No Screening of Bollywood Movies in Pak

In the wake of the surgical strikes carried out by India, a decision has been taken to stop the screening of Bollywood films in Pakistan.

Even though the Pakistan government didn’t officially order this, the film exhibitors themselves took this decision keeping in mind the tense atmosphere between the two nations. Hindi films will only be screened in the neighboring nation after normalcy returns. The latest Dhoni biopic is the first film to get affected in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) has also passed a resolution banning all Pak artists and technicians from working in Indian films.

This resolution doesn’t apply to the films already made or the ones on floors but for all the new films. More than the actors, the move is expected to hamper the prospects of Pakistani singers since Bollywood is filled with them.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan Director Kabir Khan insulted in Pakistan

Bollywood filmmaker Kabir Khan, who is popular for directing the films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Phantom, and Ek Tha Tiger was heckled at Karachi airport yesterday. The reason for being hackled by the strangers is that the filmmaker is doing ‘anti-Pakistan’ films. The director never intentionally made anything or he never intended to make films to hurt the sentiments of Pakistani people. The director Kabir Khan was in Karachi on a day-long visit to attend a conference. While he was heading to Lahore and arrived at the Airport, the strangers rounded him up and began screaming at him making slogans “Shame Shame.”

This is not the first time that Pakistan people showed their hatred on the director. In the past too, Kabir Khan’s films like Phantom, Ek Tha Tiger were banned in Pakistan at the time of their release. “Phantom” is about a retired Indian Army officer who leads a mission to kill Pakistani terrorist leader Hafiz Saeed. Somehow, security officers have made him come out of the mob after a while, and Kabir restarted his journey. A statement from him is expected soon.

Shocking: Kick’s screening bombed in Pakistan!

All was well for Team Kick in Pakistan, when a shocking incident changed the turn of events. Salman’s Kick is doing exceptionally well in all nations, including Pakistan. But a screen was bombed while the film was being screened.

Salamn-Kick-in-Pakistan

The Capri Cinema in Pakistan was the one bombed by hand grenades by two unidentified men. The whole scene caused uproar and the situation got too chaotic. This is not the first time a cinema was bombed in Pakistan. As the film released on EID, the shows were houseful and the cinemas were crowded.

Reports reveal that the hand grenades were only to cause damage to the property and scare the people and no lives have been compromised so far. Other ulterior motives are not yet known. Not long ago, two cinema halls were almost burnt, apparently due to anti-islamic nature they bore.

Other details are yet to come!

A R Murugadoss a hit in Pakistan too!

AR Murugadoss is certainly having the best time possible as far as his career goes and the thing is, with him, almost all of it can be attributed to just plain talent and hard work – lady luck doesn’t seem to have much of a role in his movies!

The energetic and enterprising young film maker has made his mark in the landscape of Indian cinema in, relatively, a very short span of time and now he has done it internationally as well – in Pakistan of all places!

AR Murugadoss

Bollywood movies, are of course, a big commodity in Pakistan and ARM’s latest action thriller starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, Holiday, has made quite the impact on the box office over there with collections from the opening weekend being rounded up to almost Rs 1.76 crores!

Now that’s a statement of mass popularity. ARM has gained a reputation for being a director who has his fingers on the pulse of the popular culture and their preferences, which has been called his ‘pan India appeal’. Guess we can officially rephrase that now…

The busy director/producer is currently busy with his next Tamil venture Kaththi starring Vijay, and he is aiming for a Diwali release according to sources. In any case, he just announced that the first look of the movie along with its theme music comes out on the 22nd of this month.

He has also announced two other exciting projects in the pipeline – a unique action film in Hindi which will star Sonakshi Sinha in the lead and a very exciting Tamil flick which will have none other than Thala Ajith in the lead!

Murugadoss also wants to produce smaller movies starring lesser known or upcoming stars, maybe even newcomers, and he claims he is still ‘learning’ as he is, according to him at least, an inexperienced producer.

At this rate, there will be no end to this talented artist’s achievements in the arena of Indian cinema. Good luck ARM, and keep them coming!
