Vijay Devarakonda starrer ‘Arjun Reddy’ is undoubtedly one of cult movies in Tollywood. The tremendous blockbuster is now getting remade into Tamil as well with Dhruv as the lead actor.

Titled as ‘Varma’, the makers of the remake version have unveiled the first single from the film in which Dhruv is spotted with a fully grown beard. It is the song that comes after the breakup. Dhruv is looking fine for his character but we can say that the song track is not that impressive when compared to the original version. Though it is wrong to compare two movies, the movie is a tremendous hit and not only Vijay’s fans but also the audience expects the remake version to repeat the same magic. But, in terms of that, we can say that the Tamil version is not up to the mark. So, there will be too many hurdles of comparison for ‘Varma’.

We have to wait and see if the movie can impress the audience after the release or not. On the other hand, the Hindi version titled as Kabir Singh with Shahid Kapoor in the lead role is slated for Valentine’s Day release.

Arjun Reddy is a huge blockbuster all over the country. The film starring Vijay Devarakonda has created a sensation at the box office. The film is now going to Bollywood. The makers officially confirmed Kiara Advani as the heroine of the project and she too made it official on Twitter.

The film’s lead hero Shahid Kapoor too welcomed her in style. “Welcome to the madness @Advani_Kiara aka Preeti. Team Arjun Reddy is now officially complete. Let’s do this. ?” posted Shahid.

Sharing more, Kiara said, “I watched #ArjunReddy last year while I was shooting for my first Telugu film and I told myself I have to work with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It’s my honour that he saw Preeti in me and I can’t wait to live her character ??”

The latest buzz around the Hindi remake of the Arjun Reddy is that Shahid Kapoor will be playing the lead in the movie and not Ranveer Singh, as it was being speculated earlier.

A source close to the unit, “Director Sandeep Vanga was on board for the Hindi version of the film, since he owns the copyrights of all the remakes. For reasons best known to him, he wanted Ranveer Singh to play Arjun Reddy. But after Padmavati, Ranveer is voluntarily off-limits for dark characters. So Sandeep then went to Ranveer’s Padmavati co-star Shahid Kapoor for whom the role of the doped, drugged, drunken doctor Devdas would be an antithetical change after the noble royalty in Padmavati.”

Arjun Reddy is the story of a philandering, alcoholic, drug-addict who also happens to be a surgeon who falls in love with an innocent medical student. Vijay Deverakonda essayed the role of the protagonist in the original movie, and his performance was appreciated by the audience and critics alike.

Kapoor would reportedly require a lot of preparation for the role which includes losing eight to nine kilograms so that his frame looks ‘gaunt and drugged’. Kapoor would also have to learn how to snort cocaine and inject himself with uppers and stimulants.

Being no rookie to the drug-addict portrayal, Kapoor has previously essayed a similar character in his 2016 film Udta Punjab.

There are a lot of speculations on who would bag the remake rights of ‘Arjun Reddy’ in Tamil and Hindi and who are the young heroes who would be suitable to play the intense role essayed by Vijay Devarakonda. Distributor Sunil Narang bagged the remake rights for Hindi.

It is learned that the distributor has approached Bollywood’s most energetic hero Ranveer Singh to watch Arjun Reddy. So, a special screening held for the energetic hero who is known to experiment with bold subjects along with Sandeep Reddy Vanga

As per reports, Ranveer Singh is one of the most appropriate choices for playing the main lead in the remake. For the kind of reception the film received in the Telugu States, it is going to be a good film in Hindi if done properly. Of course, such bold content will not be a shocker for Bollywood audiences as they have seen many bold movies.
