Superstar Rajinikanth’s previous release Kabali movie has bagged mixed response. One of the distributors has revealed the actual performance of this flick.

After the hype created by the flick’s teaser, the expectations were gone to sky high. This has made the makers to sell their movie to high prices for distribution. Unfortunately, the movie opened with mixed responses from the critics. The movie was officially declared average but the producer Kalaipu S Thanu has claimed that the movie has grossed more than 300 crores. Within one month of the movie’s release, the distributors went to Thanu to cover their losses. As producer didn’t take responsibility, rumors were rife that all the distributors would agitate against The team of Kabali

Interestingly Madurai distributor leaked an audio clip of distributors talking on WhatsApp. It states that the movie Kabali has been successfully running on 214th day with 40+ tickets. This clip is evident that the movie has become hit.

Rajinikanth’s Kabali is all set to release on July 22 worldwide. Only one day to go and that Kabali fever has caught on like crazy. It’s releasing in 5000+ screens worldwide in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. For the first time, an Indian movie will have a Malay version. That will release in Malaysia on July 29. Irrfan Khan, who is currently promoting his upcoming film Madaari, said that the similarity between the films’ posters,“Even I didn’t know that. We are small filmmakers, and I saw that Rajinikanthji’s film stole the poster of our film. You see his film’s poster and see our film’s poster. No big deal about it. Watch his film and watch our film, too.” This quote made many believe that the poster has actually been stolen considering the glaring similarity between the two.

But it seems it was just a fragment of a fan’s imagination. Both the posters had the faces of the lead actors, Irrfan Khan and Rajinikanth, with numerous buildings standing horizontally on their faces. Ever since Rajinikanth’s Kabali was announced various posters of the film have been doing the rounds. Rajinikanth had shared two posters on his Twitter account in September last year when the shooting had begun.

Many official posters of the film have come out after that -the one with Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte and China actor Wilson Choa, one in which he is staring at a gun in his hand, one where he is sitting on a sofa and one showing him with sunglasses inside the profile.

Rajinikanth’s Kabali is all about a former gangster trying to locate the whereabouts of his daughter in Malaysia. The story has a striking resemblance to the subject of Taken, which traces the story of a former Secret Service agent, played by Liam Neeson, whose teenage daughter gets kidnapped by human trafficking mafia while on a trip to Paris.

With no clue about the whereabouts of his daughter, Neeson travels all the way to Paris to trace her.The gripping action thriller became a huge hit, and it had 2 sequels titled Taken 2 and 3.

Even though there is no official clarification, speculations are rife that Kabali is inspired from this only. Well, we can find out only when the film hits screens on July 1st.

The teaser of Superstar Rajnikanth’ supcoming gangster film ‘Kabali’ has achieved the record of the highest viewed Indian film teaser with morethan 17.1 million views and counting.

Earlier, the most viewed records were held by the teasers of Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’ followed by Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’.

Mahadeva is a gangster action film that is loosely based on the real of life once Chennai mafia don Kabali. The film is now on the verge of its completion. The shooting canned in few parts of Goa and Chennai. A majority of Mahadeva is shot in Malaysia.
