Popular politician and Rajnikanth’s friend Shanmugan was honored with a doctorate and Rajnikanth attended the event as a chief guest. Speaking at the event, Rajini said, “I know Shanmugan from 1980. He is handsome. There is always a glow on his face. The best part about him is his hairstyle. If he had told me some tips about hair, I would have taken great care about the same.” said Rajnikanth.

Latha took the money for the making of the film Kochadaiyaan that is directed by Rajnikanth’s daughter. The film has Deepika Padukone in the female lead. The movie has become a big flop at the box office.

Karikaalan aka Kaala (Rajinikanth) is a son of Dharavi’s leader Veeraiah who got killed himself for the betterment of the people of Dharavi. Kaala too follow his father’s footsteps and he too becomes the king of Dharavi. People in Dharavi obey his rules and follow him blindly. Kaala takes final call about the happenings of Dharavi and this irks the politicians and builders who try to evacuate Dharavi slums and build lavish apartments and villas and also small homes for Dharavi people. They try their level best to get hold of Dharavi and to get upper hand over Kaala. How Kaala serve the interests of people and save Dharavi from the selfish politicians who are trying to cash the boom around Dharavi?

Superstar Rajinikanth as Karikaalan aka Kaala has done fantastic work as an actor. He is as usually best in his style and body language and has given vera level goosebumps to his audience. Nana Patekar is terrific in his role as a selfish politician who wants to cash and grow on people and their sufferings. He has given his best for the role. Huma Qureshi is good as Zareena, the love of Kaala in his younger days. Eswari Rao as Swarna, wife of Kaala is superb. She has got best opportunity and shines in the role. Samuthirakani as friend of Kaala is nice. Sampath as Hari Dadha’s man is fine. Pankaj Tripathi, Anjali Patil and some other Hindi actors shine in their limited roles. All other actors has given performance according to their roles.

Story of Kaala is simple and has a theme about slums of India. Screenplay is well written with mass elements to satisfy hardcore fans and audience alike. Dialogues just seemed like translation of the original which are funny sometimes.

Kaala is a battle between the oppressed sections of people in slums and politicians aka oppressors who take the people of granted. In this movie, writer and director Pa. Ranjith has taken Dharavi as an example and run the story in his way including Rajini style of mass elements. Pa Ranjith seems to have known the mistake he has done with Kabali and the result is Kaala which has blockbuster content packaged into it. The actors he had chosen for the roles has done fantastic work. There is a scene in the second half of the movie which plays a mirror role to reflect the ideology or theme of Kaala, character and the movie. When oppressors resort to the damage of self respect of people, people resort to revolts and movements to get their rights heard and their existence noticed. On the whole, Kaala is a blockbuster from the brand Rajini.

Rajinikanth and director PA Ranjith teamed up for the second time for Kaala. The film directed PA Ranjith and produced by actor Dhanush. Santosh Narayan scored music.
Rajnikanth has never looked so good on screen with his stylised look and presentation, Patori body language, and dialogue delivery. Pa. Ranjith has been able to get the right balance in a tightrope walk between Rajni’s larger-than-life image and the changing taste of today’s mass multiplex audience without losing his famous touch. In short, Pa. Ranjith has given us a more peppy and upmarket Rajni that is sure to work with today’s youth audience.
There is only one hero here, as in all Rajnikanth films- Rajni himself. Such is the overpowering screen presence of his cinematic charisma in every frame of the film. The film works big time as Pa. Ranjith has made the film on a grand scale, in a riot of colours, with superbly choreographed action scenes. All this comes with top-of-the line techno-finesse, perhaps the best ever in Tamil cinema.

Overall !! Sure to fetch an earth-shattering opening, the film will create a pandemonium at the box-office, cementing the status of Rajnikanth as the darling of the masses and making the distributors laugh all the way to the bank. It has Blockbuster written all over it!

Super Star Rajinikanth enjoys a worldwide craze. The actor is always first in creating a buzz for his movies at the box office. Every film of his does great at the box office and the pre-release biz just set new records. The latest movie Kaala also created a new record even before the release now.
Kaala Pre Release Business
The inside buzz is that the pre-release business of the film is Rs 230 crore rupees. The makers sold the film for 70 crores in Tamil, 33 crore rupees in both the Telugu states. The film is sold for ten crores in Kerala and 7 crores in the rest of India. The overseas rights of the movie were sold for 45 crores and the whole theatrical rights came around 155crores. The broadcasting rights were sold at 70 crores and the music rights were sold at 5 crores. If the film does well in Karnataka, the film will bring in 20 crore rupees.
Finally, it is going to be a big relief for the producers of Kaala as the Karnataka High Court gave the verdict in favor of the producers regarding the release of the film. The high court ordered the government to provide the protection to the theatres where the movie is releasing. The court on Tuesday has given the order that the state government has to provide adequate police protection to theatres for the smooth screening of the film across the state.

The court asked the producers to furnish details of exhibitors and instructed the state government to ensure no inconvenience is caused during the release of the movie. The court said that the exhibitors cannot be forced to screen the film but if they are willing to screen the film, the government will provide the security.
