Mass Maha Raja Ravi Teja is currently busy shooting for a new film in the direction of Santosh Srinivas. The film is the official remake of Theri but the makers have changed the entire second half to suit the nativity of Telugu audience.

Ravi Teja will be seen as a police officer in the film and he is doing this after a long time. In the past, Ravi Teja impressed every one of us as a cop in the movies like Vikramarkudu and Mirapakay. Mythri Movie Makers is the production house that is bankrolling the project and Sruthi Hassan is the heroine.

The regular shoot of the film is currently progressing in Hyderabad and the makers are canning the film at a jet speed as Ravi Teja has to move onto his other project Amar Akbar Antony which will be going on in the USA. The majority of the film’s portion is planned in the USA and Ravi Teja is planning to juggle between India and USA for the film’s shoot.

This cute girl has debuted into movies with Ilayathalapathi’s Theri movie. Nainika has impressed all with her cute acting skills sharing screen space with superstar Vijay. For her performance, she has won the best debut child actress for the movie Theri in the SIIMA awards. She went to take the award along with her mother Meena. After taking the award, the organizers asked her to sing a song. Nainika shocked all by singing her mother’s superhit song Thilana Thilana on the stage. The attended celebrities fell flat with her cute singing.

Movie lovers say that Nainika is talented like her mother. They hint a great future as a lead actress for Nainika replacing her mother’s place in the movie field.

With just few hours to go for the release of the film Theri, there is a dilemma for the fans in some areas whether the film releases or not.

This is because of the disputes between the exhibitors and distributors. The exhibitors of Chennai, Chengalpattu along with the single and double theatres managements are stepping back denying the screening of the film. The High Court of Madras recently gave a strong decision on hike of ticket prices and this made exhibitors angry. As a result, they are now showing no interest in exhibiting the film. They wanted the issue to be solved and are expecting the discussions with distributors regarding the already made agreement about the ticket prices.

This is not the first time that Vijay is facing problems before release. In the past, he encountered the same for the films like Thalaiva and Puli. Meanwhile, some of the exhibitors kept a vigilance on theatres who are going over board by selling the tickets for hiked prices. The government also set a telephone line for receiving the complaints from common men on the same. The only fear for exhibitors is that they may fell into losses if they sell tickets without hikes.

On the other side, the multiplexes have started advance bookings but the issues is with single screen theatres alone. Already producers are looking into this aspect and let us hope that the problem gets resolved soon.

Tamil star hero Vijay committed a grave mistake during the audio launch of his new film Theri by referring to Chinese greatest Communist leader Mao Zedong as a former Russian president.

His statement didn’t go down well with the audience who could only look with the grimace from their seats. Vijay could have averted this huge mistake if he was a little knowledgeable. His referral to Mao came when he narrated a short story to audiences by which he wanted to give a message to all his fans to remain calm and composed.

Even though Vijay’s intention was good, his grave blunder became the highlight. Although Vijay has later issued a public apology, netizens are trolling him on social media. Some are comparing him with Rahul Gandhi while many are advising him to get some knowledge as he is a role model for youth.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay announced that he is not supporting any party in Tamil Nadu elections. Recently, he asked the fans not to participate in elections and also advised them not to support any political campaign.

It is already a known fact that Vijay has forayed into politics in 2009 and established a party named Makkal Iyakkam. The party consists of 13 lakh Vijay fans and also consists of 51,600 fan groups.

Gorgeous actress Samantha, who has many flicks in her kitty, is one of the few actresses who have been paired opposite top heroes from Kollywood and Tollywood in more than one film. The action thriller Theri has wrapped the shooting some time ago, and is currently in post-production stage.The film is slated to be a cop story, and this is being helmed by Atlee of Raja Rani fame.

Samantha, who had finished shooting for the film, has now completed her dubbing too. All these days, singer Chinmayi used to dub for Samantha for all her Telugu films; however, for the first time in her career, Samantha dubbed on her own​.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s little daughter Divya Saasha is all set to make her acting debut with her father’s upcoming film “Theri”.

Reliable sources revealed that Divya will be seen as Vijay’s daughter in the flick while yesteryear actress Meena’s daughter Nainika will be seen essaying the role of grown up version of Divya. The unit has recently wrapped up the shooting in Ladakh in which Divya took part to shoot her scenes.

Amy Jackson will be playing the role of Divya’s teacher in “Theri”. Samantha is playing a doctor and Ilayathalapathy’s wife. ‘Theri’ was originally planned to be released in April but is likely to be advanced owing to the upcoming general assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. The film is directed by Atlee of “Raja Rani” fame.

It may be recalled that Vijay’s son Sanjay had already made his silver screen debut in his earlier film “Vettaikaran”.

After working with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in “Jilla”, Tamil star hero Ilayathalapathy Vijay is reportedly getting ready to work with another Malayalam superstar Mammootty in his next film.

The Malayalam superstar will have an important role in Ilayathalapathy’s film just like Mohanlal’s character in “Jilla”. The movie will be directed by Mohan Raja, who is basking in the glory of blockbuster hit “Thani Oruvan” starring his brother Jayam Ravi, Nayanatara and Arvind Swamy.

It may be noted that Mohan Raja had earlier directed Vijay in “Velayudham” starring Hansika Motwani and Genelia in the female lead roles. He is currently working on the story, and the film will go on floors after Vijay finishes “Theri” under the direction of Atlee of “Raja Rani” fame and another film to be directed by Bharathan.

Two superstars of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Vijay came forward to offer shelter for the victims of Tamil Nadu floods. Since many people have lost homes due to rains, Rajini and Vijay offered their respective Kalyana Mandapams as a temporary stay.

Rajinikanth’s Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Kodambakkam and Shoba Kalyana Mandapam in Saligramam of Vijay, have been offered by the two superstars for people. Rajnikanth has already donated Rs 10 Lakh for the relief of the victims.

Now Vijay is eyeing for Ram Charan’s another movie title “Merupu”, which has been halted for unknown reasons.

The first look and title of Tamil actor Vijay’s upcoming film in the direction of Atlee were revealed recently. With ‘Theri’ as Tamil title, the film will have Vijay playing a police officer.

As per reports, makers of the film are considering ‘Merupu’ as the title for the Telugu version of the stylish action entertainer.

It is well known that Ram Charan had few years back started a film with ‘Merupu’ as the title. Although the project was scrapped for an indefinite period, makers continue to claim now and then that the flick will be back on track.

If so, then Charan will have to search for another title as Vijay will be hijacking it. Samantha and Amy Jackson are playing leading ladies of ‘Theri’.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s 59th movie titled as “Theri” and the first look posters are out now. Samantha and Amy Jackson are the heroines opposite Vijay in the film. There were reportedly many titles that were under consideration, including Theri, Vetri and Thuppakki 2. Finally the movie makers have gone for There and revealed the first look. Vijay looks stylish and after seeing the posters the film is said to be an action drama like his Thuppakki.

The film is being directed by Atlee and GV Prakash Kumar scored the music. Kalaipuli S Thanu is presenting it.
