Tamil Nadu government has appointed a special officer from the government to look after the activities of Tamil Film Producers Council. This move has been opposed by the producers’ council president Vishal. As the council faced allegations of corruption and other aspects, the government took this decision and appointed N Shekar as a special member.
Vishal now filed a petition in Chennai High Court that the tenure of the current working council is finished and they are going sit for a meeting to discuss the further course of action including the elections. Vishal opposed the government’s move and called it an illegal attempt.
Vishal also appealed that the government should reverse its action and let TFPC an independent body. The high court judge accepted the petition for hearings and it will take place on Tuesday.
