MM Keeravani is the star music composer in the film industry who has a demand. Balakrishna approached him for the music of NTR biopic and Keeravani immediately came on board. Meanwhile, during the recent interviews, Keeravani opened up that he rejected a biopic.

“When we are doing a biopic, we should not move away from the reality. A director approached me with the proposal of doing a biopic on one of the famous persons in Telugu. I asked him how is he going to show his death. It should either be a controversial death or a natural death. But he said that he has some other idea on mind. Immediately, I rejected the project saying that I am not interested to do the project.” said Keeravani.

Everyone is curious to know which project is Keeravani referring to.

It is known that Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been spending jail term at Yerrawada jail in Mumbai. The actor was sentenced for his alleged involvement in 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

The actor, who is accused of taking bail now and then showing silly reasons, is heard to be planning to cut short his sentence by six months courtesy good behavior.

If a prisoner shows good behavior in jail, he gets relief in his jail term by six months, as per Indian judicial system. Using this advantage, this senior hero planned to reduce his sentence.

Although it is not approved yet, there are no obstructions in his way to get this reduction.

Dhyan Chand had been Indian Pride and a really big name in the Hockey World. And a biopic on him, surely intrigues our brain cells. The Olympic Medal Winner, and an uber talented sportstar, Dhyan Chand inspired too many souls. His story is worth a tell.

Buying the rights of the film, Karan Johar, resorted to Twitter to announce this piece of news. He posted, “My friends Pooja…Aarti Shetty and I are honoured and proud to have the rights to tell the story of the legendary sportsman #DHYANCHAND…”.

Now that the rights have been bought, we have an extremely important question unanswered. Who will essay the role of the legendary sportsman? Will it be Shah Rukh Khan? Earlier there were too many speculations and SRK’s name as Dhyan Chand, sprung too often. But there is no confirmation as of now.

More details about the film are yet to come and the official announcement about the cast and crew is quite awaited. We would love if K’Jo and SRK unison is witnessed again on the silver screen.

If all goes well, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone will be playing Saina Nehwal in her biopic.

While there have been reports that a biopic on Saina Nehwal is in the pipeline by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Saina is keen to have Deepika Padukone roped in for the same.

At an event, Saina said, “I think only Deepika Padukone can do justice to my onscreen image. Firstly, people should be able to connect with the character and given Deepika’s popularity, she would be perfect for the role.”

Saina feels that Deepika is the only actor who can pull off a badminton player’s role well. “She knows badminton quite well. Apart from the strokes and bends, she is aware of all the actions in the game. And since it will be a film based on a sportsperson’s life, it wouldn’t be right to go with flaws in strokes and patterns. I have seen her play, and she is really good at it,” Saina added.

Mahesh Bhatt, meanwhile, confirmed saying, “There is a very honest intention to contract a meaningful document which captures the essence and resilience of Saina’s life. However, the project is in its nascent stage now. Once it is done, I am sure it will come out very well.”

While Saina is keen on her biopic, she feels she isn’t ready to face the camera as yet. “I want people to know me for the sport and my game, and for nothing else. Also, it’s very important to remain focussed as once you lose focus you can’t perform well anymore. So it is a conscious effort on my part to avoid the limelight. If the film happens, it will only show my struggle to achieve what I have,” she added.

Well, here’s hoping that the film is out soon and the audiences get to see Deepika in an all-new avatar.

If rumours are anything to go by, Super Star Mahesh Babu is all set to play Former Badminton Star, Pullela Gopichand. A biopic is in the offing on the badminton star of yesteryear, who is now a well-known coach.

Yes. That’s right! This piece of news has come flying from Film Nagar.

According to reports, the biopic on Pullela Gopichand will depict his journey from a university badminton champion to India’s top Badminton player.

The film will be directed by Pravenn Sattaru who has previously made interesting movies such as LBW and ‘Chandamama Kathalu‘.

The film will be produced by Mahesh Babu’s ‘Baava’ Sudheer babu under his own banner.

And if rumours are anything to go by, then the pre-production of the film has already started. Well, it can easily be called the season of biopics.

Earlier, Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ earned rave reviews from audiences and made huge money at the box office.

Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Mary Kom’ is gearing up for release as well.

And now, with Mahesh Babu playing Pullela Gopichand in his next, it may indeed be called ‘The season of biopics’.

The athletic physique and intriguing looks that Mahesh possesses surely makes him the first choice for the role since that is exactly how Gopichand used to look earlier in his career.

Only time will tell if the ‘biopic’ genre works in Tollywood the way it did in Bollywood!
