Bollywood stars Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Nana Patekar and Om Puri have been roped in to lend voice to the Hindi dubbing version of Disney’s upcoming American live-action feature film ‘The Jungle Book’.

Priyanka Chopra will voice Kaa – the python, Irrfan Khan will lend his voice for the bear Baloo, actress Shefali Shah will voice for Raksha – the wolf, Om Puri will lend voice for Bagheera – the Black Panther and Nana Patekar will lend voice for Shere Khan.

The English version features the voices of Hollywood stalwarts such as Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken.

The Jungle Book was directed by Iron Man director Jon Favreau and the film will release in India on 8th April.

Prakash Jha has turned out into a director whose films have become synonyms of pretense and nothing more. Jai Gangajal is no different. Jai Gangajal is a sequel to Gangajal which brought him maximum fame. This time he has picked up Priyanka Chopra as the main lead probably thinking that the film can possible become a great illustration of empowering women. Unfortunately, it is not.

The story of Jai Gangajal is set in a village which is the land of lawlessness. It is run by the merciless and helped by corrupt ones. Priyanka Chopra plays Abha Mathur who fights against the local MLA in the film. The movie looks so much like modified version of Gangajal where Ajay Devgan ‘s place is given to Priyanka Chopra keeping the order of events is same.

The movie shows a bunch of merciless acts to show the ruthlessness of the rulers so that the viewer is petrified. However, there was nothing new and it has been seen since decades together. Mr. Jha tries to manipulate the audience several times with an artificial drama. For example, he expects us to cheer when a boy hits a man and succeeds. Such scenes and concepts were done and dusted before.

Priyanka Chopra, on the other side looks comfortable in the dress but not in the role. She was very ordinary with hardly anything to talk about. She tries too hard to be that gutsy cop, but hardly effective. However, surprisingly it’s Prakash Jha himself who appears in a negative role who makes the maximum impact in the film. He was exceptional. One sincere advice to him would be to stop making films like these and start acting.

Apart from Jha, no other actor has made any significant impact in the film. Not just the script but the music also tries to be desperate. Clearly you can feel that the sound is trying to elevate a feeling which was not even there at the first place.

The only good part of the film is that it shows some real problems that farmers and the underprivileged face in the villages because of the power held in the local rulers. These could have been shown in a different way than just creating a plastic drama out of the scenes. Some dialogues are good while most of them desperately try to lack a punch in it but fail miserably. The lectures are unending and we can predict most of them. Lines which are like ‘Cops have become prostitutes’ are so many.

Apart from too many number of clichés the movie is lengthy. It is dragged to the core. Running up to almost 160 minutes, this movie is a burden in all aspects – time and mind.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who has been selected as one of the presenters at the 2016 Oscars ceremony, has walked the Oscars red carpet this morning in sexy Zuhair Murad white color couture dress.

Directed by Indian-origin filmmaker Adi Shankar, the drama series will feature many noted Hollywood stars and also mark the debut of Preeti in Hollywood.

Prakash Jha, who is presently busy with the city promotions of his next Jai Gangaajal, was recently in Chandigarh to promote his Priyanka Chopra starrer and the filmmaker met over 150 female cops in the union territory.

During his interaction with the female police officers, Jha revealed, “Jai Gangaajal is a story drawn from the experiences of several police officers that I have met. I visited 52 police stations located in the interiors of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh before I started work on this film. I know how difficult it is for our female police officers to work in those trying conditions. Most police stations don’t even have proper toilet facilities.”

The ace filmmaker stated that he made the film on society-police relationship as the subject is very close to his heart. In fact, he roped in Neeraj Kumar, former Commissioner of Police, Delhi, as a consultant as he didn’t want to cite any incorrect laws and rules in the film.

The trailer of the movie was screened for Chandigarh’s fearless female cops and it received an overwhelming response from them, much to the filmmaker’s delight. Vega Tamotia and Rahul Bhatt, who are playing key roles in the film, were also present at the do. The female police officers even posed for selfies with the film’s team, post the event.

While promoting the film in Ranchi, Prakash Jha got an opportunity to meet a real life Abha Mathur – CID IG Sampat Meena and when she saw the film’s trailer, along with several other female cops, she was not only impressed with its relevant content but also with its hard-hitting dialogues.

She especially liked the dialogue ‘Jab khaki ka rang sahi ho na toh chahe usse mard pehne ya aurat, tum jaise namardon ko chutki mein uski aukaat dikha deti hai’. Emphasizing on the same, she said, “A leader doesn’t have any gender, a leader is a leader and this is what we teach our officers. So I’m very impressed with this dialogue as I personally believe that when you wear a uniform, you shouldn’t think about what gender category you fall into.”

Now the latest news is that Sanjay is also planning to release the movie in Telugu and Tamil languages. Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra played the main lead roles in the movie.
