King Nagarjuna has scored a much-needed hit as a solo hero with the flick ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’. The movie has collected Rs 50 crores and now this movie is all set for Tamil release.

Touted to be a nice romantic village backdrop drama, this movie has a universal nativity for entire South India. So the makers and Nag has decided to release this flick in Tamil in few theaters with the title ‘Sokkali Minor.’ Already Nag was famous with the success of ‘Oopiri’ in Tamil Nadu as Karthi’s factor helped them to release there. Now this fame will be useful to release ‘Sokkali Minor’ in Tamil to continue the hit streak.

Nag will also promote this movie with some interviews for some leading Tamil channels soon. Already the promos are aired prior release. Soon they will find a slot in February to release this flick. The only competitor for this flick will be Suriya’s ‘Singam-3’ which has no clear release date.

Akkineni Nagarjuna is elated with the success of his recently released family entertainer “Soggade ChinniN ayana”. As per latest reports, he is planning to make a sequel for the film.

Recently, Nag asked his film’s director Kalyan Krishna to pen the script for the sequel. It is known that Nag played dual roles in the film as Bangarraju and his son Ram Mohan. The role of Bangarraju, which has ghost angle to it, received lot of appreciation so Nag decided to extend the character of Bangarraju in the sequel.

Interestingly, he has decided to name the sequel ‘Bangarraju’ only.

“Soggade Chinni Nayana” was released on 15th January and with blockbuster talk and collections, turned as Sankrtanthi winner. Actresses Lavanya Tripathi and Ramya Krishnan were ably supported by Anasuya and Hamsa Nandini to give enough eye feast as the leading ladies.

If everything goes accordingly, “Soggade Chinni Nayana” sequel will be released for Sankranthi 2017.

Satellite rights are a major income source for the producers to recover good amount of their total investment. Four movies are set to clash at the box office for this sankranthi season and here is the satellite rights comparison.

MAA TV acquired the satellite rights of Sharwanand starrer Express Raja. Produced by UV Creations, Rs 3.5 Crore was pocketed by this film.

Gemini TV showed faith in Nagarjuna’s family entertainer Soggade Chinni Nayana and acquired satellite rights by shelling Rs 6.5 Crore. Balayya Babu’s action entertainer 2 Dictator, produced by EROS, was also pocketed by Gemini TV with an expense of Rs 6.5 Crore.

Gemini TV had to shell out huge Rs 9 Crore to grab the satellite rights of 1 NannakuPrematho, the craziest movie of this season. This NTR starrer is directed by talented Sukumar, and it has unprecedented craze among class audiences.

Young tiger Jr NTR will soon be appearing on the Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu (MEK) show hosted by Akkineni Nagarjuna. The show has already recorded highest TRPs on MAA TV channel and became immensely popular. It is now attracting top celebrities as a way to promote their films.

NTR will be seen on the hot seat on the eve of Sankranti to promote his ‘Nannaku Prematho’ to be released on 13th of this month. The episode featuring NTR has already been shot and NTR has reportedly answered 12 questions and won 12.5 lakhs prize money, the highest any celebrity won on this MEK show.

It seems that Nagarjuna Akkineni has decided to exhibit once again publicly his love for his father and the late legendary Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

These two heroes who belong to two different legendary families will face each other with their film’s Dictator and Soggage Chinni Nayana in the pongal race for the year 2016.

Twice in the past too…

This isn’t any new competition for Nag and Balakrishna. In fact, these two top heroes fought in the Pongal twice. In 1987 Balakrishna’s ‘Bhargava Ramudu’ was released on 14th of January, while Nagarjuna’s ‘Majnu’ too released on the same day. While the overall result of these two films were average, Bhargava Ramudu was a hit in few centres and Majnu gained good response in others.

Individually speaking, Balakrishna released eleven of his films for Pongal and Nagarjuna has only four releases. Out of eleven releases, Balayya has seven hits while others were a flop. Nagarjuna’s films that released for Pongal were all average or above average films. That clearly says Balakrishna is the real Pongal hero.

Also in 1996 ‘Vamsanikokkadu’ and ‘Vajram’ of Balayya and Nagarjuna locked horns for Sankranthi. Now, after a span of twenty years Balakrishna and Nagarjuna are once again fighting out for Sankranthi.

Akkineni Nagarjuna has always maintained his gentleman avatar when it comes to social interactions whether it is with media or his fans. However, the other day, a rare incident happened in which Nag was seen in an angry mode when interacting with media.

Nagarjuna was bombarded with a lot of questions and the handsome actor patiently responded to all their queries by putting a smiling face. However, one enthusiastic journalist made the actor uncomfortable by asking about Shah Rukh Khan’s recent statement regarding the rising intolerance in India.

Even before the journo could finish the question and ask about Nag’s views, a visibly upset Nagarjuna pushed the mikes away and left immediately, probably to avoid further controversies.

The scion of Akkineni family, Akhil’s debut film ‘Akhil’ was supposed to hit screens on 22nd October. However, the film was postponed just a week before the release. This postponement of ‘Akhil’ has now troubled the planning of elder brother Naga Chaitanya and dad Nagarjuna.

Chaitanya’s new film ‘Saahasam Swasaga Sagipo’, directed by Gautam Menon, was supposed to hit screens for Diwali, but now the film has been postponed to December first week.

Nagarjuna’s latest film ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ was slated for release in November end, but now the film has been pushed to December last week to keep a healthy gap between the releases of Akkineni family heroes.
‘Akhil’ might land any time in November month.

King Nagarjuna is busy with the shooting part of his upcoming films “Soggade Chinni Nayana” and “Oopiri.” He recently completed the shooting of ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ in which he is playing the lead role and is continuing shooting for Vamsi Paidipally directorial “Oopiri.” Oopiri also stars Tamil hero Karthi is a crucial role.

In the interval between his films shoot, he is putting on the makeup for the reality show – Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu season 3. With such heavy schedule to he is listening to stories for his next film.

In the process, he recently gave green signal to a story narrated by Kranthi Madhav, who earlier directed “Onamalu” and “Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju.” Nag was impressed by the story and accepted to do this.

Before all this happened, Kranthi Madhav first approached Venkatesh and narrated the story. In the beginning Venky accepted the story; there was also an official announcement about Venkatesh doing this film. But in the last minute he dropped the idea of acting in this film due to personal reasons.

That’s how Nagarjuna accepted the story that got rejected by his co-actor and brother in law Venkatesh.

Akkineni Nagarjuna, who is in Mysore for the shooting of “Soggade Chinni Nayana”, was recently shown few parts of the film. Nagarjuna, who saw the initial rushes of the film, was not satisfied with the outcome and suggested for the reshoot of particular scenes. He also roped in a senior writer to re-write those scenes.

Nagarjuna, when narrated SCN, was impressed by the story and screenplay and gave the green signal, but was surprised by the outcome of the film, as directed version was a little bit off track with the narrated version.

Nagrjuna took up the responsibility of producing the film and is making it under Annapurna Studios banner combined with Ram Mohan.

Director Kalyan Krishna, who is making his debut with SCN, was given an advice by Nagarjuna of reshooting few scenes in the second half that were obstructing the flow of the film. Nagarjuna has also hired a senior writer in Tollywood who can re-write those scenes and assist Kalyan in screenplay making. Producer Ram Mohan has given the story line of this film and later developed the screenplay.

If the film goes for a reshoot, then Nagarjuna should first complete “Oopiri” which also stars Karthi and later starts re-shooting of SCN.

“Soggade Chinni Nayana” teaser was released on 29th of August on the eve of Nagarjuna bday.

As the teaser was released, it gained a positive response from the audience. Keeping the same in mind, Nagarjuna is taking enough care of not disappointing audience on the silver screen.

Nagarjuna will be seen in a dual role in “Soggade Chinni Nayana”. Ramya Krishna, Lavanya Tripathi are female leads, Anup Rubens is fetching music to this one. Rumours have that that one character of Nagarjuna in the film is a spook.

Ramya Krishna is the actress who has got the best set of hits with Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna and Venkatesh. Compared to others, she was close to Nagarjuna as the two got top level blockbusters in the industry, couple of decades back.

Ramya Krishna was once considered as a mascot to the Akkineni star. Now, Nagarjuna’s big screen career is in deep trouble. Most of his past venture bounced at the box office and they failed utterly to exude profits to the distributors.

Now, as the mascot of Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna, is acting with him again in “Soggade Chinni Nayana”, we can expect this actress to bring back the luck to Nagarjuna, on the big screen.
