Kalyanram Nandamuri’s latest release ‘Ism’ met with below par reviews and not so favorable word of mouth when it hit screens on 21st October.

As the Nandamuri hero was confident of the subject of crazy director Puri Jagannadh, he produced the film under his home banner. It seems that it has proved to be a costly mistake on the actor’s part. Reports suggest that Kalyanram lost close to Rs 10 Cr in this project. He is heard to have invested around Rs 25 Cr despite it was way over his market range.

This loss is another blow to Kalyanram who already lost big chunks by producing Ravi Teja’s ‘Kick 2’. After the success of ‘Pataas,’ Kalyanram’s ‘Sher’ turned out to be a disaster but the actor didn’t suffer much then as it was a small budget film.

He is currently waiting for NTR to give a green signal so that he will produce this movie and cover up his losses.

Puri not only sang the film’s title song but also penned it, the first ever song for him as a lyric writer. The second song he sang in the film was ‘Yey Yey’.

Puri’s first stint as a singer was for Mahesh Babu’s ‘Businessman’. He had then sung a couple of lines for the film’s theme song ‘Bhaag Saale’. His voice was also heard in the ‘Devuda’ song in ‘Temper’. Puri‘s pen power is already proved in the form of razor sharp dialogues. We need to see if he possesses the same vigor in lyric writing.

Director Sriwass, who made the films Lakshyam, Loukyam and Dictator movies in the past, has been working on a script with which he will make a film by roping in Gopichand for the lead role. But, the buzz reveals that the project might not happen now as Gopichand moved on to another director. Gopichand is going to work in the direction of Sampath Nandi.
