Now wait a minute folks, before you roll your eyes – this is pretty rare in tinsel town, by any standards. Taapsee Pannu apparently refused to accept a paycheque of any kind for her guest appearance in the movie Kathai Thirikkaathai Vasanam Iyakkam.
The movie, which is being directed by actor/director Parthiepan, features her as a guitar instructor. Now, what makes this even more interesting is that this was not just your run of the mill cameo where you show up for a shot or two and then be on your merry way, no.
Tapsee actually had to learn to get the feel of the instrument, body language and other rudimentary guitar skills from an ace instructor to perfect her part, which she did, reportedly.
Then why would she refuse payment for her work, especially after going that extra mile? We don’t know but the respect for director Parthiepan might have something to do with it.
The flick itself is a unique project, in which the lead roles are being done by new comers or yet unknown actors while established stars make guest appearances … and there are a lot of such appearances.
Some of the big names doing cameos in the film are Taapsee of course, Amala Paul, Iniya, Arya , Lawrence, Srikanth, Bharath, Vishal, Cheran, Prakash Raj and the list goes on.
The movie has a tagline which reads ‘the movie without a story’. Whatever it is that has got Pathiepan working so hard and inspiring other stars to devote their time, some of them free of cost, must be something worthy indeed.
Let us wait and see what Kathai Thiraikkathai Vasanam Iyakkam holds for us..
