Prakash Raj missed disaster narrowly!

Versatile actor Prakash Raj missed disaster narrowly. This is now the statement which is being heard in social media. Instead of Prakash Raj, film makers of “Aagadu” took Sonu Sood. From the past few years, Mahesh – Prakash Raj combination has been a huge hit.

Prakash Raj Narrowly Escapes

Prakash Raj would have swiped off that record of he came up with “Aagadu”. In the current scenario, “Aagadu” settled with an average talk and the audience are not too happy with Srinu Vaitla. As Prakash Raj is not in this project, people are now feeling that he missed a massive disaster narrowly.

On the other hand, “Gopala Gopala” is set to hit the 100 Crores club in Tollywood. After “Aagadu”, “Gopala Gopala” has the chance to bang that collection mark. If this one too fails to touch that mark, “Bahubali” will surely take away that record.

Ulavacharu Biryani Movie Review

Ulavacharu Biryani is the official remake of the hit-Malayalam film “Salt N Pepper” directed by Aashiq Abu. The movie has been in the news since a long time due to Prakash Raj’s controversies off screen.

Here is the Ulavacharu Biryani Movie Review

Plot :

Kalidasu(Prakash Raj) is a 45 year old archaeologist, who is a die hard foodie, and can go to any lengths to taste good food.
His uncle(M S Narayana) is always behind him and keeps bugging him to get married.

One day Kalidasu’s nephew(Tejas) gifts him a phone, and the first call he receives is a wrong number from a dubbing artist called Gauri(Sneha). The conversation on the phone starts with a small fight, but after several calls, Kalidasu and Gauri become thick friends.
Both of them share the same interests on food, and exchange recipes over the phone.

Confusion erupts when instead of meeting each other, they send their cousins. Watch the movie to find out what exactly happens later.

Performances and Technical Aspects :

Prakash Raj is the backbone of this movie. His acting, direction and treatment of the subject forms the soul of the movie. His depiction of Kalidasu looks effortless and believable. The only drawback however, is his age. He looks too old to play the character which he does. However, he makes up for that with his impeccable dialogue delivery and acting skills.

Sneha too, delivers a power packed performance. She overshadows Prakash Raj in some of the sequences which is great. The way she has shown the displeasure in the life of the character is too good. Her role has been executed to perfection. Her innocence and childish charm is sure to earn her a lot of accolades and offers in the near future.

Debutant Tejas impresses with his acting skills. He looks a master. To a lay man, he will not come across as a debutant for sure. Such is his acting prowess! With amazing screen presence and seamless transition in expressions, he is sure to go a long way.

Samyuktha is good in her role and skims through the part given to her.

As mentioned earlier, Prakash Raj is indeed the backbone of the film. His presence in the project makes the film bearable to an extent. His direction is just about average.

The camera work of the film is amazing. The way the archaeology surveys and government buildings have been shown is impressive.

Ilayaraja has composed the music for the film. And the soundtracks are decent. The song describing food, with ironical and hilarious lyrics, is a pleasure to the ears.
The background score, also composed by Ilayaraja, keeps the film simple at heart and is one of the few very good things about the film.

Kishore’s editing is average. The movie should have been shorter by another 20 mins for sure.

Hawk-Eye Analysis :

Ulavacharu Biryani has its moments. The film is good in bits and pieces which frustrates the audience because there is no stable flow of story at all.

As the name suggests, ‘food’ plays an important role in Ulavacharu Biryani. The story of the film revolves around foodies.

The biggest drawbacks of the film are its story and pace. The story of the film has been seen on the screen too many times. The story has a stark resemblance to the plot of “Mujhse Fraandship Karoge”.
The movie progresses at a painfully slow pace.
From the very first scene, the movie is slow. For those who enjoy dramatic melodies, you’ll like this one.

The director Prakash Raj has made suitable changes in the screenplay of the film when compared to the original screenplay of “Salt N Pepper”. But the changes itself spoil the mood of the film as the entire product looks half-cooked and the audiences fail to understand what really happens at the end.

Prakash Raj starts off with an interesting set up in the love story, but loses the plot half way through.

The slow pace and drab editing makes the film painfully unbearable 10 minutes after the interval.
The film becomes predictable after the interval and as expected, there is the same-old happy ending to the movie.

The cast of the film slips in easily. But the slow pace of the movie ensures that they dont get their credit. Young actor Tejas is someone to watch out for.

Ilayaraja’s music and background score makes the movie bearable but at the end of it all, it just doesn’t work.

Decent entertainer values of “Salt N Pepper” had also driven the Malayalam audience crazy towards theatres to watch Ulavacharu Biryani. But they were sorely disappointed, I’m sure.

Overall, the film is good in bits and pieces but it’s definitely not the ‘Typical weekend entertainer’.

Prakash Raj To Play Ram Charan’s Grandfather

All seems to be well in tinsel town now.

For the past couple of weeks, the shooting of Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s next, ‘Govindudu Andarivadele‘ had been stalled. This had lead to speculations that there were some gruesome issues with the film which are leading to constant delays.

Some reports even claimed that the film is going to be shelved soon.

However, the true reason of the shooting being stalled has surface now.

Apparently, Tamil Actor Raj Kiran was earlier brought on board to play the role of Ram Charans grandfather in the movie. The makers of the film had also shot for a few days with the actor.

However, it seems that the director Krishna Vamsi was not happy with Raj Kiran’s performance and therefore decided to replace him with Prakash Raj.

Prakash Raj will now play the role of Ram Charan’s grandfather in the movie.

Well, now that the issues have been sorted, here’s hoping that the movie is out soon and Cherry’s fans get to see some good work from him.

Keep following Chitramala for your daily dose of Entertainment!

Prakash Raj clears on issues with Mahesh Babu

Bad luck seems to be chasing actor Prakash Raj big time. After being banned in Tollywood post the complaint lodged against him by the Directors’ and the Producers’ association in Tollywood, Prakash Raj thought it was compelling to state the reasons as to why he was replaced with Sonu Sood after shooting a massive chunk of the movie Aagadu with Mahesh and Srinu Vaitla. The National Award Winner made a statement with PTI to this effect.

Prakash-Raj-Mahesh-Aagadu

“The truth is, i was part of the film. I completed the scene and left after the shoot and it is also true that i have been replaced. Yes, there have been creative differences between the director and me. But since it has been blown out of proportion i thought i should clear things myself. I respect Mahesh a lot and there’s no issue between us. Same is the case with the assistant director; if he comes to me with a script tomorrow we may work together” he stated.

Prakash Raj was careful not to comment about Vaitla. Putting it diplomatically he said that things turned dramatic with ‘one’ person ruining it all on the sets – “There is one man behind all this, who is passing these stories only to cover up his own inability. This is not just about me, but it is bringing differences among the entire film fraternity. I would not like to reveal his name yet as i may influence the judgement.” he added.

Speaking about the committee’s pending decision to ban him completely, he said –
“Once the committee is formed and if they think that i am at fault, i will apologize”.

Nayanthara,Prakash Raj Banned From Tollywood

First it was the news of unprofessional-ism haunting the celebrities and now, it’s the fear of being banned that is giving them sleepless nights.

nayanatara-ban

After being kicked out of Sreenu Vaitla’s next, ‘Aagadu’, there has been widespread angst against Prakash Raj. Some have even requested the authorities to ban him from the Telugu Film Industry.

Following this, Nayanthara faces the arduous task of being banned as well. Following her ‘no show’ at a promotional event for her Kahaani remake Anamika, the makers have requested authorities to ban her from the Telugu film industry, since they were upset that Nayanthara, who is the face of the film, cannot ditch them for an event like the audio launch of a film.

Coincidentally, Nayanthara seems to be having a flourishing career in Tollywood compared to other film industries, with most of the top actors expressing desire to act with her, ever since her comeback. The actress had taken a break from films after Srirama Rajyam, where she played Sita. She was supposed to wed actor-choreographer-director Prabhudheva, but the relationship went sour and they called it off. With her comeback, she has been romancing heroes young and old and is back in demand.

prakash-raj-vs-srinu-vaitla

Nayan, who was last seen in the Kannada film Super opposite Upendra, has been approached by actors like Sudeep too for Kannada. If the Telugu ban happens, we wonder if she will head towards Sandalwood, where she still remains one of the highest paid heroines till date.

It,therefore, remains to be seen whether these celebrities are actually banned from the Telugu Film Industry following widespread anger against them.

Director’s Revenge Against The Villain !

Ace Director Sreenu Vaitla is known for the funny one-liners in films. He has a knack of taking digs at celebrities who irk him during shootings.

It has been quite evident in his films where we have seen characters like Fire Star in Dubai Seenu and Music Director Jaya Surya in King movies respectively. These characters were directed at popular celebrities of Tollywood.

srinu-vaitla-revenge

And now, Sreenu Vaitla seems to have decided to take his ‘Revenge style’ to the next level.

Supposedly, Prakash Raj bothered Sreenu Vaitla to such an extent that the latter kicked out the former from his latest film ‘Aagadu’. In addition to that, a case was filed against Prakash Raj in Directors’ Association to ban the actor permanently from the Telugu film industry.

While addressing the media regarding this issue, Prakash Raj said, “There is only one person behind all this. Generally, no one has a problem with me but this guy does.”

prakash-raj-vs-srinu-vaitla

Although Prakash Raj did not mention the name of that ‘Guy’, we are sure it is Sreenu Vaitla, given the ongoing tussle between them.

It therefore remains to be seen where this storm is taken to and how Sreenu Vaitla takes his revenge by incorporationg characters in his movies.
