Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, who is awaiting the release of ‘Kaabil,’ has hit the headlines by paying an advance tax of Rs 80 Cr for the third quarter of this year.

Hrithik’s tax feat came as a huge surprise as he has delivered probably the biggest disaster of his career with Mohenjo Daro this year. His earnings from this disaster, brand endorsements and HRX products have reportedly helped him pay this staggering advance tax. He had paid Rs 50 Cr tax during the same period last year.

Aamir Khan, who will be seen in his biggest release of 2016, Dangal, is second in the list with Rs 72 Cr advance tax. Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar make the Top 5. Deepika Padukone topped the category of actresses.

The amount paid by SRK, Big B, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra has not been revealed by the tax department.

The theatrical trailer of Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming film ‘Kaabil’ has impressed viewers but one aspect in the trailer has become a topic of discussion on social media.

Both Hrithik and film’s leading lady Yami Gautham are playing visually challenged people in Kaabil. In the promos, Hrithik was seen wearing a watch to his hand. Some film fanatics had started questioning on social media why Hrithik needed a watch when he was blind in the movie.

Film’s director Sanjay Gupta has responded to these negative comments and said that some people need to improve their common sense and general knowledge. ‘Braille watches have been in use for a long time to help blind people. Hrithik uses the similar watch in the film. I can’t reveal much about the watch as it plays a crucial role in the film. I think some people are determined to criticize despite how hard filmmakers work,’ he added.

Kaabil is one of the upcoming films in Bollywood film industry now. On the other side, Raees is throwing a tight competition for the movie and Kaabil makers are trying to live up to the expectations. The second trailer of Yami Gautam-Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil has been launched. When compared to the first trailer, this second trailer of the film is very much intriguing and exciting. The first trailer is entirely about love but this second trailer has something fascinating in the form of thrill. There is a dialogue in the trailer “Aap ki aankenhi khuli rahengi par aap kuch dekh nahi payengey,” and this dialogue of Hrithik explains the core theme of the film. Rohit and Ronit Roy play the negative roles in the movie. The film releases on 25th January.

The latest information from Malayalam film industry reveals us that the distribution rights of Bollywood super star Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming film Kaabil have been acquired by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s home banner Aashirvad Cinemas in Kerala. This is a big break through for the film in Kerala. The film is being planned for decent release in South states and Mohanlal will surely be releasing the film in good number of theatres. “Hrithik Roshan starring Kaabil will be released in Kerala on January 26 by Aashirvad Release through Maxlab,” read the post on the Aashirvad Cinemas Facebook page.

The production house is co-owned by Antony Perumbavoor, a close friend of Mohanlal. The film Kaabil has Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautham playing the lead roles. It is produced by Rakesh Roshan under his banner FilmKraft Productions and directed by Sanjay Gupta. The film is slated for a worldwide release on January 26.

Top Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who has intimidated Hrithik Roshan with a legal battle has now targeted fellow actress Priyanka Chopra who is making inroads into Hollywood.

The outspoken Kangana has recently attended the ‘No Filter with Neha’ show being hosted by actress Neha Dhupia. When asked what award she would give to Priyanka Chopra, the ‘Queen’ actress was quick to say that she would give an award to PeeCee for ‘Best Fake Smile.’

This comment has left even Neha shocked as no actress generally makes such scathing comment on others, at least in public. Interestingly, PeeCee hasn’t yet reacted to the rude comment of Kangana. Either she must have not heard of this or she may have decided not to go for a verbal war with Kangana, who doesn’t care much for anyone.

Balakrishna Nandamuri’s last release ‘Dictator’ might not have reached the humongous expectations at the box office but the film has now set an enviable record on TV beating the film of Hrithik Roshan.

Greek god Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ world premiere was telecast on Star Gold on 9th of this month. The high-budget historical film, which turned out to be the biggest disaster at the box office, continued its poor run on TV as well. It could fetch only 1511 Rating points.

On the other hand, the Hindi dubbed version of Balayya’s ‘Dictator’, titled ‘Yudh Ek Jung’ was telecast on Rishtey Cineplex channel during the same week, and the film fetched 1649 points. The Balayya starrer not only beat Hrithik’s film but also stood the topped of that week on TV. The rating points are based on only the rural areas.

Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut’s alleged feud which looked to had been ended has resurfaced yet again.

In a recent media interaction, Hrithik Roshan’s father Rakesh Roshan said that his son has been maintaining calm despite someone was spreading lies about him. ‘If he decides to reveal the truth, it will appall everyone,” he added.

The ever-temperamental Kangana Ranaut couldn’t take these comments light, and she hit back at senior Roshan saying, “Why can’t a 43-year-old man stand up for himself? I don’t understand why his father has to rescue him all the time.”

After a gap of 6 years, Ashutosh Gowariker has made a film and the trailers of it indicated that this one is going to sink too like is Whats your Rashee and the completely unnoticed Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se. Well, the man who made Lagaan, Swades and Jodha Akbar can never be underestimated or judged so quickly. Right, Mohenjo Daro is his fourth gem. Primarily the reason could be the soundtrack of the film which is not even remotely close to earlier combos of Ashutosh and Rahman. Apart from that, the trailers revealed that costumes are boring and so were the dialogues. Coming to the film, the costumes though boring it seemed appropriate considering the era. The dialogues were slightly dramatic in few scenes but most of them were apt to the context in the film. The last dialogue in the film is the simplest but gives an adrenaline rush.

Sarman (Hrithik Roshan) is a farmer cum artisan from a small place called Amri in Sindh. Since he was a kid, he had always dreamt of visiting Mohenjo Daro, as he senses some connection with that place. Sarman had lost his parents at an early age and raised by his Kaaka and Kaaki who always stopped him from visiting MohenjoDaro. One fine day, he finally reaches Mohenjo Daro to do some trade. He finds that the people there are suffering from the atrocities of the king Maham (Kabir Bedi). Also, he falls in love with Chaani (Pooja Hegde), who is considered as a symbol of Sindhu Maa and is looked upon divinely. Chaanu, however is engaged to Maham’s son Moonja (Arunoday Singh). Sarman’s intolerance for injustice and love for Chaani brings him into loggerheads with the king and prince. The rest of the film is about what wrath he faces and how he stands for the people.

On a high level if you see, Ashtuosh’s leads have always been a ‘Maseeha’ to a village/town and his way of portraying the heroism is to show the lead bringing the change in their lives. Hrithik was immaculate in being the Maseeha this time. The bravery, honesty and presence of mind were unmistakable. No one could have been more apt may be. The bravery is established right in the first scene with a crocodile very convincingly. A 15minute fight with two giants comes in the second half of the film, and it’s one of the scenes where you want to cheer for the hero.

The movie is not really about Mohenjo Daro civilization but a story set in the backdrop of it. The production design department was able to get the setup right enough to show the simplicity. The story was very simple and a plot that has been witnessed lot of times before. The age-old plot which even Bahubali used where a small town guy realizes he is the prince of a nearby kingdom. However, Ashutosh made it look engaging by setting it in an era and place where we are totally unfamiliar. He takes us to the world and makes us witness the proceedings without making it mundane anywhere. There is a point in the film (exactly after 2 hours of the film) where you think, the movie is already over story per se and what is he gonna show now? Then comes a fantastic episode which will make you spellbound. And the episode is very much required to show that Sarman wants to help people rather than rule them.

On the flipside, choice of the antagonist (Kabir Bedi) is a huge drawback. The senility lowered down the ferociousness and neither was the acting upto the mark. No doubt he has a great ersonality and voice, but he was a miscast for the film. Arunoday Singh was very good.

The technical department in the finale deserves and applause and Rahman’s mediocre work (considering his standards) deserves brickbats.

On the whole, Mr. Gowariker delivers another gem. Simple yet engaging.

Hrithik Roshan’s period drama ‘Mohenjo Daro’, which is gearing up for release on August 12, has been entangled in plagiarism issue.

A writer named Akash Aditya Lama had a few days back filed a case in the Mumbai High Court alleging that Ashutosh Gowariker has made ‘Mohenjo Daro’ by copying the story he had written for his play. After taking up the case, the High Court declared his allegation baseless and fined him with Rs 1.5 lakh for wasting the time of the court.

Akashaditya has now hosted a press conference in Mumbai against the judgment that came on 2nd August. Along with the team of ‘Mohenjo Daro’ play, Lama held the press meet and shared all of the evidence with the media relating to the similarities between the play and the film. “I will continue this fight, and I will go to the Supreme Court to challenge the judgment of Mumbai High Court. I have sold my property on 27th June to file this case in high court, and I have no money to pay the fine imposed by High Court. It’s no more just my fight but the fight of every common man who move to a legal system for justice and get punished in return’.

‘Mohenjo Daro’ marks the debut of Pooja Hegde in Bollywood. She has worked for two years for this project hoping that the film will give a much-needed boost to her career prospects in Bollywood. Now, as the film is set for release in 2 weeks, on August 12, the promotional activities are happening at a brisk pace. But, Pooja is seen nowhere as she is down with dengue fever for the past few days.

She was supposed to take part in various photo shoots and attend several shows to promote the film. The makers seem to be not happy, but they still have advised the actress to get well before thinking of the promotions.
