Heroine Taapsee Pannu has been noted for her trembling performance and it has been reverberating for the past couple of years. With ‘Pink’, she not only got her break but also gained a lot of applause and offers in Bollywood. Her performance in ‘Naam Shabana’, ‘Manmarziya’, ‘Badla’ has proved her skills once again.

She joined the shoot of ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, a couple of months ago and she shocked everyone with her transformation, featured in the first look of the film. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film is based on the true story of two old women in their 60s, who end up winning top honours in shooting and train young girls in the same craft. Apart from Taapsee, the film also has Bhumi Pednekar in a lead role. The team has been shooting extensively in rural parts of Uttar Pradesh. The film is slated for release on the occasion of Diwali, later this year.

We all know that Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan and beautiful Taapsee Pannu teamed up for Pink and impressed the audience with their breakthrough performances. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the courtroom scenes are the major highlight in that film. Now, as per the latest updates, the duo are going to reunite again for an interesting film which is a Sujoy Ghosh’s directorial. It is reportedly titled as Badla. Touted to be a crime-thriller, the film likely to hit the floors from June.

Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh is a renowned filmmaker who has previously directed films like Kahaani, Jhankaar Beats, Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh, and has also directed critically acclaimed short films like Ahalya and Anukul. The makers are going to film some important sequences in Scotland and London. Well, let’s see how this film will impress the audience.

This is the first time Taapsee and Amitabh Bachchan will be working together for a film. Pink is directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by Shoojit Sircar.

Bubbly girl Taapsee is going to romance with Rana Daggubati in his forthcoming war drama movie Ghazi.

Tollywood hunk Rana Daggubati has recently signed an interesting film, a war drama about the mysterious sinking of ‘PNS Ghazi’ submarine during the India-Pakistan war in 1971.

Rana will be seen as a Navy officer on the submarine in this first Indian submarine film to be directed by debutante Sankalp Reddy. The film will simultaneously be made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.

After considering several actresses, makers opted for Taapsee as the leading lady. Although Samantha was considered first since she is not familiar in Bollywood, makers opted for Taapsee. Taapsee and Rana were earlier seen in Akshay Kumar’s ‘Baby’ however they didn’t have any scenes together.

And projects there were many. The Aadukalam girl is waltzing through them like the star she is – Muni 3, Ganga, Vai Raja Vai…

So it came as a not so shocking development that she might be up for the female lead in another Hindi movie titled Hamara Bajaj, to be produced by none other than the actor/producer heartthrob John Abraham in association with Shoojit Sarcar.

The film will star Vj turned actor Ayushmann Khurrana in the male lead. No other details have been revealed about the movie yet.

Tapasee is currently taking a much needed break from the cine world with a vacation abroad in Athens, Greece. When reached for a comment, the bubbly diva replied that she would be all too thrilled to take on the project if they offered it to her.

Unfortunately, as of now, nothing has been put in print or signed, though the odds do seem to favour the actress.

Golden days for Tapasee indeed. It was also reported recently that she might be playing a role in the Nayantara – Simbu starrer Idhu Namma Aalu. However, nothing was confirmed in this regard and it was speculated if the Tapasee would even consider playing a supporting character now that she is in great demand as a female lead in major projects.

Now wait a minute folks, before you roll your eyes – this is pretty rare in tinsel town, by any standards. Taapsee Pannu apparently refused to accept a paycheque of any kind for her guest appearance in the movie Kathai Thirikkaathai Vasanam Iyakkam.

The movie, which is being directed by actor/director Parthiepan, features her as a guitar instructor. Now, what makes this even more interesting is that this was not just your run of the mill cameo where you show up for a shot or two and then be on your merry way, no.

Tapsee actually had to learn to get the feel of the instrument, body language and other rudimentary guitar skills from an ace instructor to perfect her part, which she did, reportedly.

Then why would she refuse payment for her work, especially after going that extra mile? We don’t know but the respect for director Parthiepan might have something to do with it.

The flick itself is a unique project, in which the lead roles are being done by new comers or yet unknown actors while established stars make guest appearances … and there are a lot of such appearances.

Some of the big names doing cameos in the film are Taapsee of course, Amala Paul, Iniya, Arya , Lawrence, Srikanth, Bharath, Vishal, Cheran, Prakash Raj and the list goes on.

The movie has a tagline which reads ‘the movie without a story’. Whatever it is that has got Pathiepan working so hard and inspiring other stars to devote their time, some of them free of cost, must be something worthy indeed.

Yes, it seems the makers of the Simbu – Nayantara starrer are trying to rope in the actress for a playing a second female lead in the movie. But it remains unclear whether Taapsee will give her okay for this project.

Apparently, director Pandiraj and producer T Rajendar decided on Taapsee after going through a lengthy list of names to play the role. They reportedly considered actresses like Sanchita Shetty and Nanditha.

They settled on Taapsee finally because of one particular reason. They have plans to release dubbed version of the movie later, especially in Telugu. Taapsee is one actress who has a popularity across multiple industries and this would help the producers sell the dubbing rights or so they say.

Now the question whether Taapsee will green light the whole thing is because the role is after all that of a secondary character to Nayantara’s lead, and it is unclear how the actress will make her decision as her career graph is looking up these days as she has certain interesting projects in her kitty.

She is currently starring in the upcoming Hindi movie Runningshaadi.com.

Idhu Namma Aaalu would be a good project to be associated with though as it has quite a few things going for it. Not only is the flick featuring the reunion of Nayantara and Simbu on screen after 8 long years, it also has Simbu’s brother Kuralarasan debuting as a composer.

There are a few interesting things like candid shots of Nayantara being used in song sequences and such which has also drawn attention to the movie and help build up its hype.

The vibrant, bubbly and charming girl Taapsee who is known for her glamorous roles, has been cast for a negative role in her upcoming Tamil movie!

This role seems to be breaking the stereotypical image of Taapsee who is usually cast to contribute significantly to the glamour quotient of her movies.

Directed by Aishwarya Dhanush, this movie will show Taapsee in never-seen-before Avatar.

Talking about her role, in a recent event, Taapsee said, “I must thank Aishwarya Dhanush for trusting me and offering me such an interesting role. I think we all have grey shades and this role has given me a chance to explore all that.”

Having shifted her base from Hyderabad to Mumbai, it has been a long time since Taapsee signed a Telugu film.
She only has Raghava Lawrence’s Muni 3 lined up for release later this year.

It remains to be seen whether Taapsee is able to capitalise on this role or fall flat in her attempts to break the stereotype she’s into.
