No movies to be screened from March 2nd

So, its official there will be no new Telugu movies screening in theatres from March 2nd. The talks have failed between the producer council and the DSP’s, once again and a final decision has been taken.

It is, however, not yet clear if the decision to ban the screening of movies is exclusive only to TFI or other South Indian film industries as well. However, an official confirmation from Tamil film Industry is expected to come soon.

However, there is a criticism that having a strike at this point when no biggies are arriving in cinemas doesn’t reflect the seriousness of the producers.

Vishal introduces a new strategy for a good cause

Office-bearers of Producers’ Council take charge, plan to hold concert and award function to raise money.

During the media interaction actor and producer Vishal said, “We want to work as a united body to enable producers to make films without any hurdles and take the Tamil industry forward by leaps and bounds.”

Vishal further added, “To help the farmers from Tamil Nadu who have been affected, the council has decided that one rupee from every ticket for a Tamil movie sold on one day in the State will go towards creating a fund for them. We will zero in on the date soon”.

The council had decided that members over the age of 60 will be entitled to a pension of Rs. 12,500. Stating that they were working towards raising funds for the council, Vishal said that they would be organizing Isaivom, a concert to honor music maestro Ilaiyaraaja, this year.
