The announcement of Kamal Haasan and director Shankar teaming up for a sequel to their super hit venture, Indian, was made at the grand finale of the popular reality show, Bigg Boss Tamil. Kamal Haasan hosted the show and it served as a platform for him to venture into politics.
According to latest reports, the makers of Indian 2 have decided to shoot the film in Hyderabad. It is said that the set work is currently underway at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. Soon, the Indian 2 team is expected to camp at Hyderabad for the shooting.
Earlier, it was announced that Telugu producer Dil Raju would be bankrolling this venture in Tamil and Telugu. Later, he opted out from the film for unknown reasons. Then, Lyca Productions stepped in and has decided to produce the film with a lavish budget.
Meanwhile, Shankar is currently busy with the post-production of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer 2.0, which is slated to hit the theatres by the end of 2018.
