After scoring a super hit with 2.0, director Shankar has decided to make another sequel. This time, it was for his 1995 blockbuster Indian. Titled Indian 2, this project was launched earlier this year. While Kamal Haasan was retained as the lead actor, Kajal Aggarwal has been roped in as the lead actress.

After a few days of shoot, the team decided to keep it aside for a while. The first reason for the halt is Kamal, who got busy in his political works for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The second one is that Lyca Productions, which is producing the flick, was not ready to give the budget quoted by Shankar.

Left with no choice, Shankar approached popular production house Reliance Entertainment to save his project. Apparently, Reliance agreed to do that. We just have to see whether Reliance will entirely take over the project or co-produce the film with Lyca.

After 2.0, maverick director Shankar is currently busy with the works of his upcoming film Indian 2 which stars Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. The shoot was started in a grand style last month. But the latest we hear is that all works of the film are halted currently.

According to the sources, Lyca productions, which is producing the films, has asked Shankar to give the exact budget estimate and stick to it. But Shankar has apparently said that he can’t estimate budget as such as the film can demand more future resulting in more budget.

But Lyca is not ready to proceed in such way as they got into deep losses following such a way for their last film, 2.0. The film, commercially, was a disaster in Tamil and got a loss around Rs. 25 crores in Telugu. Thus, the future of Indian 2 is under the stakes now.

Bharateeyudu 2 is the sequel for the super hit film Bharateeyudu. The film is titled as Indian 2 in Tamil. The makers kick-started the first schedule of the film sometime back in Chennai but due to some production design delays, the shoot got postponed.

After acquiring all necessary things for the shoot, the makers resumed the film’s shoot today in Chennai. Some important scenes are planned to be shot in this schedule now. Kajal Aggarwal is playing the heroine and she is expected to take part in the current schedule.

The film will also has Delhi Ganesh and Nedumudi Venu in key characters. The makers are planning to release the film for Pongal 2020. Anirudh Ravichander is the music director. Directed by Shankar, the film is produced by Lyca Productions.

Siddarth who made his debut as an actor with the film Boys was shot to fame instantly in Tollywood with the movie Bommarillu. The actor still enjoys a huge fan base but he is not very much active with movies. His last film is Gruham which has become a big hit at the box-office. There were rumors in the recent past that Siddarth is going to be a part of an upcoming movie starring Kamal Haasan in the lead.

Director Shankar is said to have considered Siddharth for a crucial role in Indian 2 but now we came to know that he is not a part of the project anymore. The latest buzz is that Arya is on board to play the same role in the movie. For some reason, the makers are now choosing Arya over Siddarth.

It must be noted that initially STR was reported to be playing this role but Simbhu is said to be not a part of the project anymore. An official confirmation on the same is awaited in this regard.

The regular shoot of the film is going to begin this month and the makers are all kicked about the film’s shoot.

The latest buzz is that the makers wanted to begin the shooting for the film soon after the release of 2 Point O. As part of the preparation, the makers started erecting a special set for the shoot of the film. The pooja ceremony of the same happened in Chennai recently. The film unit already began the pre-production work and the details of the complete cast and crew will be out soon.

Kajal Aggarwal is confirmed to play the female lead in the film.

And what’s interesting is the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film which will also release in several other Indian languages is set to be produced by Telugu ace producer Dil Raju under his Sri Venkateshwara Creations banner.

According to latest reports, lady superstar Nayanthara has been roped in for female actress role in the film. However, an official confirmation is awaited in this regard.

Bharateeyudu was notable for its striking story of a freedom fighter who rises up to fight against corruption in the post-independent India. And now, this sequel is going to be produced on a vast scale.
