Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 is all set to release in China. Normally, Indian films are well received by the Chinese audiences and thus, the makers wanted to try their luck over there. Already, the makers Lyca Productions have been promoting the film in China very extensively.

The Chinese version of the film is titled as ‘Bollywood Robot 2.0- Resurgence.’ The makers are promoting in in the name of Bollywood. Though released amidst huge expectations in India, 2.0 failed to reach those expectations and ended up as an average venture.

In fact, the film has incurred losses to the buyers in a few areas. Films like Dangal and Secret Superstar struck gold at the Chinese box office. We have to see how this Rajini’s sci-fi thriller would perform there. It will hit the theatres in China mostly this summer.

There have been several rumors spread of late that superstar Rajinikanth was admitted in a private hospital in the US owing to his health conditions.

As the legend didn’t even attend the audio launch of his upcoming film ‘Kabali’, many believed his health rumor to be true. However, reliable sources have now revealed that Rajini, in fact, has been in the US for a different reason.

Rajini, who has been enjoying a vacation in the US, has also been participating in the look tests for a new look for his science fiction extravaganza ‘2.o’. Film’s director Shankar is also in the US for the same purpose. A team of Hollywood makeup artists are working on the look tests on Rajini to give him a super stylish and never before seen kind of look.

Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson are also part of this project produced by LYCA with a mammoth budget of Rs 350 Cr.

Before approaching Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar for the lead antagonist in the film 2.0, an official sequel of the movie Robo the makers had contacted some other actors including Hollywood actor Arnold and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. Shankar pinned a lot of hopes on signing in Kamal Haasan for the project. But the universal actor has straight away rejected the role. The reason behind him rejecting the proposal was recently revealed by him. It is said that both Kamal and Rajini made a decision that if they act together in a film, the fans should not be annoyed. To overcome that, any of the actors had to produce the film.

In this case, 2.0 is not produced by Rajinikanth and Kamal can not interfere in the production after the film starting its production activities. As a result, Kamal Haasan denied the project. Kamal is currently busy with his upcoming film Sabash Naidu.
