OMG! BAN story written for Pawan Kalyan initially

Bharat Anu Nenu movie is all set for grand release in April. Koratala Siva seems to be super confident on the final outcome. But now one interesting update came from the writer of this movie.

Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu

Srihari Nanu is the writer of this movie. He revealed, after watching Pawan forming Janasena in 2014, he wrote a subject keeping Pawan in mind and how it will be if Pawan becomes CM for the state.

He also revealed he narrated the subject to Pawan but Pawan did not evince interest in playing the role of CM, though he liked the subject, as it would send wrong signals to people that he is floating party for the sake of power. So he rejected this story and did normal movies like Katamarayudu.

Meanwhile, Koratala Siva, knowing this writer has a good story, approached him. Koratala who wrote stories by himself for all 3 movies earlier, now bought the story from Srihari Nanu for his 4th movie. As per the reports, the writer is paid almost 1 crore for the story alone.

More organizations unite to ban Kaththi!

AR Murugadoss must be banging his head against the wall right about now as the frustration levels are rising for the Kaththi team. Despite repeated statements from them, more voices are joining in demanding that the movie be banned. If this happens it would be a serious blow to the fans and the filmmakers as Kaththi is one of the most anticipated movies of the year and already has a lot of money invested in it.

Kaththi-Tamil-Movie-Ban

The problem, ironically, is the money invested in the movie itself! The production company that has funded the flick is Lyca Productions. The issue is that it has been alleged by some that Subhakaran, who is at the helm of the company, has close ties with the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse.

Rajapakse, of course, is one of the most hated men in the Tamil world for his role in the atrocities and warcrimes against the Tamils in Sri Lanka. So many Tamil organizations were outraged by this controversial revelation.

The claims then went on to say that Rajapakse himself has investments in Lyca Productions.

Now, the Kaththi team and Ayngaran International came forward with press statements denying the accusations and stating repeatedly that Lyca had no connection whatsoever with Rajapakse. They even went the extra mile and met with several important Sri Lankan Tamil activists to clear the air, so to speak, hoping that would put the matter to rest once and for all.

But things seem to be growing worse by the day for the film’s prospects…

Now, more organizations like Maatram Maanavar Ilaiyor Iyakkam, Free Tamil Eelam Students Organisation, Tamil Youth and Students association and Progressive Students Front have united in the protest against Kaththi.

The Director’s Union though, to everyone’s relief, have sided with the Kaththi team.

Will the movie be banned? And if it manages to come out, what kind of fresh hell awaits it then?

Kaththi stars Vijay in dual roles, Samantha in the female lead and Neil Nitin Mukesh as the baddie. Anirudh Ravichander is the composer for the flick.

The film is aiming for a Diwali release… if things go according to plan, that is. Sigh.

Shiv Sena wing bans Asif Ali!

It was a couple of days ago that the shocking incident wherein a couple of girls who posted some negative comments against the movie Hi I’m Tony on its Facebook page, were abused and beaten by a group of men claiming to be fans of the young actor Asif Ali – one of the stars of the movie.

Shiva-Sena-Wing-Bans-Asif-Ali

Now, though later the men claimed the attack occurred because one of the girls had provoked them personally and not because of a movie, things seem to have taken a much worse turn.. for Asif Ali, that is!

The Thrissur wing of the political party Shiv Sena, seems to have taken up the cause and have come out in strong protest against the actor. It does not end there – they have ‘banned’ the actor in Thrissur, meaning they are stating outright that they will not allow any of the actor’s movies to be screened in Thrissur!
This must come as quite a blow to the actor, though he still has not responded to this.

Shiv Sena claims the actor uses goons to abuse and harm people who are against him, or in this case, the girls who happened to comment against his work. It is to be noted here that the actor has in no way been connected to the incident involving the girls.

In fact, by the admission of the culprits themselves, their unacceptable and indecent behaviour was personal in nature. They just happen to be Asif Ali fans – though that is hardly the actor’s fault…

Now we will have to see if this ‘ban’ really holds and if it does, what it means for Asif Ali, whose career is on the rise otherwise.

And what does the industry and the fans have to say about this?

Only the days to come will tell…

Vijay’s Kaththi facing a ban?!

There is a growing concern among cine fans that this could very well be a real possibility, yes. Apparently some Tamil groups are protesting against the movie and its makers and want the flick banned for a very particular reason. Care to venture a guess what the reason is?

Kaththi-Ban

It’s that the movie is in part, being produced by Lyca Productions, owned by Subaskaran Allirajah, who also just happens to be a close aide and friend of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse. Rajapakse, of course, is hated across Tamil Nadu for his role in the genocide or mass murder of and atrocities against Tamils in Sri Lanka.

It is also to be noted that Rajapakse himself has shares in Lyca Productions.

So now, many Tamil groups are actually working towards starting a movement which would want the movie banned and they’re also against its makers for profiting of something funded, in essence, by Rajapakse.

But Ayngaran International has come forward with a press release trying to ease the tension and here’s some of what is says:

We are a very respected company and have been in the business of cinema for over two decades and distributed nearly 2000 Tamil films in the foreign market. As far as Kaththi is concerned Lyca Productions is funding us. Lyca communications is a multinational that have operations in India and Sri Lanka.

The statement also made it a point to emphasize that Lyca does a lot of charity work for the good will and betterment of Tamils caught up in the civil war in Sri Lanka.

But will this statement actually hinder what otherwise looks like it could be a determined campaign against the movie? That remains to be seen.

One of Vijay’s previous flicks, Thalaivaa, directed by AL Vijay, had also been banned… unofficallly of course, due to certain political reasons. The culture and trends of cinema are closely tied in with that of politics in Tamil Nadu, and it looks like the AR Murugadoss project is in for some rough weather in the days to come.

The film is otherwise aiming for a Diwali release. It stars Vijay in dual roles in the lead, and Samantha in the female lead. Bollywood star Neil Nithin Mukesh makes his debut in Kollywood as the bad guy in the flick.

Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music and AR Murugadoss, is of course, the director.

Salman Khan banned by photographers!

Well, what does one say about Salman Khan anymore when it comes to troublesome situations other than “here we are again”! This time the star’s problem is with the photographers or rather theirs with him, depending on how you look at it.

Salman-Banned-By-Photographers

The whole thing happened when Salman was launching the trailer to his highly anticipated upcoming movie Kick, and during the event there ensued some ruckus and one of Salman’s bodyguards manhandled a photographer. The photographers, of course, were none too happy about it, and in the argument that followed Salman basically provoked them even more by simply saying that they were welcome to leave if they so wished. Now that’s pretty much a polite way of saying I don’t need you now, isn’t it?

The outraged photographers left and Salman decided to add insult to injury, so to speak, albeit in a dignified manner, with this tweet:

They have all the right to take a stand and to not take my pictures and I am so happy, but it is also a sad story as every coin has two sides. They had banned me long time ago. I was very happy. I was so peaceful. Every 10 years, there are 10 or 12 (such) people who comeā€¦it does not work like that.

And we have a ban!

Well, Salman is neither phased by this or angry, as he has made it clear that from this point forth he will be hiring his own personal photographers who will follow him around and take his pictures to be released to the media.

A star like Salman can afford to make such a gutsy move as the publications will surely take the photos whatever the source is, since the fans can’t get enough of their beloved idol.

In any case, he is busy promoting his film Kick these days and hasn’t got too much time to spend on these issues. Not to mention the legal troubles from his past catching up to him again.

Kick has Salman in the lead and also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is slated for release on July 25th.

Journalists Ban Ram Gopal Varma

That’s right! Journalists Ban Ram Gopal Varma.

Journalists-Banned-Ram-Gopal-Varma

Director Ram Gopal Varma had conducted a special workshop on using ‘FlowCam’ yesterday. ‘FlowCam’ is a new camera that RGV used to shoot his upcoming Tollywood movie, “Ice Cream”.

On careful observation, you must have noticed that none of the newspapers or media houses reported about the event. That’ because Journalists have banned Ram Gopal Varma.

The reason for the same is Ram Gopal Varma’s arrogant answers at a previous media interaction had angered the journalists who had thereby decided to ban the director and not publish any stories about him.

When quizzed if the film was ‘Ice Cream or Eye Scream’, Ramu took a jibe at one journalist saying that he always thought media was full of dumb folks but they are now sounding like illiterates.

When another journalist asked RGV about the probable fate of his film, he replied back with wicked and bitter replies. This, reportedly, upsetted the journalists who have now strongly decided to abandon his stories and not publish them.

A source close to the director said, “As long as the journalists ask him such questions, he will give the same answers. Media people should behave themselves.”

Well, we are aware of Ram Gopal Varma’s arrogance so we’re not really surprised on this piece of news.

Given that “Ice Cream” is releasing soon, we fill RGV should not take such risks by making the media angry.
