Not worried about the competition, the actor put up this post on behalf of the crew as well.

“Hi all,
Finally, 7th Day hits the screens on the 12th of April. On many different counts, I don’t think there has been another film in my career with which I have been involved at so many different levels like this one. Like I said in my post when we started shoot, it’s an experiment in casting, conception and narration.
A lot of you have asked why isn’t there a trailer for the film. I strongly feel that putting out a minute and a half of footage of any film will inadvertently lead you into constructing your own idea about the film, and I didn’t want that to be the case with 7th Day. This is a film that warrants a watch with no prior design in your minds.

As this journey nears it’s end there are so many people that I need to thank. But most of all, THANK YOU ALL!! No other film of mine has garnered so much interest amongst the online community. For a film that hardly has a known name associated with it, that’s quite something. So cheers guys, to the fantastic support you have shown.

Lastly, I sincerely wish the legend Mammukka and my friend Aashiq, and Dileepettan and Rafikka the very best for Gangster and Ring Master. Indeed, all the very best for Chackochan and Padmakumar too for Pauly Technic. I myself am looking forward to watching the films!

Love,
Prithvi & Team 7th Day.”

This Vishu release week sure looks like a big one for Mollywood!

Shyamdhar Confident in 7th Day

Director Shyamdhar whose movie 7th Day, starring Prithviraj, is all set to release tomorrow on the 11th is completely confident in his movie.

7thday-release

“I put a lot of effort in to the script and it was done with patience. I’m confident that it will entertain people.” Says Shyamdhar about his movie, which he calls a ‘feel good suspense thriller’.

He also refused to comment on Aashiq Abu’s Gangster starring Mammootty, which is also releasing on the same day, in spite of the massive amounts of buzz it’s getting. Aashiq and Megastar Mammotty are established veterans in the industry and I’m just starting off, he adds.

Prithviraj also gets high praise from the young director for the amount of effort he put into playing his part – that of a 42 year old policeman with a peculiar character who goes above and beyond the scope of his duty to solve the mystery involved.

Ajmal Ameer who was initially supposed to play a major role in the movie was cut out making some news in the media. Though the actor and the director claimed different reasons for this decision, the fact remains we do not know if his part was replaced or left out.

The plot revolves around the series of events that turn the lives of five people upside down, on Christmas night and ends on New Year’s Day – signifying the seven days hinted in the title. The film is suspenseful and nail biting, if the rumours are to be believed.

Farhan Akhtar to be in Antichrist!

Farhan Akhtar is going to play a pivotal role in Lijo Pellissery’s Antichrist – but not in Mollywood, in Bollywood.

FARHAN_AKHTAR

Yes, that’s right – the movie which was dropped from Mollywood because of its huge production cost of Rs. 15 crores, is soon to be taken up by a top Bollywood production company, in tie up with Mollywood’s August Cinemas and Farhan is going to share screen space with none other than Prithviraj.

Initially, in the Malayalam version, the three key roles were to be played by Prithviraj, Fahad Fazil and Indrajith. Now, it seems, Prithviraj will stay in the mix but the third actor still remains undecided upon.

Farhan is a huge admirer of Mammootty and even went so far as to say that “The world recognizes him because of Mammootty.”

The audience will have to just wait and see how the thriller from Mollywood’s own Lijo with Prithviraj in it, is going to play out in the ‘big bucks’ world of Bollywood.

Lijo’s Antichrist to hit Bollywood?

It was some time ago that Lijo Jose Pellissery, son of late actor Jose Pellissery, who has made a mark with movies like ‘Amen’, promised his fans about his upcoming big budget venture – Antichrist- starring Prithviraj, his brother Indrajith and Fahad Fazil.

However, the ‘big budget’ is the factor that seems to have caused all the trouble as the movie was shelved half way through because the production company could not afford the supposed Rs. 15 crore budget.

News has just surfaced that production house involved, Prithviraj’s August Cinemas, maybe in talks with a Bollywood company to mark a tie up to get the movie made in Hindi!

Movies of this genre, the ‘spritual/religion based thrillers’, are not much of a norm in India while they have always been cash cows for Hollywood and other foreign film industries. It would be interesting to see how Lijo and August Cinemas manage to pull this one off while maybe setting the stage for a whole new crop of movies in this area..

Prithviraj to Tackle Comedy

With Prithviraj’s much anticipated crime thriller ‘7th Day’ hitting the big screens soon, it comes as no surprise to anyone who knows of the young and versatile actor that he plans to take on humorous projects for a change.

prithviraj

Anil Radhakrishna Menon, who debuted last year as an independent director with the hit, ‘North 24 Kaatham’, has announced that Prithvi will be the lead of his next comedy flick about a gang of thieves named ‘Sapthamashri Thaskarah’. The movie which was originally set to star Asif Ali and Jayasurya changed its course when Prithvi read the script and showed great interest in the lead role. It is to be produced under the banner of Prithviraj’s own August Cinemas. Another big name, Fahad Fazil, may also join the cast in an important role.

The next fun project in the pipeline for Prithvi would be script writer turned director Dileesh Nair’s ‘Tamaar Padaar’ produced by Rejaputhra Renjith. This one is rumoured to be a full length comical family entertainer. Dileesh Nair has proven himself a great story teller as a script writer with movies like ‘Salt n Pepper’, ‘Da Thadiya’ and ‘Idukki Gold’.

We’ll simply have to see what the stars have in store for Prithvi’s funny side on the big screen..

The main concern among the producers given the big budgets and the international release, remains that of piracy. Let’s hope the movies are seen on the big screen the way they were meant to be seen and brings in the big bucks for the ambitious producers.

The day therefore officially becomes the one for this year’s Vishu releases and makes it a happy Vishu for Mallus everywhere!
