Lawrence himself will direct the film. Kiara Advani will be seen as the female lead opposite Akshay in this horror comedy. We know that actor Sharath Kumar played the role of the transgender in the film, which is a key character in the story. Now, doubts are arising on who would do it in Hindi.

According to the buzz, legendary Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in that role. Amitabh, who likes to experiment with his characters, seems to be showing interest in this role as well. The film has been titled as Lakshmi Bomb and it will go on floors very soon.

Following “Dhoom” was “Dhoom 2,” which started Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai as the male and female lead. The interesting part of the series is that the negative role of the film has more importance than any other. Hence, heroes opt for such negative character in this series.

It is been eleven years since the first part came. In the first part, it was John Abraham who was the negative lead. Starting from this two more films followed in series.

In the 3rd part, i.e., “Dhoom 3,” it was Aamir Khan who stole the show. The film is taken to another level by Aamir’s performance. Additional to this was Katrina’s glamour. Though the film couldn’t do well from critic’s point of view, collections were huge for this film. It grossed around 500+cr worldwide and stood as one of the highest collectors in Indian Cinema.

With earning such name and fame the producer’s of Dhoom- Yash Raj Films are planning another part of these thriller series. “Dhoom 4” has begun its pre-production work and will go on to the sets from next year.

Hrithik Roshan, who played the lead in “Dhoom 2,” will once again appear in the negative character for “Dhoom 4.” Interestingly rumours also have that “Big B” Amitabh Bachchan is also doing a role in this film. His role is whether a positive one or a negative one is yet to be confirmed.

Amitabh’s next movie titled, ‘Shamitabh’

R Balki recently registered a film title that rides on its lead cast, Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush. Well, quite literally!
Amitabh-New-Movie-Title-Shamitabh

Buzz is, the title ‘Shamitabh’, combines the last two alphabets from Dhanush’s name with Amitabh Bachchan Sr’s widely recognised first name.

But why the weird title? In the film, Dhanush plays a deaf and mute junior artiste while Amitabh plays the man who finally gives him his voice.

When a prominent media house contacted Balki, he explained the choice of title, saying, “Yes, we’ve finally titled the film ‘Shamitabh’, as in ‘Sh’ before Amitabh. It is the name of a character in the film. We’re half way through our shoot and we’ve enjoyed every bit of our journey so far.”

The film which will mark the debut of Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter, Akshara, has been in production since February and has been shot in Mumbai, Goa and Ooty.

If rumours were anything to go by, the movie was also going to have Shah Rukh Khan as a part of the cast. However, those rumours were eventually quashed when Balki confirmed that Dhanush would be playing the part in the film. This is perhaps R. Balki’s most ambitious venture till date.

Well, only time will tell if the freaky title and a stellar star cast can entertain the audiences or no!

High Court to hear writer’s plea against Bhoothnath Returns

Looks like Amitabh playing the friendly spirit had cast some evil repercussions on the film; first it was the social activist from Mumbai who filed a case against the ad commercial showing Big B as Bhoothnath, and now, it is the writer Sushant Supriya, who claims that the entire idea behind the film has been lifted from his works.

High-Court-Bhoothnath-Returns

The Delhi High Court agreed to hear the plea of this Hindi writer tomorrow in lieu of the allegations that Bhoothnath Returns is closely based on the writer’s literary works.

A special bench comprising acting Chief Justice B D Ahmed and Justice Siddharth Mridul have ordered the listing for tomorrow after the counsel for the writer Sushant Supriya. The film is planned to be released worldwide on April 11 th.

The writer, who came to know about the copyright infringement seeing the trailer, immediately filed for a plea. Another plea from the social activist is also to see a hearing, bearing accusations that Amitabh had directly propagated and supported the existence of ghosts and spirits, not to forget the existence of black magic, in the commercial that was made for children.

The first part, Bhoothnath, managed to fetch some endearing response from children. Amitabh playing that role of a friendly ghost is planted deeply into the mind-sets of children who now await the sequel. However, going by the series of incidents that are happening in connection to the film, a lot of damage control looks pending from the film makers’ end.

Social activist files complaint against Amitabh Bachchan

Pune based social activist, Hemant Patil has accused megastar Amitabh Bachchan, saying that the star is promoting superstitious beliefs about ghosts and the spirits by portraying the role of a Bhoothnath in a TV commercial for children. The activist further applied for a police complaint against Big B, with violations according to the existing laws, Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifices, 2014 and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013.

Amitabh Bachchan recently endorsed a Children’s health drink commercial, where he reprised his screen role of Bhoothnath as in his film, where he played the friendly ghost. The sequel of the original film, Bhoothnath Returns, is to hit the screens soon and the commercial serves as one of the tools promotion for the film.

Talking about his angst, activist Hemanth shared his concerns – “The advertisement promotes belief in the existence of ghosts and spirits and consequently the need for magic to ward them off. This is promoting false beliefs and promoting superstitions” he stated.

The activist also pointed out that the commercial in question did not comply with adding appropriate disclaimer before or after the broadcast, making it a confirmed violation of the above laws. Some parts of cultures in the country are still known to practice such rituals and the laws have been strictly regulated and enforced to avoid any sort of practice, provocation or even the slightest promotion.

Meanwhile, the star is yet to comment or tweet about this accusation hurled directly at him. The commercial house, campaiging the Bhoothnath in the advertisement is also yet to make a statement to this effect.
