A man who has directed just three films till date and all of them were starred the same lead and all the three were love stories filled with melodrama. Aditya Chopra has finally decided to break his own pattern in every possible way yet sticking to his favourite love genre.

The movie begins with a series of kisses in Paris followed by the introduction of the leads. The guy Dharam is an Indian who comes to Paris on a work purpose. The girl is Indian by blood but every other thing about her is Paris. There is nothing really deep about the story. At a high level it’s a just a boy meets girl followed by kiss, another kiss and another and so on. How much ever bold the film goes the film culminates in a way an Aditya Chopra has to.

Ranveer Singh is the life of the film. He gives a fantastic performance. It’s like showing his gratitude back to his Godfather Aditya Chopra who has introduced stardom to him. Right from the beginning to the end, he tried his very best to cover up the flaws wherever they were. Fortunately to complement him is Vani Kapoor who was more than superb with her ease. Except the rumored surgery which made her lose all her natural beauty, she was perfect in every other sense and gave a believability as the Befikar girl. The pair carries the film on their arms. Vani’s dancing skills are also appreciable.

The music of the film may not be in par with Chopras earlier film, but a couple of tracks work well. The movie has a lot of urban feel with kisses now and then. The cinematography and the other technical departments also seemed fine. The exotic locations were captured so beautifully. It gives a glimpse of the land of French, its people, their culture and the language. You almost feel like you are on a mini trip to Paris.

The biggest drawback is the clichéd plot and a boring second half. The first half of the film somehow manages to hold the attention with its humour. The second half tries hard to get the attention back but fails most of the time.

All in all Befikre is an average film which rides solely on the lead performances and nothing else.Yes, a free trip to Paris. Ok not free but 200 bucks.

Noted Bollywood filmmaker Aditya Chopra’s latest directorial ‘Befikre’ has been promoted as a wild love story ever since the promotions began.

After releasing a series of posters in which the film’s lead actors Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor were seen sharing passionate lip-locks, the makers released a trailer, which took the sleaze level to new heights. The shocking part of this story is that this raunchy, sexist, bold yet vulgar film having as many as 40 lip-locks receiving U/A certificate from the Censor Board, which has been embroiled in umpteen controversies lately.

The same censor board had enforced 80 cuts and also awarded A certificate to this year’s release Udta Punjab. Several other films were given A certificates just for having one or two kiss scenes. However, when Befikre was awarded U/A certificate, not only the movie lovers but the film industry people were also appalled.

The latest first look poster of Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s upcoming romantic drama ‘Befikre’ has created a huge sensation.

Not that the film’s poster had any controversial material, or it was visually stunning, but the lead actors was seen enjoying a passionate lip lock. It was quite a bold poster for a film being directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by highly respected Yash Raj Films banner.

Next, we heard that the film will be ultra bold with the lead actors having at least 25 lengthy lip locks. Known for the bold nature of Vaani Kapoor, it was not hard to believe that she would go the extra length.

Now, we hear that Ranveer Singh would go nude for a special scene in the film. All these revelations are raising expectations on this drama to release in December.

However, the film makers stated that the decision has not yet been made final. Vaani, who starred as a second lead in Shudh Desi Romance made a commendable entry into Bollywood. Aaha Kalyanam, a remake of Band Baaja Baarat, saw her also follow up the debut with a good second film. However, the reports of whether she will star opposite the Bollywood Badshah are yet to be confirmed.

“There are reports that Vaani will feature opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Fan, to be produced by Yash Raj Films. The leading actress has not been finalised for Fan” sources said PTI without further details.

The other front runners who are being considered for the role are Parineeti Chopra and Anushka Sharma. Both the actresses are also the busiest stars in Bollywood off late.

Fan, directed by Maneesh Sharma of ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ fame, will see SRK playing an uncanny role – of a fan. Hollywood star make up artist Greg Cannom had been roped in by the production to work on SRK’s look in the film. This will be an exhaustive make up ever sported by Shah Rukh in his career.

The film that will be produced by Aditya Chopra will see shooting commence from May. More details on the other cast and crew in the film to be announced by the film unit shortly.
