Superstar Rajinikanth’s previous release Kabali movie has bagged mixed response. One of the distributors has revealed the actual performance of this flick.

After the hype created by the flick’s teaser, the expectations were gone to sky high. This has made the makers to sell their movie to high prices for distribution. Unfortunately, the movie opened with mixed responses from the critics. The movie was officially declared average but the producer Kalaipu S Thanu has claimed that the movie has grossed more than 300 crores. Within one month of the movie’s release, the distributors went to Thanu to cover their losses. Interestingly Madurai distributor leaked an audio clip of distributors talking on WhatsApp. It states that the movie Kabali has been successfully running on 214th day with 40+ tickets. This clip is evident that the movie has become hit.

Several reports in south media are spread claiming superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film ‘Kabali’ has collected Rs 600 Cr worldwide. However, Bollywood media is skeptical about this and is scrutinizing with the help of reliable sources.

‘Kabali’ had its worldwide release on July 22 amidst sky high expectations. As expected, the film has created unbeatable records with premiers and opening day collections. But, the mixed reviews dented the pace and kept the film minting money at snail pace. All of a sudden, few media houses and fans are now claiming that Kabali has minted 600 cr worldwide.

Film’s producer Kalaipuli S Thanu has made no official statement regarding film’s 600 cr business. Hence, the mystery of whether the collections are genuine or not continue. Meanwhile, Kabali still is playing in considerable number of screens across the world.

Despite the mixed talk, Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest release ‘Kabali’ broke all the existing box office records by collecting a mammoth Rs 326 Cr worldwide gross in its first week.

Film’s producer Kalaipuli Thanu has made this official announcement during the success meet of ‘Kabali’ organized in Chennai. All the unit members took part in the success meet and shared their working experience with Rajini. Thanu added that the record collections were possible only due to the charisma of Rajinikanth, who is undeniably the biggest star of this country.

Kabali not only topped the records of Baahubali, but all the Bollywood biggies of Khans to become the top grosser in its first week. The film, however, has to go a long way to achieve breakeven status. Film’s director Pa Ranjith said that he was extremely satisfied with the way the film was received.

However, the film’s producer S Thanu left everyone shocked when he claimed Kabali has earned Rs 250 crore on Friday itself. A statement said the movie has earned Rs 100 crore from theaters in Tamil Nadu itself. “In India, the film has earned Rs 250 crore, which includes Rs 100 crore from Tamil Nadu and Rs 150 crore from places outside the state in India.”.

In the US, where the film released on 400 screens, it has become Rajinikanth’s highest grosser ever.
