We all know that Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan and beautiful Taapsee Pannu teamed up for Pink and impressed the audience with their breakthrough performances. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the courtroom scenes are the major highlight in that film. Now, as per the latest updates, the duo are going to reunite again for an interesting film which is a Sujoy Ghosh’s directorial. It is reportedly titled as Badla. Touted to be a crime-thriller, the film likely to hit the floors from June.

Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh is a renowned filmmaker who has previously directed films like Kahaani, Jhankaar Beats, Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh, and has also directed critically acclaimed short films like Ahalya and Anukul. The makers are going to film some important sequences in Scotland and London. Well, let’s see how this film will impress the audience.

Director Sujoy Ghosh’s critically acclaimed and commercially successful film ‘Kahaani’ starring Vidya Balan was supposed to get a sequel. However, the director chose ‘Durga Rani Singh’ as his next project and chose Vidya Balan as his leading lady.

But somehow, he later offered the same role to the current top actress of Bollywood, Kangna Ranaut. As the National Award winning actress chose Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Rangoon’, he knocked the door of Aishwarya Rai, who made her comeback with ‘Jazbaa’. From Kangana Ranaut to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and now Vidya Balan, let’s see who lands in this project finally.

The actress liked the subject, but she already committed for two other flicks so she couldn’t immediately give her dates. Sujoy is in now confusion as whether to go back to Vidya Balan or wait for either Aishwarya Rai or Kangna Ranaut to finish their commitments.

The reigning ‘queen’ of Bollywood, Kangana is now giving cold feet to her peers in the industry. The super talented actress will now replace another winner, Vidya Balan in the upcoming film to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

Confirms the actress with IANS; “I would be doing the film with Sujoy. I am excited about it. It is a suspense thriller and beyond this I cannot reveal anything”. Tentatively titled ‘Durga Rani Singh’, the film will see Kangana playing the role of a 35 year old mother to a 14 year old girl with a paralytic condition, which, going by the description, seems to be a challenging one.

Earlier Vidya was to play this role but the actress had issues with the dates. Kangana is the sure shot replacement to such a story. Going by the popularity of Queen, many directors are now eying closely on Ranaut to carry off powerful women backed roles.

“I am very happy with the response to ‘Queen’. We had not expected this kind of appreciation…we are overwhelmed. We are thankful to the audience for this love for the film” she said, with a joyful tone.

Portraying strong roles comes as a niche to Kangana, right from the start. Her debut in Gangster saw her playing a full blown alcoholic and delivering some kick ass performance. Kangana then played another mind blowing role of a showstopper model in Madhur Bandarkar’s Fashion, walking away with a National Award for the same.
