It’s high time Mr.Neeraj Pandey stops producing films and stick to directing. The films he directed are A Wednesday, Special 26, Baby and the upcoming Dhoni, whereas he produced films like Total Siyaapa. His latest offering as a producer is Rustom directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.

Inspired by the infamous Navati case, Rustom stars Akshay Kumar and Illeana as the leads.

Rustom Parvi played by Akshay is a naval officer with a gorgeous wife Cynthia played by Illeana. Cynthia has an extra marital affair and Rustom ends up murdering that guy (a millionaire played by Arjan Bajwa). However there is much more to the affair and murder to the story. There is tabloid. There is a sister who is hell-bent on vengeance. Majority of the film is a courtroom drama where Rustom fights his own case. He strategically plots things. There is a ‘gaddar’I aspect also to the film.

The director probably didn’t care about the subtext at all. You can see the people in the scenes describing what’s happening in the scene verbally. Also, had it been the case that the makers strictly stuck to the real incident, it would have been good. They additions they made to the real story ended up in making it a very uninteresting and clichéd piece.

Shockingly the trailers, the publicity and the promotions were absolutely up to the mark. However, once the movie begins, you see that it’s a mundane movie which was just pretentious. Akshay Kumar also was not in the right form. He seemed unenthusiastic in most scenes, not sure if he was trying to be so or anything else. Illeana was Ok. Kumud Mishra is wasted and Schin Khadekar was irritating. Esha Gupta’s look was awful. The whole production design and coloring seemed to go overboard. Pavan Malhotra , as usual delivers some good performance.

The screenplay also is so backward. The proof Rustom sees to figure out Cynthia has an affair looks so ready-made. The patriotism punch also seems old-fashioned and made-up.

The music of the film provides some relief and Aksay sparks in a couple of scenes.

The production design seems to overtly done.

The movie has a voiceover by Manoj Bajpayee.

The film is gripping only in few episodes and the rest of the film is unemotionally funny, which is definitely not expected when it has the name Neeraj Pandey associated with it.

All in all, Rustom is below average.

Cute Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has turned sexy to promote Akshay Kumar’s latest release ‘Rustom’.

Alia chose to dance to one of the most famous songs of Akshay Kumar, ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ from film Mohra (1994). The original song had yesteryear hottie Raveena Tandon draped in a wet yellow saree and exposing her bosoms to give a maximum kick to Akshay and viewers.

Following the footsteps of Raveena, Alia also draped herself in a yellow saree to look irresistibly sexy. She oozed hotness with her sexy moves. Alia also wore a cap which Navy officers generally wear to promote ‘Rustom’, which explore the murder charge on a decorated Navy officer.

While ‘Rustom’ makers got their publicity from Alia, viewers soaked in naughty titillations seeing Alia in partly wet yellow saree.

Goa beauty Ileana, who ruled the southern film industry a few years ago, is currently begging for film offers both in Bollywood and south.

When she was at the top of her game, she left South hoping to have a prosperous career in Bollywood. But, her luck didn’t shine at North, and the glam doll has just done 4-5 films in Bollywood so far. It is heard that Ileana’s Australian boyfriend is the reason for the slump in her career.

Goan beauty Ileana, who is noted for her perfect hour glass figure, is heard to be making plans to settle down by marrying her Australian boyfriend, Andrew.

Actress Ileana D’Cruz, who has not been seen in a Telugu movie for the last four years, was in Hyderabad the other day for taking part in a promotional campaign of a product. Speaking to media, she told “I don’t want to leave Hyderabad. Every time I come here, I am flooded with this feeling. I remember all the roads, I know the shortcuts. I miss the food even more. The first thing I did when I came here was to order Biryani. I know everyone in Hyderabad, and it feels like home”.

Ileana D’Cruz made her acting debut with the Telugu movie “Devadasu” in 2006 and went on to become one of the most sought-after actresses in the Telugu film industry during the next six years. She was last seen in the Tollywood movie, “Devudu Chesina Manushulu,” in 2012. But Ileana has not signed a Telugu project after the success of her debut Bollywood movie “Barfi” in 2012.

Ileana was talking to media, said “There was no plan to settle down in Bollywood and not do films in Tollywood. I guess people misunderstood when I did my first Bollywood film (‘Barfi’) and since it was a big success, may be people thought I was not interested in Tollywood anymore. I would love to be back here. It was a lot more fun working in Tollywood. I was doing four films a year… I was constantly working. In Bollywood, it is a much longer process. But I love both industries”.

The immigration authorities at Heathrow Airport in London have reportedly detained Bollywood star hero Akshay Kumar for over an hour-and-a-half after he was found to have been travelling without proper travel documents.

This issue took place yesterday afternoon when Akshay arrived in London along with his personal trainer to take part in the shoot of his upcoming period drama film Rustom. During the period of detaining, Akshay was made to sit in the general holding area prescribed for detained passengers.

Sources revealed that Akshay Kumar had attracted sizeable attention in the general holding area as overenthusiastic fans troubled him enough to click photographs and selfies.

At one point, an irritated Akshay even requested that he be allowed to sit in a private area, but his request was softly declined by the authorities saying that there was no such designated area for celebs.
