odds to become someone big. The movie was widely filmed in Sri Lanka, where Anurag wanted to capture the ‘old Bombay charm’. The crew is just back from the shooting that was just concluded lately.

Bombay Velvet stars Anushka Sharma as Rosie, a Jazz singer and film maker Karan Johar as Parsi media moghul Kaizad Khambatta. Actress of the yesteryears, Raveena Tandon will be seen as a cameo in a special song for the film. The film has already raised the expectations in unusual levels with the audience.

Rishi Kapoor regrets working with Ranbir

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor opened up lately with PTI about his feelings to have worked with wife Neetu Singh and son Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam. The senior actor completely regrets the move and the hasty decision taken by director Abhinav Kashyap, after his personal high with Dabangg.

Rishi-Ranbir-Kapoor

“It was bloody disappointing. Neetu, Ranbir and I are all sorry we did that film. When Abhinav approached us, I thought it would be an entertaining film but it went terribly wrong.

He was over confident, still high on the success of Dabangg. However if he comes up with a better script, maybe I’ll work with him again” said Rishi Kapoor while talking to PTI.

Besharam was a complete disaster, both in terms of content and the box office collections, making the critics and the fans wonder as it why it was even made. To think of that fact that someone like Rishi Kapoor and his whole family agreed to star in it sent in surprises with the analysts who thought it was a dangerous move particularly for Ranbir, who was soaring high with successes like Rockstar, Barfi and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Ranbir Kapoor had previously expressed that he wanted to do a trial run starring along with dad Rishi Kapoor through Besharam – the film was produced under Rishi’s own production banner Picture Shuru co-owned also by Anurag Basu.

Ranbir, who is currently shooting for Bombay Velvet directed by Anurag Kashyap will be seen in a completely different role this time. Anushka Sharma stars along with him for the first time on screen with this movie.

Bhoothnath Returns Review

A conscientious ghost decides to contest elections opposite a criminal candidate and seeks mandate from the gullible public while emphasising on how a worthy candidate shouldn’t be judged by the nature of his existence but by his scruples and merit.

Its main attraction then and now — Amitabh Bachchan reprises his role with humour, wisdom, charisma and a charming approachability. He seems to exclusively radiate around his knee-length co-stars.

In reciprocation, young Parth Bhalerao’s scene-stealing Akhrot matches Big B’s seasoned heft in good measure.

Playing the precocious Dharavi-dwelling kid who begins every sentence with ‘apun’ and empathises with his single working mom’s (Usha Jadhav’s) struggle is known to produce painfully maudlin moments on celluloid but Bhalerao’s judicious energy, instinctive smarts and melting smile steer clear of tired stereotypes.

A fun bond strikes between him and Bhoothnath immediately after the latter returns to earth to wipe out his ‘can’t scare kids’ reputation in Bhoothland, which looks straight out of a European fairy tale on the outside but a typical government headquarters with a couple of witty touches inside –- signboard requesting to maintain ‘dead’ silence.

Superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor have cameos in the film which bring life to it for a while. However, the drab and boring premise seems to be inevitable . So Boredom, thereby, continues post the exit of the superstars.

Bhoothnath Returns is a film which is full of loopholes, yet the brilliant performances by Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani and child artist Parth Bhalerao makes it a watchable film.

Basic idea of Bhoothnath seems to have lost somewhere in the second part. Except for the first 45 minutes, Bhoothnath Returns is a serious film which has a very serious political theme.

While the theme is well-timed, and coincides with the Indian elections, the lack of a tighter edit and logic reduces it to a ghastly mess.

The film challenges the mediocrity in the first half but doesn’t sustain till the end. The movie starts as a fun ride with both Big B and the child actor but after a point becomes preachy lectures on social issues albeit a few rib-tickling and moist-eyed moments.

At 160-minutes of screen time, it stops being a fun, endearing story and turns into a classroom lecture on voting rights.

If Nitesh had blanked out Bhoothnath, and retained his baritone voice instead, at least for majority of the movie, it would’ve been more effective.

So, what could have been a good movie, turned into something hugely disappointing!

When Asst Director proposed to Ranbir Kapoor!

Ranbir kapoor is never short of fan following. The Bollywood hunk who is now the current super star with youngsters is used to girls randomly proposing him every now and then. The same happened on the sets of Bhootnath Returns when Ranbir was on there to shoot for a cameo role. The actor got a shock of his life as the Assistant Director of the movie, Armine Jabalpurwala directly expressed her love for him.

asst-director-ranbir

The AD did so when she uttered “Ranbir I Love to Action”. Ranbir replied saying, “I Love you too” as he always does with millions of his fans. Later it was found out that Armine, who adored the actor, was challenged by her crew members to confess her love for him.

Talking about the same, Ranbir Kapoor expressed his amazement – “It always feels great to hear ‘I Love You’ from extremely pretty girls. And it was a bit of a surprise and it felt really nice and I think it encouraged me to do a shot better. That’s always encouraging” he said, when he found out that it was just a bet.

Interestingly, Big B teased the young AD when he heard about the prank – “You never smile in front of me when I call you’” he snapped, making Armine gush and the rest of the crew laugh. He went on and said that she never ever said “I love you Amitabh Bachchan”. When Armine coyly replied that she was just about to, Big B sent another snapper in her direction; “Ab time nikal gaya Madam’

Looks like the entire unit of Bhoothnath Returns had a blast while filming. The movie is set to hit the theatres on April 11th worldwide.
