One of his fans asked, “You said love marriage so… When you are gng to announce our queen ?” to which the actor replied, “Very Soon.”

If everything falls in place, we might witness a film which will have Raj Tarun and Nithya Menon as the lead pair. Sounds different right? According to the sources, director Vijay Kumar Konda has written a script in which a boy falls for the girl who is way older than him. The story will be something on the lines of Soundarya’s Aaro Pranam and Naga Chaitanya’s Ye Maya Chesave. These kinds of films are quite risky to attempt and have to be dealt carefully.

Story

Raj (Raj Tarun) is the best custom bike maker who gets admitted into hospital with a bullet wound he gets while going to Bangkok. He comes across Charitha (Riddhi Kumar), a nurse in that hospital and falls for her. He tries a lot to get his love reciprocated and finally succeeds. At the same time, Charitha challenges her superiors in the hospital for the doubtful happenings in the hospital. On a good day, Raj and Charitha go for an outing to Gandikota, where they share their dreams and all that after which they are attacked by a gang when Raj is in distance from Charitha, smoking. Who are they? What happens in the hospital? How Raj solve these all problems? These questions form rest of the story.

Cast and performance

Raj Tarun has played the role of Raj in as usual way. This is a very easy role for him as it resembles many of his previous roles. The Rayalaseema slang he uses seems a bit awkward. Riddhi Kumar as Charita, a Malayalee nurse in a Andhra hospital is good. She looks very innocent in her role. Rajeev Kanakala is good. Revathi has done fine job in her role. Subbaraj and Ajay are nice. Sachin Khedekar is nice. Satyam Rajesh, Praveen and others in hero’s friend gang are nice. Raja Raveendra and Jeeva are good as superiors of Charitha in hospital.

Writing Department

Story of Lover is routine and screenplay is fine. Dialogues are okay.

Technical Departments

Songs composed by multiple composers are good. They work fine on screen. Background score is good. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is nice which are filled a lot with bright colors. Editing is okay. Production values are rich.

Lover is a story of a boyfriend who is trying to save his girlfriend from the bigger problems she face while fulfilling her duties. This is the story we have been seeing in Telugu movies from a long time and nothing is new to rave about. This routine story is filled with an okay first half which runs with the premise of hero trying to win heroine’s heart in a very cinematic way where “Everything is fair in love and war” clearly take upper hand over the mindset and sensibilities of heroine. Second half is filled with everything that a Telugu hero do to save his girl from the bad. Director Anish Krishna has done an okayish job with this movie. He has taken a very well known story and told it in a simple way adding the most routine premise and filled it with some beautiful songs composed by various composers. To sum up, Lover is a movie which neither entertain nor bore you off.

Lover starring Raj Tarun and Riddhi Kumar has achieved a rare feat now. The movie which is said to be a romantic entertainer and the teaser launched a couple of days ago. For taking debt on fake gold, Raj Tarun’s father Basavaraju has been sentenced three years jail term.

Going into details, Nidamarthi Basavaraju, who served as a special assistant cashier in Simhachalam region during 2013 granted a loan of Rs 9.85 lakhs through fake gold. Basavaraju’s wife Rajya Lakshmi along with some others took a loan through this fake gold which has been revealed during the audit.

A case has been registered in Gopalapatnam police station and after an investigation, revealed the court’s decision of three years imprisonment along with Rs 20000 fine for Basavaraju.

Story

Vishnu (Raj Tarun) is owner of a greeting card company named “Emotions”. He is well raised by his mother (Sithara) who gives him as much as freedom he want and who loves him so much. He comes across a girl named Keerthi (Chitra Shukla), who works for an event management company and falls for her. She is overprotective and over caring by nature and they both fall in love with each other. As days pass by Vishnu gets irritated by the overprotective and over caring nature of Keerthi and conflicts start between them and they part their ways. As they part, they are disturbed by the memories of each other. Rest of the story is about how they get united.

Cast and performance

Raj Tarun who debuted with Uyyala Jampala has given some nice performances in his earlier movies. His heart is not in right place in this movie and he performed his role as Vishnu well but it is not such a noteworthy one. Chitra Shukla performed well in her role as Keerthi. Sitara as mother of Raj Tarun aka Vishnu is nice. Priyadarshi Pulikonda is fantastic with his comedy timing and he saved the movie from becoming utter disappointment.

Writing Department

Story of Rangula Raatnam is simple. Writing team could have taken better care in writing screenplay and dialogues are good.

Technical Departments

Sri Charan Pakala who debuted with Kshanam into music direction has composed some fun tracks for this movie but they don’t work well with the audience as expected. He did a fine work in composing background score. Cinematography by LK Vijay is fine. Some visuals are good to eyes. Editing by Sreekar Prasad is okay. Production values of Annapurna Studios is just okay.

Verdict

Rangula Raatnam is a tale of love between Vishnu and Keerthi. The movie showcased their reactions to different emotional phases in a certain period of time. No guy or girl in this generation likes to be ordered or controlled by anyone even lover or wife or parents. This film revolves mostly around it. There is something missing to make it a good movie. The feel that required is not generated with the mediocre writing. The mother and son track in first half seemed unimportant to the story and which resulted in slow pace of first half. The comedy scenes featuring Priyadarshi are superb and they give some nice humorous moments for the audience and make them feel relaxed form the sentimental overdose. Director Sree Ranjani has done an okay job in terms of directing this movie. She could have come up with a better screenplay. Songs are another disappointment in the movie. Few scenes between lead pair, comedy scenes of Priyadarshi and last thirty minutes of the movie is saving grace. If not for them, Rangula Raatnam could turn out as another disappointment in this festive season.
